I was having a hard time breathing. I put the mask on, while trying to tell her I couldn't breathe and she went crazy, caused a scene & went to get her husband, Dr. McSweeney. Mask wearing is NOT a law, contrary to Sally's lies and false information. I have been to doctors offices, dentists and a hospital, none of which required me to wear a mask. There isn't one single place I go where masks are required, medical facilities included. This is a dentists office. Masks come off to treat children. They are literally inside children's mouths. I'm guessing Sally doesn't actually believe her mask and face shield work. I sure hope Sally & Tim McSweeney are masking up in their daily activities outside the dentists office. I hope they're wearing masks at the grocery store, country club, etc.. If not, this is all just for show. We chose to leave. At $5-6,000 for braces for each child, they just lost $10,000+ from us. I will gladly spend my money elsewhere and you should too. If Sally is this unhinged before we were even seen, I can only imagine how dreadful our entire experience would have been at McSweeneys.

One of my children was a devoted thumb sucker and was a hard case. Dr. McSweeney never gave up, was never intimidated by the situation and was so determined to provide her with perfection. My other child broke their jaw and was attacked by a dog all while wearing braces which complicated and prolonged the treatment. Dr. McSweeney took it all in stride and has continued to deliver amazing results. His staff is super accommodating with appointments, school and athletic schedules, flaky teenagers, less than perfect use of elastics & teeth brushing, etc. They are kind, thoughtful and patient people who are devoted to their work and their patients. I would go back to them 1000 times over and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great orthodontic provider!

I was told all about sleep apnea. When I asked him to focus on my teeth, he became upset, and I was basically told to leave. While I realize they are "holistic" and dental health affects the body, I went to a dentist becuase I was focusing on the health of my teeth, the teeth should be the focus of the visit,In hind site, they are listed as prothodentists, I think he was laying the groundwork to sell me fitted device for sleep apnea. Steep, but we want to take care of her amalgams safely so we figured it was worth it. She arrived for her appointment six minutes late and was told to wait in her car. She wasn't brought in until 30 minutes after her scheduled appointment, the dentist spent under 10 minutes with her and said "you don't have that much metal in your mouth" before leaving the room. My mom asked for the treatment plan and costs and the front desk staff said they'd have to talk to the dentist who was now unavailable, so my mom said to just email her with it. The dentist gave her no details about mercury amalgam removal, what it entails, why it's important, and what she could expect. Nothing. It was an enormous waste of time and money. Feels very much like an office consumed with making money, not caring for and informing patients.

Everything looked clean, and the design of the place was warm and not intimidating. Emily Plumadore, the friendly hygienist, explained calmly what was going to happen. The taking of X-rays went fast (additionally, the equipment used was new and definitely seemed the latest). The cleaning was painless, with Emily regularly checking in on me to see that everything was OK. Dr. Maria Szmigiel, a warm and friendly professional, introduced herself. We talked about things just to get to know each other. What really stood out to me was that Dr. Szmigiel asked Emily, the hygienist, for her findings, thereby showing that she trusted Emily's professional input. Following her examination, Dr. Szmigiel patiently shared her findings with me, outlining potential treatment options. I never felt that I was "pushed" to accept an expensive treatment, something I have experienced often with dentists. I felt that Dr. Szmigiel accepted and respected my "conservative" approach to treatment. Nevertheless, I place my trust in her when necessary. Upon check-out, I observed that the clinic's administrative system, including finances, demonstrated a focus on supporting the patient, not just the clinic. When I called, I did not have my insurance card handy and could not remember the name of my new insurance. I had thought "Northeast Delta Dental" was my insurance, but it was not. I called back a couple of weeks later and upon giving my name, Carrie(?) briskly stated "We do not take Northeast Delta Dental!". I calmly explained I had my card and was happy to confirm it actually says "Dental Blue". She advised, rather shortly, that Dental Blue was not in network with them, so I asked about "CBA Blue" (as that was the next name on my insurance card). She rudely exclaimed they're not in network with them, either. I called CBA Blue and was advised that they use the Blue Cross Blue Shield network. If the office had only allowed me to give more information, I imagine they could have understood that they were, in fact, in network. This is not how potential new patients should be treated. I'll be looking elsewhere.
