The business had the lights on, the open sign flashing, people in the waiting area, a tattoo artist and someone in a chair, and an employee standing at the front. When we walked in he said "we're closed". When I said the sign is flashing open he points to the small numbers on the bottom of the door that read the operation times. And the guy was a not very nice. It was embarrassing and he was disrespectful. My two friends and I after years decided to get matching tattoos. We were hoping for a bonding experience. Instead we were rushed to pick our tattoo and the artist decided to draw one up before we even decided firmly what we wanted then we were sent to different tattoo artist. My friends got theirs but I opted out after my artist was rude. He was even reprimanded by another artist. Not a good experience whatsoever. Do not recommend and avoid Dennis. read more

My friend and I went in to see Barron for daith piercings. I was able to email him ahead of time to ask questions and set up an appointment, which was very helpful. He was really professional; helped us pick out earrings that not only looked great, but were perfect for our first time cartilage piercings. He even was able to change the metal color of my friend's earring! You can customize it any way you want, who knew? When it came to the piercing, he was quick, super clean, and frankly... I thought it would hurt a lot more. I'm sure the reason it didn't, and still doesn't, is because this guy really knows his stuff. I got my septum pierced here, I was a little unsure about it because the place opened about 3 months ago but honestly, I couldn't have chosen a better place. I called beforehand with a few questions and after they were answered I decided to go in right away. Don't be scared off because it is a newer place, they seem like they have a lot of experience. The place is really nice, it looks small when you go in, but there's an upstairs and a downstairs. The atmosphere is great and everyone inside was very friendly and welcoming. I'm only 17 and I've never had any tattoos or piercings before but I didn't feel uncomfortable nor was I treated rudely (I've heard some places have a very "i'm better than you" vibe toward someone who's new to tattoos/piercings) I was pierced by Barron, and he did such an amazing job. He made sure to explain everything to me about aftercare and how he was going to do the actual piercing. It was very sanitary and he showed me that everything was sterile which I know my mom liked to see. I was pretty nervous but he was very patient with me when I asked questions. The actual piercing was so much easier than I expected. He pierced it freehand with no clamps, and it was virtually painless. I have a low pain tolerance but all I felt was a pinch and a weird sensation when he put the jewelry in. The whole procedure was quick and I couldn't believe how perfectly straight it looked, he picked out the right size jewelry and everything. I have a fear of needles and when I felt a little dizzy afterward he brought me a bottle of water and let me have a minute to cool down before I got up. I would also have to add that the jewelry is very high quality and I was given a cleaning solution. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would recommend going here to anyone looking for a piercing. Their high quality work is definitely worth the price. read more

I've been getting tattooed at Boundless for a bit now. I was going to the shop that the artists were originally from(I choose not to mention it) in Downers Grove. Boundless is very clean, very friendly, and the artists are all award winners! Their work is amazing and, the caliber of their work never ceases to amaze! They have a private piercing room, a cool waiting/lounge area and, an upstairs loft area used by one of the artists. I had been wanting a tattoo for a while now and since this place had great reviews on Yelp, I decided to give it a try! My friend and I showed up, without an appointment, which was cool since walk-ins were welcomed. My friend and I were able to talk to the tattoo artist and the only thing that I didn't like was that there wasn't an area to print, or most importantly, scale the tattoo idea we had. Maybe this isn't common in tattoo shops, but they have been at the shops that I have gone to. The price was reasonable and the artist did a good job and was friendly. I moved away from the area, but if I still lived close by I would go back for smaller tattoos, not big pieces. Went on a whim, ended up having a really great experience. I had my tattoo done by Andy - he does some really great old school work. He and the other workers were all super friendly, and the shop was a fun, relaxed environment. They're next to the comic shop for a reason - they all love that stuff! Very clean spot with a great music playlist! Came here a few weeks ago to get my double cartilage and it was a great experience. Barron is an awesome piercer who communicates and conversares very well. I love how they have a sanitation strip to show the cleanliness of their processes. I previously went to Claire's for my cartilage so many years ago and that got infected. After I got this piercing with Barron , it's been clean and I've had no problems. Went in today to have my daith done and my lobe re-pierced because I thought it had closed up. Kayla was awesome! She has a great personality and is good at piercing. I was a little nervous about my daith being done, but she was good at putting me at ease.
