George, Krissie and Amy especially were caring, professional and very accommodating throughout the entire process.

My family has chosen to use the services of a different funeral home due to distressing events in dealing with Jordan's. My father was a veteran and yet, with 12 days between his death and the funeral, there were no military honors afforded him at the time of the funeral even though we requested it. His cremains were presented to us at the time of the funeral in an urn. Three months later, Calverton National Cemetary notified us that the funeral director had dropped off an additional bag of ashes indicating that the cremains in the bag also belonged to my father. To say we were confused would be an understatement. We had the urn at home on my mother's mantle and now another bag of ashes purporting to be our father's. We reached out to the director, had meetings with him, and were refunded our money. But what still remains is how we could have over 12lbs of ashes from a 5'5", 145lb, 92yo man who died from bone cancer. Needless to say, while Jordan's refunded our money, no one ever helped us to resolve or answer the question of why there were 2 separate containers of ashes. And, who do they really belong to?

I remember driving over from the city and it felt like it took forever to get there. After scrounging around to find out where my mother-in-law, Janie Dalton (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSmid=46803934&GRid=11704630&) was buried, we finally found the spot. Unfortunately there wasn't a marker, just a little number on the ground. I asked my husband why his mother didn't have a headstone and he said that the family didn't have the money for one. So I told my mom who was outraged. We tried to get a headstone, only to find out that they only allow "brass" markers and at the time the $750 seemed like too much for our budget. Years later I had the money, but the price jumped up to $1200 and I needed to have the information about his dad, who is also buried in the same plot. The problem, nobody has the information on dad, and doesn't seem motived it get it. I know it seems kinda funny, because it's been 2 decades since I've been there, but I feel like everyone should have a place that their relatives can come and visit and remember. Maybe when technology gets better, I'll find the info on dad.

My mom passed away in 2012, and she is buried in Springfield Cemetery located in Springfield BLVD, Laurelton NY. My brothers and I couldn't get her a headstone due to financial issues but now that we have money for it, we were excited to get her one. That excitement went away when the cemetery was taken by Rockville Cemetery. For at least 2 months I've been calling the number that's on the website 516-593-0411 and also a second number 516-593-4379 and getting a hold of someone is HORRIBLE! The phone would ring and ring and no one would pick up and you can't even leave any voicemails because it wasn't set up. It took me WEEKS to get someone to pick up and when someone did pick up, I was able to speak with someone, I don't know if he's the manager or supervisor, but his name is Yannick Anderson. He took down my email and informed me that he was going to email me regarding brochures by the end of the day and I did not get anything, so I called again a week later and of course, no one picked up and when someone did pick up the following day when I called, I spoke to another male who wasn't Yannick and again, took down my email and informed me how busy they were, etc. the same B.S. as before. I kept on calling and calling and when I got a hold of Yannick, he informed me that he was going to email me again after his graveyard person comes in at 10:00am because they were in the middle of a burial. AGAIN, I got NOTHING. I kept calling every week and when I did spoke with YANNICK AGAIN, he gave me an email to send in my mom's information, apologies, talked all nice on the phone, etc. and he was going to email me back. THAT EMAIL WAS SENT OUT ON JUNE 30, 2026, and no reply. I even checked all of my junk emails, and nothing was there from them. Before that email was sent out, I spoke with YANNICK ANDERSON and told him that I was going to give him a month to reply back to my email and he said okay and he never did. I called back on 8/3/26 5 times and then again on 8/4/26 3 times and left a voicemail (FINALLY FIXED THE VOICEMAIL) and till this day, I haven't heard nothing. I even sent out a letter to them as well and 0 response. It's crazy because when I called for the first time to the Jewish cemetery that is located next to the Springfield cemetery to get a phone number, etc., the lady told me that getting a hold of someone is hard and no one ever pick up or return calls. I even tried calling company that might associate with Rockville regarding gravestones, they even told me the same thing about no one responding, etc. I thought those people were joking but, it looked like that they weren't. You have no idea how heartbroken my brothers and I especially me are. I got the run arounds from Yannick Anderson and his other employee. I understand that you don't have a lot of people to help and you guys are never in the office because of burials, etc. which Yannick Anderson mentioned, but not returning calls, responding to emails, giving false promises is NOT OKAY. Yannick Anderson is aware that I no longer live on the East Coast and for that, I believe that he doesn't care AT ALL and chose to give me the run around and not pick up my calls when they see my number. I've been wanting to get my mom a headstone for so many years and to be let down by the people that supposed to help is NOT okay. I have no other people/number to call from that office, etc., only that number/people. I've pretty much given up at this point because of being on the West Coast, and I really didn't want to. If I was still living there, TRUST ME, it would be different. I'm really emotional while typing this review because it's not okay at all and it took everything in me NOT to leave a review because it's not something that I do BUT for this situation, I chose to because it involves my mom. I wish they had better people working there or have more people to help or a different company would've taken over Springfield Cemetery.

She handled our loved one's ashes with care and ensured we had everything we needed. As for the remaining staff there that day, a dark haired man, Roger or Rob, was very unkind towards my family and me when picking up our loved one's ashes. His demeanor and behavior towards us made an already sad experience worse. He was very cold and I was ready to write it off until there was a painfully noticeable difference in the engagement between my family and another woman who was there about a loved one as well. When you lose a loved one, you hope to be treated with kindness and compassion. While I can understand that everyone may not have the capacity to do so, given the line of business this is truly unacceptable. I hope that going forward, EVERYONE who walks through the doors of Macken Mortuary is met with the kindness and compassion they deserve.

Horrific experience…read more I accompanied a friend to pick up the remains of their spouse today and it was one of the worst encounters in recent memory. We walked in and were greeted by a man (without a mask) with a, "Hey, what's up, guys?". The casual and insensitive tone was a bit jarring but not a big deal. But the transactional nature of the process was. We were treated as if someone had accidentally dropped a delivery at the wrong address and we were mildly inconveniencing him by picking it up. When another friend asked the man to kindly put on a mask, he was told (not once but twice) that he was welcomed to wait outside. Due to great restraint, nothing else was said but my widower fried was clearly confused and distressed. Very quickly, another gentleman stepped in to finish the "transaction", which tells me this was not the first time this level of disrespect had happened. The whole wretched experience of picking up the remains of a loved one was made surreal by an insensitive and uncaring man who has clearly been doing this too long. I highly recommend trusting your loved ones and their families anywhere else.
