Lily has the patience and kindness, not to mention exceptional photo shoot skills that make her THE BEST choice for a classy and comfortable boudoir experience! Boudoir photos was such an overwhelming goal for me as I'm in my late 40's and very shy, but Lily made me feel comfortable from my very first email to her almost a whole year before my wedding. No way, was I ever going to look that good again so I went over my budget in multiples because it was impossible to choose just 1 photo. I cannot even begin to thank her enough for the incredible experience I had during my first boudoir photo shoot! She was super prompt in her responses to my inquiry, was super informative in what to expect and how to prepare for my shoot, and is just such a lovely person to be around. I told her in my email that I was super nervous and that I have had issues with body image in the past. I also wasn't super comfortable wearing lingerie (mostly because of some lingering body dysmorphia) and wasn't sure what to wear during my shoot. She gave me some options and reassured me that they would all look great. On the day of the shoot, her phenomenal makeup artist did my hair & makeup and we got right into the photo shoot. Immediately, I was put at ease by Lily's calming demeanor and positive attitude. Before I knew it, I felt like a vixen goddess and had no problems posing in whatever outfit I put on. Best decision I made in my life! After one baby, I finally gathered the courage to take boudoir photos as a gift for my husband for our wedding anniversary. I have to say I wasn't the most confident person about my body, but I decided to take the plunge! And I'm glad I did!!! Well worth it! I love Lily's style of photography, which is soft, romantic, which suits my personality and looks better. It was super at ease that I wasn't shy at all! I wanted to commemorate somewhat of a new beginning in my life. I had always wanted to do boudoir, so I decided there was no better time to mark this "rebirth" than right now. I found Lily and I fell in love with her work. From my first interaction with her, Lily was super sweet, responsive, and told me exactly what to expect. Aside from her stunning work, I also chose Lily because of her home studio - she staged a room for photo shoots which is the ultimate blend of feminine and sexy...pink pinstripes, white fur bed cover, antique rotary phone, delicate lighting...it was perfect. I showed up to her place, was warmly greeted by her friend & makeup artist Penney Do, and I proceeded to get dolled up while listening to music. We chatted and laughed, and slowly, my nerves went away. When my hair and makeup were done, Lily helped me pick the perfect accessories and shoes. I ended up going with HER collection rather than what I brought! The photo shoot itself was an amazing experience. My cousin was in the room which helped me feel even more comfortable. Lily directed me with the patience and vision of a true professional. By the end of it, I was sad it was over. A few days later, she reached out to me to choose my favorite pics and approve my photobook layout - my final Little Black Book came in the mail a few weeks later. My photos came out pretty amazing, if I say so myself : ) She had a knack for emphasizing certain body parts and distracting from others (that I didn't want to emphasize). I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lily. I did a boudoir session with Lily as a wedding anniversary gift to my husband and had the best experience. I had so much anxiety the days leading up to the shoot because I'm very conservative and shy, but as soon as I met Lily I felt comfortable and at ease right away. Not only was she down to earth and friendly, but she did a really great job of telling me what kind of poses were flattering/not flattering and directed the shoot well. While we were shooting I also found out that her husband is her high school sweetheart too, just like me, which made it that much easier to relate to her. :) Once the session was over, Lily was amazingly quick at getting the proofs and album drafts back to me via e-mail. I had found Lily on Yelp because I was looking to do a tasteful, sexy photoshoot. I emailed her and she was very quick to respond and answered every question I had. I felt as if I was asking a million questions (This was my first time doing any type of portraits since high school) but she simply answered them and was very kind and supportive. I was doing this shoot for myself because I recently had gone through a break-up and wanted to do something for myself. I hired Lily in December of 2011 to do a maternity boudior session for both myself because I've never felt more beautiful in my life than while I've been pregnant. And as a gift for my husband who is in the army and leaves often to have something to take with him. Lily was so fast at accommodating me as my due date was quickly approaching. She was able to do my shoot one week after I contacted her. She made me feel so comfortable and gave great direction to someone like me who rarely ever steps foot in front of a camera. I hired Lily over the summer to be my photographer for an extra special gift for my boyfriend's birthday, as well as an anniversary gift for both of us to enjoy..... what a great gift idea by the way! He absolutely loved the photos, but I think I enjoyed the whole process more. Women typically don't do things like this for themselves, but this is something everyone woman should do. I splurged a little and got the most decadent package there was, just as a little extra treat for myself since he would be getting all the goodies.... First, I will say for being a one-woman show Lily does an amazing job. She has her own studio which is beautifully decorated and included