Although there are many laundry businesses on College Point Blvd, Boulevard Laundry is the most northern of them all, conveniently serving the surrounding neighborhood around 9th Ave to the end of College Point Blvd and the surrounding areas. The 9th Ave location doesn't have the hustle and bustle I often find in the more popular areas of College Point Blvd from 14th Ave and up so although parking is not great, it is easier than parking near the main areas of College Point Blvd where there are metered parking spots. In front of Boulevard Laundry is a the Q25 bus stop so nobody can directly park in front of the laundromat although they often do. Often times, I can find a spot on 9th Ave diagonally across the street. Either way, unless I'm doing laundry during peak time on the weekends (which seem to be Sunday afternoons,) parking is of little concern. The actual store space is not as big as the other ones on College Point Blvd, but I come to Boulevard Laundry for the convenience.
Once inside, there are laundry machines that do triple loads and then when we move further in there is the standard double load laundry machines. On our right is a folding area where people can fold their clothes. There are two TVs hanging from the walls for mild entertainment. One nice feature is a change machine dispenser located on the right side of the wall near the main counter. I can feed in a $1, $5, $10, or $20 and the quarters are dispensed out. I don't like the hassle so I put in $20 at a time and then slowly use the quarters up on each trip. There is a sign in English and Spanish that states the change dispenser is not to be used for the bus. The Laundromat is a straight aisle and there isn't much room to walk through or push a laundry cart through.
I typically use the two-load washers, but I don't remember exactly how many quarters it takes. The time is only 27 minutes per wash so I usually walk around or stick around the area to pass the time. There is a bench right outside for customers in case they want to spend the time outdoors. There are two deli's right next door as well. The dryer is 25 cents for 9 minutes. I usually go anywhere between 45-54 minutes. Towels need more drying time. There are signs that state customers may not wash anything other than clothes.
The Boulevard Laundry also has drop-off service, but I never use it.
Though, I wish I had my own washer at home, I can only get the next best thing: Boulevard Laundry. Sadly, ever since Sparkling Laundry opened up on College Point Blvd, I've been going there instead due to their free wi-fi service, but Boulevard laundry is definitely cheaper by .25 cents.
