This place is TRASH!!! Look I always support older workers but this old grumpy guy working in the middle chair is the worst I've ever seen. Hands shake like he is holding a vibrator. Currently here having my son get a hair cut. Got here at 12:00pm Was told to wait for barber. 12:15 barber calls my son. Barber then stated he can not do the request hair cut for my son. Fohawk with a line outline one side. Fine. We waited for the next barber. When she called my son at 12:40pm, She then stated she doesn't do any lines as a part on men hair. Fine, I said can you the hair cut with out the line. She responded with a look on her face and no motivation to work. I understand it's Sunday and which my make people feel lazy but please don't work if your not want to. I am writing this ad for my son, but keep in mind I had my hair cut previously by the same lady one month ago. 7/10 is what I would have given her in her skills. 3/10 for attitude. So I've been taking my sons here for a couple of years but recently they've had change of owner and employees. Idk why I keep coming here because they never listen to what I ask them to do for the boys. Today probably was the worst day since this barber didn't hear shit I asked. I asked for zero on the sides, medium fade and a little longer on top. He did the zero alright but all the way up his head!! He now has a military buzz cut which is NOT what I asked for!!! Hair does grow back, yes indeed, but your profession is to LISTEN to what the customer wants not what you think is gonna look good! Or maybe it's because that's all he knows!!! My other son is getting a cut from the lady here who's done him before... So I'll keep my fingers crossed. Next time and future cuts for the boys, I'll be going back to Frankie's down the street. She even help trimmed my little girl's bang free of charge, after I told her, her hair was messed up by a previous person. Such a sweet lady. Went there during lunch on a Friday. There were three people before me, and only one barber was available. He was able to get through the cuts in about 5-10 minutes, so I didn't end up waiting very long. I didn't give him a very precise description of what I wanted, but he was able to work with it anyway. Ended up with a clean cut that I can't complain about. Tipped a bit because the stories were actually pretty fun to listen to! Overall it's a nice and laid back place to get cheap and simple cuts. I've been going to Frank and Al's for over 15 years. Al's my barber. We don't have to exchange a word. I plop down in the chair; he cuts my hair. He remembers exactly what I want. This place is old school, the kind of barbershop my Dad took me to when I was a kid. The decor is pure manliness. A cheap flatscreen hangs on the wall with a broomstick supporting some lame excuse for an antenna. There is usually a little too much hair on the floor. Who cares? Clearly, no female has had anything to do with the design of this place. The only women to be seen are the Moms who bring their boys in for a trim in the afternoons. They know they are visitors to a hallowed man space where young boys get their buzz cuts and old men have their nose hairs trimmed in no-frills manly solidarity. Haircuts are $6. A hands-down bargain. If you can, avoid the afternoons, especially later in the week when the Moms descend on the place. Mornings are best. Save your cash. Forget the stylists. I've been going to Frank and Al since I was in junior high. For a $6 price-tag, I get good conversations, personal care, and a great haircut. I tend to go with Frank as he tends to be more even in his fades, and takes more time (pays more attention to detail). If you want a nice quick cut with a couple jokes thrown in, go with Al.
