I did a boudoir shoot with Rani and absolutely loved the experience. It can be nerve-racking going into a stranger's studio to take photos of yourself in lingerie but Rani's sweet and bubbly personality put me immediately at ease. She played music and made champagne cocktails to help make the experience extra special. Katie from Beauty and the Beach did the hair and makeup, and also did an amazing job, even retouching the makeup and playing with different hairstyles with each outfit change. Now for the pictures - I had absolutely no idea what I was doing walking into it. But Rani is so great giving you tips, instructing you, and posing you to get the best angles for your body. She'll even show you poses herself. You could tell she works incredibly hard but also loves what she does. It was so fun feeling like a supermodel for a day and would highly recommend all women experiencing this. And I honestly believe you can't do better than Rani. Her pricing is also very reasonable considering everything her packages include. Some other boudoir photographs may seem a bit cheaper on the surface, but maybe won't include hair and makeup, etc. Overall, boudoir ain't cheap, and to me, feeling safe, comfortable, having fun, AND getting high-quality pictures is well worth it. I had a photo shoot with Rani and I absolutely loved every moment of it! Rani has a great eye for posing, lighting, and angles, and I couldn't be more in love with the photos she took for me. When I was going through the proofs, I was in awe of my photos and I couldn't even believe that they were of me. She was able to emphasize the better parts of me while minimizing the areas of me that I don't really care for. It's easy to be uncomfortable while taking these kinds of photos but Rani has such a sweet, vibrant personality that I felt like I have known her for ages. She and Heather from Beauty and the Beach (who did the makeup) are a great pair and it was honestly a ton of fun taking these photos. Rani's customer service is also top-notch and after experiencing less than stellar customer service from some other photographers, I am extra appreciative of Rani. She created a beautiful album for me and since she knew I was very busy planning for my wedding, she included all of my photos on a disc "just because". Her packaging for her products is super cute and fun and definitely added the extra "oomph" to her already great work. The lighting in her studio is really ideal for photo shoots and is very flattering. I researched quite a few photographers in the area and Rani was by far the most reasonable, especially for the quality and what is included in her packages. She has a great variety of backgrounds and props/furniture at her disposal in her studio and she was lugging in more backdrops when I came in that day. She really is enthusiastic about her photography and is always on the lookout for something else to include at her studio for her clients. Her communication with me was always prompt, which is always appreciated. I highly encourage everyone to get these done (and soon!). read more

A friend and I did a combo session with Rani and her makeup/hair artist, Katie. Both Rani and Katie were professional, while welcoming/approachable at the same time, creating a very comfortable environment. Katie did an amazing job with our hair and makeup! She even does retouches and changes as your outfits change. Rani took simply amazing photos and coached us along the way. I was definitely a bit nervous, but she understood and made everything very comfortable. She has a great eye for the whole picture and provided constructive feedback to make the most of the shoot. She understands we're real women (not models) and does not skimp on the posing advice, she even shows you how! I will definitely be recommending her and going back for future photo sessions. I'm thinking maternity in a few years, and some family photo sessions after that. read more

