Bouley's Painting completed a paint job and installation of lattice on my front porch. Prior to them coming out, they assured me via text that they would protect the porch railing, house siding, and walk path. After the project was completed, we reported to Bouley's on 3 separate occasions that there was paint splatter all over our porch railing and siding of our house. It has now been 2 weeks and we still have not heard a single reply from this company. We have reported them to the BBB as this permanent paint cannot be removed from our railings or house siding. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the lack of communication and accepting responsibility for their error. Additionally, it was my understanding this company understood porch repairs/maintenance. We had them add lattice to the lower portion of our porch - however, they did not communicate with us how it should be installed. There are no corner supports for the lattice so its just hanging off the porch and easy to be snagged by any animal, lawn equipment, natural weather, etc. They also screwed it to the outside of porch cross beam instead of on the underside of it where it would be less visible and a cleaner look. They also used gray screws on white lattice so you can clearly see the screw heads. All in all, this was a poorly done job and the fact that they are ignoring us after creating a permanent mess at our property is extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend this company in the slightest. Jon Bouley gave excellent service, and went above and beyond. I am a little late in posting, but I would refer this company to anyone. They care about their customers, were easy to communicate with, always on time And reasonably priced. They painted my home and Jon even power washed my home and fixed a door issue for me without charge. read more

John Bouley painted my house in Columbia, Connecticut, between July 7 and July 16, 2021. He agreed to do ceiling repair, take down a popcorn ceiling in the kitchen, paint all the ceilings, louvered doors, trim, walls in some rooms. In my opinion, this was the worst contractor experience ever. John got fed up on the last day because he underestimated the job and bid it too low. I'd planned to throw him a few extra bucks when I asked him about removing the paint he got on my iron stair railing and some other places. John proceeded to scream at me about "nitpicking". He said my railing was rusty anyway (which I suppose is how he justified getting trim paint on it was OK.) He called me names and called my home "a dump". He left the job without finishing the doors, leaving the ceiling in an unfinished state, and leaving paint on many surfaces including bathroom vanities and cabinets, furniture, my jacket, carpeting, and tile flooring. There is paint on all the doorknobs, hinges, and window hardware. He even got paint on my Mr. Coffee. The mess he left was epic. He did not use tape and did a poor job of protecting surfaces. We are still finding paint in places it shouldn't be and no paint in places he agreed to paint. I would have held some money out of the final payment but I wanted him out of my house. He usually arrived around 10 AM and typically left before 4:30 PM. I think this job (paint 9 rooms & ceiling repair) was too big for him. He told me the last person he painted for gave him a bottle of champagne. Not this time. I was glad to have him gone from the house and now have to figure out how to fix the mess he created. I had Jon Bouley do two jobs, one exterior deck stain, one interior ceiling, wall repair and paint. The deck came in pretty poor. Very sloppy and didn't cover well. It's a very big deck, sucked in a lot of coats, and he worked a very long time. The result was an unfinished look. We discussed it and as the season was running out the plan was to tidy it up next season even if it was at additional cost. Over the winter he and son did ceiling and wall repair inside and that went well. We also discussed the deck for the following spring. Spring, then summer came. In the meantime houseguests were asking me about the look of the new deck (not too good). When I called Jon HE WENT BALLISTIC SCREAMING that I know nothing about decks and wouldn't discuss anything further. I reminded him about our previous conversations and that I was willing to pay more (as he must have under bid) to finish. He then hung up and will accept no further contact. Jon Bouley & his son Drew painted the interior of my condo (walls & trim). Their work is phenomenal! He has the most happy & positive attitude. He was such a ray of sunshine to work with. I have recommended him to so many friends & family already. During our consultation, he pointed out other things in my home that he could help fix. He not only painted, but did so much maintenance around my home. He fixed broken closet doors, ceiling cracks, backsplash in my kitchen, fixed my insulation issues & so much more.
