Their membership plans did not only save my family money but alleviated the concern of not knowing what to do and the worry of being taken advantage of at a time of need. The staff at United Hebrew ensured that everything done was kept within the tradition and the deceased's wishes. This was all done while maintaining the highest standards, respect, and dignity. The staff was available to "hold my hand" throughout the entire arrangement and post-funeral process, and I know they do the same for all their members. My grandfather had the foresight to join United Hebrew Community, to then encourage my father to join, and he has done the same to me. December 27th, 2023 The staff at this funeral home made a…read moresad and difficult situation harder, my family and I had to push to have our requests fulfilled at every turn. Although a few staff members were very nice and supportive. One was very rude, unprofessional, and lacking in customer service skills. We could only meet at night, even then they showed up late for scheduled meetings. The obituary had misspelled words and the spacing was off, of course we requested corrections (which they initially wanted to change us for). After making the requested changes, they still passed out the incorrect obituaries. We were never placed on their site for out of state family to view and/or send flowers. I would not recommend this funeral home. They are extremely overpriced for the services provided, they take advantage of you during your time of grief. The only thing they did do well was, they made our "loved one" look really good. We are thankful that we had family members that were clear-headed enough to guide and assist us as we were grieving. The young man from the funeral home who directed our loved one's service played the piano and sang like a pro--he was gracious, empathetic, and quietly dignified. They took extra care to find a preacher from my relative's country to lead the services--that was such a thoughtful touch. Please move away from money grubbing funeral homes like the one in Canarsie that everyone goes to -- they don't care about you nor your family member. Harmony proves that you can provide an important service to your community without emotionally nor financially blackmailing families to pay for unnecessary costs.
