    The winning briefcase!
    Melissa B.

Came in to browse, when asked whether I was looking for anything in particular I threw out the first thing on my mind- a vintage briefcase. They had 5 to choose between, all in impeccable condition and at a very reasonable price.

Barter Beer + Mall in Las Vegas' Arts District is a laid-back spot where you can sip a Busch beer or White Claw lol while browsing vintage finds, local art, and quirky collectibles. The focus is on supporting creative, local businesses, making it a hub for eclectic treasures. A somewhat hidden spot with great vibes and friendly people --perfect for anyone who loves artsy, relaxed shopping.

You have to check this place out if you haven't yet. An amazing selection of vintage and handmade goodies, impressive beer selection, and cool social/event space right in the arts district!

Hi, I'm a local (nine years now) and came here with an out-of-town friend. Bartender was friendly…read morebut upon introspect (i.e., reviewing the receipt) he played us for tourists. This occurred well over a year ago (09.27.24 to be exact) so hopefully he has moved on. Bartender described himself as a "professor" of all things beer and blabbed on and on about this and that. We were drinking and enjoying a framboise lambic that I regularly have at home. He said well if you like that you have to give this a try. So, we did. He didn't mention the cost and we didn't ask. The lambic we were were drinking cost $14 per bottle/glass. We ordered ONE bottle of his recommended beer "Framboise 2022" (which was not as good as the $14 one we were drinking, btw), at a cost of $35. We were heading to a show so when the bill came we were in a hurry so paid it without reviewing it. Our bad, but much more so the bartender's as he ensured 1) a larger bill for the owner, and 2) a bigger tip for himself. I have meant to stop by to discuss with the owners but the opportunity has not presented itself. I like the place and will possibly return but never again will I be pegged a ringer for a "clueless tourist", there or anywhere in LV! P.S., I'm from NYC and never, ever did crap like that happen at any bar I ever visited -- and there were many! For the owners ... Recipt states "Server: Andrew & Rose S [owners, as I understand, not bartender's name who waited on us]", Check No. 65, 09.27.24, 6:40 p.m., Total: $85.00

The decor is perfect for a trip through time. There's a huge variety of beer between the on tap and bottled. It's the old school order at the bar and take your drinks to the table. Bartender was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The beer was served in the proper glassware. The decor has an incredible number of vintage signs, promotional displays, clocks, etc. some for beer brands no longer made. There is also a huge beer can collection. It's a very nice breaking from blinding flashing lights and loud music. Tip: From the outside you will think you're on the wrong street. There's no sign, flashing lights, folding message boards, etc. Open the door by the 222 and step into yesteryear with a modern supply chain. It's worth a visit.

That said, the drinks themselves were decent and didn't disappoint. I was gambling & soon learned that in order to get "FREE" drinks your light on the back of the machine has to turn green based on your play to qualify you for another drink BUT what I learned is it doesn't stay green for long & will go back to red so if you can't get a bartender over when your light is green for another free drink you're SOOL! You also can really see when your light is green due to the bar not having much of an area to see the reflection. I only ended up getting 2 free drinks. I did see a green reflection on the tip glass up against my machine when I was up for a free drink. The bartender Joseph sucked....I had asked him "is my light green for a drink?" & he just looked at me & walked away. OK fine but why not say "you're not eligible for a free drink so if you'd like another one you can pay for it?" because I would of but Joseph never came back to check on me. So @ that point I was done & ready to leave this bar because I wasn't getting any service nor was I winning on my poker machine so I was done with giving this place my $$$$. My friend was getting beer & gambling and the lady with the long dark hair was giving her beers (she gambled less than me but her husband had a card on file for a tab, he wasn't gambling) After we had been there for awhile she was then told "if you want your drinks comped you need a player's card" WTF?!? Talk about a way to get someone to sign up for one...that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Of course she did & ended up with only 2 comped drinks, not sure what she ended up paying for the rest? Yeap, I was definitely ready to go as I still wasn't asked "how are you doing?" "Would you like another drink?" I was sooo tempted to take my tips back but knew that wasn't the right thing to do so we left. Bye Felicia!

The notes were of spices, dried fruits, toasted caramel, and dark cocoa. The earthy hop notes bring in the extra fresh kick, rounded by a malty sweet finish. For dinner I ordered the Veganes Schnitzel which is a meat-free style of schnitzel made with soy protein and tempting spices, breaded and served crisp with potato-cucumber salad, cherry tomatoes and cranberries and it was completely vegan. I found both the beer and Schnitzel to be very flavorful. The live entertainment really added to the German experience. However, it was our server Celeste who really stole the show. The bill ended up being nearly $250, with multiple add on charges throughout the meal. The server did mention ahead of time that there would be a charge for the kids cup since they don't offer disposable cups with straws, but paying almost $9.50 total for a child's apple juice and a basic non-souvenir cup felt excessive. The pretzel also didn't clearly indicate that the beer cheese was an extra charge, and there was an additional "house charge" added to the bill as well. The food itself was decent, but the overall experience became uncomfortable after payment when the tip amount was questioned. Between the pricing and the extra fees, the experience just didn't feel worth the cost.
