This is a real thrift store! Very big, nicely organized and friendly staff. They have a little bit of everything you can imagine. The clothes are arranged by mens, women's, babies, male and female children. There are shoes and purses. They have books and movies. There is glassware and home goods. I wanted to check this out due to Salvation Army and Goodwill being such disappointments. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It was large, well lit, clean and did not smell bad (major plus!!). Good store with a lot of items to browse. Very clean except for a couple areas, like "crafts" where things were shoved so full that it was hard to dig around without knocking things on the floor. I love shopping. Always have. Despite being a middle aged father of teenagers, I don't care about sports or doing things with my hands (DIY types). I like fashion, shopping, and video games. I'm admittedly not a wealthy person, but regardless, even if I was, I'd like to think I'd still be an avid thrifter. Thrift stores are really just slightly cleaner versions of swap meets, minus the haggling and mariachi (which I find unfortunate on both accounts). And in this particular brand's case, it's efficiently and expertly owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (I.e. Mormons). It's easily the cleanest, most well organized Thrift Store I've ever been to. Compared to Goodwill, Savers, and Salvation Army thrift stores, Deseret knocks it out if the park. It's extremely well organized, properly staffed, lacks that "thrift store aroma", and is extremely efficient, much like the LDS church itself. Although at times their furniture can be priced a little obscenely high, this isn't the norm. Honestly some of the nicest furniture in my home was acquired from Deseret. They get some very high quality items donated. It's always a pleasant shopping experience at Deseret. Plain and simple. read more

This store intentionally selling broken electonic stuff. When I brought the electronic stuff that is broken and tried to exchange it. The manager simply says final sales on the receipt and No return. You better start posting that policy everywhere in the store about that, so people can see it. It may be illegal selling broken electronic stuff. The manager need to know better. read more

I was just curious about this place since I'm a big fan of Desert Industries. Ok this place is not like my favorite one that's located on Craig road. It does have some hidden gems. If we go to Craig road there's a lot of nice stuff and they go really fast. Over here hardly people come to this area. But I actually came up today with an item. Normally a WONDERFUL experience... today was horrible for my donation. A large Hispanic guy was thoroughly pissed off before I arrived, and clearly did not want to help anyone! He was very rude and complained the whole time I was there.... He complained bitterly that they were under staffed!! This was a great stop on my trip to Vegas. I found amazing items for a true thrift store price! Regular shirts ~$4 with pants generally lingering around the $7-$8 mark. They have plenty of cute trinkets and kitchen items for a really good price too! I got a stainless steel garlic press for $1.50! Really, the utter worst and the management SUCKS! This place has become an overpriced indoor junkyard. Basically all the stuff left over from garage sales that no one wants is in here for 10 times as much as garage sale prices. The items are often extremely dirty and they never restock during the day so the later you go, the worse the selection is. We took a chance to try it one more time...lol Its quite out of our way and we got there at least 20 minutes before closing. They had TURNED ALL THE LIGHTS OFF so people would leave. I asked if they had a power outtage and they said "No, we turn the lights off 30 minute before closing" SO RUDE! Why do you force your customers to shop in the dark? You are either open or closed make up your mind! Also, they had locked the "yard part of the store, making it much much less of a selection. Shopping in the dark...I had forced myself to find one thing worth the money and when I got to the register, it was closer to the front door and since there was more light, I could now see the item was cracked. I just left it at the front register and walked out. What a horrid waste of time and gas. Add al of this to the no return policy on electric items that you are unable to test and its just really one to cross off your list. read more

This location is a hit & miss for me. Sometimes I find things but most times I don't. But like all thrift stores they have no control of what is donated to them. Timing is everything. This location is smaller than their store on Craig Road. Inside is clean & fairly organized. Prices are reasonable. Employees are usually nice & helpful. It's still worth checking out. read more

Came up on the strip and felt like popping tags on a budget so I ended up here at the Deseret Industries. Found a couple clean CDs, such as Kool and the Gang and the Scintas, which is an act on the Las Vegas Strip, formerly from Atlantic City. I could not tell you how happy I was to find these gems. One man's trash is certainly another man's treasure. I played the cds in my car the rest of my trip and on my way home. 30 songs for $2! So much cheaper than Apple's iTunes. lol I'll be back again for sure if in the area. If you're in the mood for some treasure hunting, I'm telling you there's nothing else like it. You'll find something here at the Desert Industries, if you have the time and a few bucks. I love searching for the needle in the haystack so to speak. Finding something is like a jackpot to me. So when someone is in the store, they need to track down an employee as none are around. And when you do get one, they don't know how to answer a simple question which makes me question their employment practices. So items in the store seemed not to be marked. And a couple items seem to have stickers on them that had double typed prices on the tags. I brought the subject up to the first male employee, and he looked at me very strange. He could not even read the price himself on the price tag in the back area of the store. Also there was another price tag over that one at first the price tag look like it said $49. $49 is a bit steep for a broken outdoor table with multiple strands of ran on wound around the legs plus the table wobble badly. For $49, this is a joke. Then I mentioned it to the cashier upfront. She never reacted and kept checking me out with the items I already had. I had said something to the manager, and he never even acknowledged my complaint. He never went in the back to check the item nor did he ask me to show him the item. There is something wrong with the communication in the store as well as the employees. So fair warning make sure each item is properly priced or will be misread by the employees because the tags seem to be double marked. The store seems a little small and I like the selection much better at the north desert industries store.this one is not as well. Won't be back. read more

The store is well organized. It's clean and easy to navigate. The clothing is hit or miss. Sometimes I can find some reasonable items others are a big No. The prices are about the same as Savers. I usually come here for household items like wicker baskets frames for crafts a lamp. These items are more reasonable and of better quality than the other thrifts I've visited. read more

Was just at this location to donate a large car load of Christmas decorations and other misc items , they have a sign up that states you have to go to their website to make an appointment to donate , this sucks big time , we have donated items to them for years but will no longer donate or shop there .