with the cost of your package. She is quick to answer emails and frequently updates her elegantly designed website and blog. She even has a photo shoot preparation guide online for her clients. Her retainer is done through Square Market and she uses Pixieset to send your final images to you. I personally appreciate her tech-savvy in this regard. I'd also like to emphasize that Lily is an extremely talented photographer. Before hiring her, I did my research and scoured the internet to find great boudoir photographers in the Bay Area. I perused hundreds of reviews and photos. As other clients have mentioned, Lily's style is very feminine, flirty, romantic, and classy. Basically, the opposite of tacky, which unfortunately is how some boudoir pictures can look. She is wonderful at capturing candid moments, and uses natural lighting expertly. I was thrilled with the end product. And last but not least, she has a great personality. Undoubtedly, this is important when choosing a photographer for such an intimate setting. She is calm, focused, and professional. I didn't feel rushed when I was with her. She gives you direction on poses without being pushy, but allows you room to "free style" as well. Since I have done another shoot as a vintage pin-up before, there were some aspects of the photo selection process that stood out to me because I had something to compare it to. For example, Lily prepares a fixed number of finished photos first and then asks you to choose from them. Obviously this is different from asking you to select which proofs you'd like for touch-up. She also sits down with you to go over your photos for final selection as opposed to sending you a gallery to view on your own. So photographers will have different artistic approaches to these sorts of things, and this is something to keep in mind. I worked with Lily for a boudoir session as a wedding present for my fiance. It took me months to gather the courage to finally write an email to potential photographers because I was not fully comfortable with the idea of having the photographs taken of me. Unfortunately I had postponed the email so long that not all the photographers were able to find time in their schedule to accommodate me. ENTER LILY! Pre-Session: Lily was super responsive with my emails and worked with me every step of the way and even offered to let me build my own photography package if that was what I wanted. She was able to schedule me right away and gave me several options that would still allow me to have the final book ready by my wedding. During the Session: Lily made me feel extremely comfortable. The session took place at her own home studio. She allowed me to bring my friend with me for my own comfort and even they fell in love with how friendly and professional Lily was. (Not to mention that she has the most adorable dog!!!) The session went by very quickly and I never once felt self conscience. I don't even like being in a swim suit and so my level of comfort even surprised myself. Post-Session: Lily delivered the photobook exactly as promised before my wedding. She worked super quickly to let me view the prints. Once I selected the photographs she made the edits and we worked together to crop and format the book. ALL WITHIN A WEEK! Her email responses were quick, friendly and responsive. There were a few times we had to go and recrop the same photograph because I was getting picky and she worked with me to find the perfect positioning. I couldn't have been happier. I took my Boudoir session as a gift to my husband to be. Lily did such a wonderful job and I recommended her to all my friends also. If I were to do it again, I would in a heartbeat. It's not only a great gift for your significant other, but a great gift for yourself. Lily made it comfortable and made sure I was relaxed. She also brought music with her, which made it even more fun! She gave suggestions on how to pose and which outfits was most flattering to the body too! Weeks before the shoot she would send out emails to remind me and also find out if anything was needed on her end. After the session, I received my proofs 2 days after. I was so happy with them! I just got home from reviewing the pictures that I took from a boudoir session with Lily from a few weeks ago. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out and I'm so excited to get the finished product and give it to my soon to be hubby on our wedding day. Lily is a such a sweet person and I felt comfortable instantly once I met her. Her studio is in downtown Burlingame and is elegant and beautiful. I wish my bedroom looked like her studio!! It's the perfect backdrop for boudoir photos. Lily did a wonderful job guiding me through all the poses we did and made me feel confident even though I had never done anything like this before! I was thoroughly pleased with my experience and results of my photo shoot with Lily. She's professional and has a nature ability to instill confidence in her clients. Before I booked with Lily, we had a brief but informative phone conversation about what to expect and how to prepare. On the day of the shoot I was excited and a tad nervous, but I was instantly put at ease by Lily. We started by reviewing her products (photobooks) and then she provided feedback on the outfits and accessories that I brought (which I greatly appreciated). The studio is quaint but provides a lot of varying back drops and I loved the variety of shoots she was able to capture during my 1.5 hour session. She really has a great eye and it shows in the photos she takes. She has a tasteful and classic style to her work that appealed to me. The photos, photobook, and video far exceeded my expectations and I was beyond happy (as was my husband) with the end result.
