I purchased a Takeuchi skid steer that was consigned to JM Wood auction from Bottomline rentals. This was a 2022 with low hours and no codes in it. Purchase price was $48,000. Upon receiving it was used for a hour or two and proceeded to pour smoke from the exhaust. I took it to a dealer and was informed the motor was bad and even had 2 cracks in the block. I called bottomline to try and find some history on the machine. I talked to a very nice lady who informed me the history on this did not make sense. She told me there were very extensive repair bills and the whole engine had been rebuilt. She said new block, new turbo, new injectors, etc. I asked her who performed the work and she said to check back she would find out. A few days later I called back and she informed me she was told from her superiors not to give me any more information. She was still very nice and told me she would like to help but could not. Computer codes were cleared and machine was patched up enough to get by. There was no disclosure of any of this information. read more