I did my boudoir shoot with Rani a few months ago and it was the best experience. It was my first time doing any kind of photo shoot so I had no clue what to expect. Her office is so cute and comfortable and she greeted me with champagne so I would feel even more at ease. Rani helped me with every position and gave me advice on my outfit choices I brought. The make up artist was also fabulous! I recommend if you do the shoot, pay the extra for the make up artist since it makes the photos turn out 10000x better than you doing your own make up, trust me! She even stayed to change my hair and makeup for the second half of the shoot so I could have a different look. My boudoir photo shoot with Rani made me feel like an absolute supermodel! She is so incredibly talented it is unbelievable!! I have never done anything like this before, and it far exceeded my expectations. Rani is very genuine and so sweet- she made me feel so comfortable. You can tell she puts her all into each pose and every photo she takes. My session felt as if I was hanging out with my close girlfriends- great music, mimosas, girl talk, and lots of fun taking photos! Rani gives great direction and helps you pose. (I had no clue what to do ;) ) She ensures you look your best and takes pictures from your most flattering angles. She is so gifted and passionate about photography- simply amazing! I had my hair and makeup done on site by Katie from Beauty and the Beach. She made me look beautiful and really listened to what I had to say. She is so talented as well. She even gave me a different hairstyle for my second outfit and changed up my makeup for me! During the shoot she made sure I looked my best and touched up anything if needed. Oh! And they had really great accessories to complete my look! These two ladies make quite a team! If they weren't doing photo shoots, and making women glamorous all day- Charlie's Angles would be calling :) I give my highest recommendation to Rani Lu Photography and Katie from Beauty and the Beach. Rani is AMAZING!! I am very shy and needless to say I was quite nervous the day of my Boudoir session. However, Rani made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and I totally felt like a supermodel for the day! Rani has a way of making you feel at ease and sexy! 5 star work! Rani did such an incredible job capturing some seriously amazing pictures. I booked a shoot with her for my fiance in prep for our wedding. I just got my CD of images in the mail (in the most timely of manners!) and I am seriously blown away with the talent and professionalism of Rani. She did an AMAZING job! I was so nervous, as many who try Boudoir for the first time are, and Rani was so great and created such a warm, inviting and comfortable atmosphere. She makes champagne drinks, which helps with the nerves, and she is one of those people who makes you feel like you've known her (and loved her) for years. Her studio is gorgeous and she does such good job helping you pose and making you feel like a supermodel. She makes you feel so gorgeous. Katie from Beauty and the Beach is also as amazing as other reviews say! She is friendly and did a fantastic job, staying for touch ups and working with different looks. Wish I could give Rani Lu a higher rating, but I wasn't even able to go through and book a session with her because she dropped off the face of the earth (the reason she is getting 2 stars is because her photos look fantastic and her prices seem very fair)! I tried to schedule time to speak with her on the phone and even though we would set up a time for her to call she never would. When we finally spoke on the phone she sounded as if I was inconveniencing her, which should have been my first clue that it wasn't going to work out. Because of her amazing reviews and beautiful work I decided to move forward with her even though I had a gut feeling that something wasn't right and contacted all the other photographers I was speaking with to let them know that I had decided to go with a different photographer. When it came to nailing down a date for our shoot we went back and forth and then all of a sudden I never heard anything ever again. It left me in a pretty awkward position since I then had to reach back out to the other photographers that I had previously turned down to ask if they would still be able to accommodate me. It could have been extenuating circumstances that kept Rani from getting back in touch with me, but judging from our previous communication I doubt it. Left me with an unprofessional taste in my mouth. read more

I recently completed my boudoir session with Rani and Katie and I have to say the experience was an absolute blast. I was EXTREMELY nervous, this isn't something I have ever done before, and I wanted to do it as a nice gift for my husband to be. Right when I walked in the door, Rani and Katie who does make-up and hair, were both very inviting and conversational. The atmosphere is very relaxed, cozy and feels so safe! My biggest worry was positioning and my face of course, I have ZERO modeling experience, but Rani literally coached me through every singe move, where to put my arms, how to relax my face and where to direct my eyes, it was exactly what I needed! Not only that, but the girls worked together to change my look about 6 times, for 3 different outfits I had a subtle change in hair, or eye shadow or lip color, they were phenomenal! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone, and these 2 ladies are top notch! I am beyond excited to see my photos, but based on the experience alone, I would do this again! She did show me a few sneak peak photos from the camera, and I was in AWE of how beautiful they were. Can't wait to see! read more

I recently booked a boudoir session for my 5th wedding anniversary. After having a baby 10 months ago, I thought it would be awesome to surprise my husband with a Little Black Book to show him I'm not just a frumpy mom in sweats but a hot mama and wife! :) I had the best experience EVER! I cannot say enough good things about Rani Lu! I recently had a boudoir shoot with her and the investment and experience was worth every penny. Rani is extremely professional and she made it easy to feel comfortable and at ease taking such intimate shots. I had a boudoir shoot with rani back in spring. I had no idea what to expect during this shoot and it all went so well. Her partner worked on my hair and makeup and then during the shoot they both made me feel so comfortable. When i got the photos back I couldn't believe how well the came out!
