I met Gloria Bacon at my apartment complex where she was teaching sign language, she invited me to come. I checked it out online first as I have at that point not able to find my church home. I loved Aaron and thought he was amazing. Decided to go, and immediatly felt at home. Everyone was so loving and helpful. When I started we were still at the Clearwater High School. Long story short! I was supose to be Baptised Feb 5, 2023 my boyfriend was super excited to check out the church and very supportive about my decision to go public with my faith. Sadly he had a heart attack and passed away feb 2, 2023 cpl weeks before we got officially engaged we were going to be marriade in March. I sent Pastor Jose a msg with my decision to not be baptised and why. I was angry with God broken as I finally at almost 63 found the love of my life. To my surprise Pastor Jose responded almost immediatly and told me if I needed anything to please let him know. Being a person who just went and then went right home not socializing with anyone, hearing that from the pastor gave me hope. Pastor Jose, Nicole and the dream team are the reason I decided to stay. Now, fast forward June 2025 I am a leader in legends, working on being in 4fifty6 and youth. I have lots of friends, some the best of my life. I have found my church home and even though my life is still choas do to other things I am at peace and leaning into God with my season of waiting and I have more hope than ever before. I just came across the Facebook feed post that Westboro Baptist was going to be at our church the next day. It was nice to see all the people dressed as angels to stand next to the five protestors. The best part was when I saw one of our preachers come out and welcome them inside our church. It is a beautiful church and is handicapped accessible. I enjoy the 9:30 service, it's the contemporary one.

The music had high school musical vibes mixed with the joy that comes from Jesus. It felt uplifting. I loved the message even more. The speaker clearly spoke from conviction rather than a need to please others. He made Old Testament stories interesting and relevant while weaving in familiar Christian themes, including C.S. Lewis quotes, in a way that felt thoughtful and engaging. I especially appreciated the explanation of communion and the emphasis on how the way of Jesus is countercultural, particularly in contrast to some of the more toxic tendencies of our current culture. The commentary on how parts of the mental health industry can imply that healing is not really possible, and how medications often numb rather than cure, really resonated with me. The staff and attendees were also very friendly and welcoming. The overall atmosphere honestly gave me Trader Joe's vibes, warm, approachable, and community oriented. I did not expect the abundance of free food, ranging from donut holes to McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. While some of the sandwiches were cold, a few were mislabeled, and the American cheese was not the best option, the gesture itself was very generous. I would love to see healthier breakfast options in the future, such as fruit or more locally sourced items. That said, the beverages were high quality, from tea including Yogi tea to coffee and lattes, and I appreciated the free ear buds, internet, and toiletries (tampons, etc) available in the women's bathroom. A couple of practical notes: the chairs may not be comfortable or accessible for someone in the 300 to 500 pound range and appear to be repurposed from when the building was a school. It still says Woodrow Wilson Middle School outside, which can be a bit confusing at first. They may also benefit from opening up more seating to give people additional space. Overall, this church felt authentic, welcoming, and grounded in conviction rather than performance. I left feeling encouraged and would absolutely return.
