So, my friend and I went over there, kind of in an obscure location (the parking lot is the entrance- kind of odd). I don't think we would've found it on our own- good thing we got some help by the owner- she walked us through one alley and then we went to another- I know, it sounds bad. It was empty though, the alleys. This one is much smaller, much more organized, and not dusty at all. Items are usable, not junky. Very nice setup. I like that most things were grouped together- so much easier to navigate. I also did not get the feeling that I would break things if I bumped into something, either. BTW The owner told us that prices are negotiable. We saw lots of neat things- red goblets at $2 a piece, what a deal (I don't need anything for my kitchen though). My friend wanted a closer look at some things (glass covered case)- the owner was nice about showing her things. Jewelry was a little higher but since the owner said "prices are negotiable" I urged my friend to ask "What's the best price you can give me for this peridot necklace?" It was marked $70. First, she said, "$50." And my friend replied, "Will you take $45?" So, great deal for a pretty piece- has two chains (I don't usually see that- I'm a bit of a jewelry enthusiast). I was happy for my friend, because she's always searching for jewelry, but nothing really caught her eye at the other places. The owner said that she gets many pieces from the auction house and that it is open to the public. We told the owner we would come there first next time for First Friday, since she closes early (she told us that she doesn't get much traffic compared to the other store on Main)- she was nice enough to walk us there and reopen for us, specifically (the other store owners called her- they are family). And since we know that prices are not set in stone, it's certainly worth coming here, now isn't it?

I hate to say it, but this "Emporium" is leaning towards the latter. In comparison to the other antique stores I visited today, this was the bottom of the barrel. I didn't actually set out to find this one. I was around the corner at The House of Funk and spotted it on my way to the next stop. Since I was there, I decided to take a chance. Most of the stuff was in piles around the place. Everything was dirty. There were a few display cases, but everything was just thrown in them on top of each other so it was almost impossible to see what they even had for sale. As I walked around, the lights suddenly came on. I didn't realize but they had the lights out, which would explain some of the inherent creepiness. The one redeeming quality of Armstrong's Emporium is possibly Armstrong? I don't know who the man was who was in charge of the place, but I assume he was the owner. He was friendly, although he told me that it is difficult to "feel life" out of the blue. I am still trying to figure out what that means or where that came from. I asked him a question about something I was looking for and he gave me a great lead. One star for that. I am just glad that I didn't get dragged down into the basement to meet The Gimp.

Had a great time browsing the many aisles and voluminous items at Antique Alley Mall in the…read morenow-bustling Arts District of Las Vegas. Surrounded by a host of restaurants, bars and unique shops (featuring both second-hand and new products), this place is sprawling. I asked the owner how many items he estimates they have, and he couldn't put a number on it -- if it's not a million, it's certainly hundreds of thousands. They've got things in literally every category imaginable, from toys and clothes and Knick Knacks to musical instruments, artworks, record albums, old magazines, and on and on. Most items are very reasonably priced, and the friendly staff let us know that they were also open to negotiating for anything on the pricier end of the spectrum (like the pristine, 3-day ticket to Woodstock autographed by Jerry Garcia, asking price $2499.00). As I said, we had a blast browsing here, and managed to find a thing or two to bring home. So, next time you're in Vegas and looking to get away from the homogenized chaos of the Strip, spend some time in the Arts District and carve out 30 minutes or more to check out what's on offer at this epic Antique shop.

I was greeted right as I walked in…read moreand the nice woman and gentleman let me know they were celebrating the life of a friend who recently passed and her husband was nice enough to donate some of her fabulous wardrobe. They had mini gift bags with a lovely picture of their friend and it was very touching gesture. They explained that the entire store was 50% off. I was like, "oh shoot... I better get a cart ." I spent around an hour looking around and found some awesome stuff. I didn't spend much time on the clothes as it was very busy and congested with people so I opted to shop around the perimeter for more home decor items. I'll definitely be back to check out the store more thoroughly. However I found a great picture frame... I'll be putting my own artwork in it but it was in great condition and large scale. I also got a timeless task lamp. Such great finds for $8 total!! What an awesome deal. This place is so cool. Will continue to recommend

We first tried all the stores on Main Street, including medusa, old mans trash, and retro vegas, but we couldn't see anything we like. Finally we turned into Josette's store, and immediately we were greeted by her. We found a loveseat that we both love, but it happened to be not for sale, since it was her own piece displayed in front of the jewelry and accessories for customers to sit when they check out the jewelry. However, since Josette can tell that we really liked it, she finally told us we could have it for $100! While she made the offer to us, she kept the apologetic tone emphasizing that since she wasn't planning on selling it, the seat was not cleaned and might need some extra maintenance. Of course we didn't mind and were really grateful that we got the one-of-a-kind chair that we can put in our family room! Her store is well organized, unlike some of the antique stores that just look like shit piling on the ground or random things everywhere, everything in her store was priced very reasonable and marked clearly. She also has one of the most beautiful handwriting I've ever seen! From our conversation with her, we found out that she was very familiar with antique, can easily point out the style and year for specific pieces of furniture, and she picks quality stuff for her store. From now on, We will definitely make it a stop everytime we come to vegas!

Very nice and knowledgeable people working here as well who can show and tell you about things you're interested in, and introduce you to things you weren't even sure you wanted before walking in. I went in looking for some antique paper currency and ended up leaving two hours later with some antique coins and books. The girlfriend had a great time as well, talking to the proprietor about cameos and picking up a new (old) necklace. I'd really recommend checking this place out.
