At intermountain family clinic in Bountiful it's not about the patient!! long story short they cancelled my original appointment because the Dr was Out. I told them I couldn't wait anymore so they got me a 720am. I called before 7am letting them know I was a bit behind. Switch Board operator told me I had 10-15 min of grace time. When I got there though I was told I couldn't be seen. " I watched you walk in. and I looked at the clock and you are one minute passed 10min." the receptionist told me. " I'll call back and ask if they will see you still." And then..." sorry you are too late to be seen today." Are you kidding me!!?!? no one in the whole clinic, it's 7:20 am and you won't see me for being a min late. Intermountain health doesn't care about their patients. And a "Sorry" with a nasty smirk on your face is the nail for me. Don't waste your time. read more

I've used the Bountiful Instacare over a couple of decades for those medical situations that either don't require a specialist or those that would require an actual surgery or life saving treatment. Things like a puncture wound, an infection, a respiratory condition, material in the eye; or even a Covid test. For those things the cost for treatment is much less than the emergency room and they aren't putting your life in jeopardy by taking a bit time time to deal with. You can typically expect a wait in the lobby after checking in with the friendly staff. After your expected wait, you'll be called into the patient treatment area by a nurse. Most of those I've met are quite friendly and caring. They'll take some vitals, ask you a few questions about your medical history and in my case, yesterda, was quite empathetic about my condition. Once they leave your patient room, the wait begins. Yesterday, it took about 1/2 hour for a light tap on the door after which a youngish ginger doctor appeared in my room. He then asked me to explain what was going on and after I described how sick I felt, and how long it had lasted, he basically just dismissed me and said I was on top of the sickness and it would be better over the next five days. He did a quick breathing check and looked down my throat. After his expressing his diagnosis of an upper respiratory virus, he suggested getting over the counter meds and left through the sliding door, basically just writing me off after a 2 minute checkup, if it even lasted that long. His demeanor was dismissive and arrogant. It seems that Instacare gets second tier doctors to work there as many or their doctors just seem to be miserable people with poor people skills. I really wish IMC would provide an out the door survey to pinpoint these bad actors in their staff. As for me, I was left dissatisfied by my appointment and felt it could have been handled more professionally. I suppose I'll continue to use this facility out of necessity but only when I really feel I have to as my experiences at Instacare have in general been sub-par in their overall quality. read more

I took my wife here when she was sick and they got us in and out of our appointment pretty quick and the doctor was very informative and got us exactly what we needed. My 2 year old daughter has been sick the past few days with a high fever, runny nose, watery eyes, and fatigue. My mother in-law was just as sick a week prior with a positive Covid test. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that my daughter probably fell ill with the same sickness. We knew as long as we were treating her with Tylenol and lots of fluids and rest we hoped that she would be okay and the sickness would just pass. Today she woke up with a very swollen right eye, I had to call in to work and decided to seek medical treatment because of the severity of her swollen eye and wanted to make sure in a medical perspective that her symptoms weren't worsening. It's safe to say that this is the worst urgent care visit I have ever had in my life. We were seen by WALLEN,MD,ANTHONY R. Who immediately after entering the room question why I was requesting a Covid test for my daughter and also her older sister (lives with her and is always in contact with) and started interrogating me with questions because I was on a Medicaid insurance and asked me if I knew how much these Covid tests cost in a doctors office and who exactly would be paying for that.. I was completely baffled by the question and I sat there in disbelief, and then he answered very rudely "ME" as if I was there for his money. I was so thrown off by this experience and his obsession with my insurance provider. I almost felt like he wanted to deny me and my children extra help and really the basic inspection of my sick children because "HE" would be the one paying for it with his tax dollars. I am a single pregnant mother of one sick 2 year old and a potentially sick (hopefully not) 3 year old. I've never had an experience like this in my life and felt like the DR knew I was upset because his name wasn't on the report I had to do digging to find his name to appropriately write this review. To say I'm sick to my stomach of this "DR" is an understatement and hope others aren't treated the same by this man. Also both tests came back positive. read more

Had to visit two times in two weeks. My first visit was for ankle biter #3 on a Saturday. She was congested and irritable. Hadn't slept a wink the night before. Thought it might be an ear infection. The reception staff was great, the nurse who took me back was great. Then I waited...waited...waited and guess what? Waited! You know when you get to the point where you are wondering if they completely forgot about you? Maybe closed up shop without remembering you are there? Finally a very grouchy doctor marched in, chastised me for using Instacare for a kid that wasn't even sick. Barely looked at the kid and sent us home. Guess what? After another terrible morning at home I took kid to regular pediatrician and got a double ear infection diagnosis. Terrible, terrible terrible. Don't bother. Medical assistant was complaining she was given all the crappy patients today. Guess what? She helped me. I was polite, quiet & did NOTHING but sit in the room for an hour till the doctor said I needed bandaging. I almost left. Could've done it myself. I unfortunately have visited this InstaCare more times than I would care to, either for myself or my daughter. Overall, I find the staff and Dr's to be very friendly and knowledgable, and most importantly never feel they are trying to "rush" through the care and solution they offer to move more patients through. I don't enjoy going to the Dr anymore than the next person, but this InstaCare is a great solution for those late night or weekend needs. read more

Well over an hour wait for a drug test. It was not busy at all and there was one person before me. I have worked in health care for years and had to monitor people for drugs tests Before. I know it should not take this long. very very slow. make sure to clear your entire schedule and bring something to do for the long and slow wait. or see if you can go to a different place. not worth the wait read more

Very poor service. They made me and my wife wait 3 hrs in the car with our 2 kids both under 2 to get tested for COVID. We called them to get updated on what was going on and was told we were 'next' But as we waited to be called in we watched them call several others in. it was very unprofessional and disappointing. read more

I had to take my daughter to the Bountiful Instacare because the back of her earring was stuck inside of her ear. When we arrived there was only 1 person in line in front of us to be checked in and nobody in the waiting room. There were 2 front desk ladies checking people in. Both of them were available but neither one of them even looked up or said anything to let us know they were aware of our existence. It took 22 minutes until one of them finally checked in the person in front us. We were next to be checked in. 1 front desk woman was checking in the person that was in front of us that had a mountain of paper work she needed to fill out but was not asked to sit down to fill it out and bring it back up once she was done. The other front desk woman was available to check us in however she proceeded to ignore us. We continued to stand in line waiting to be called up for an additional 27 minutes. The front desk lady never once acknowledged us or said "I will be with you in just a moment". I had my 2 daughters both under the age of 5 that were bored and no longer accepting my answer of it will just be another minute and then it will be our turn. I finally asked the woman that was ignoring us if she was working. She responded in an irritated voice that yes she is working and she could help us now but acted put out the entire time. It was a total of 49 minutes just to get us checked in and it was not busy. Nobody else was in the waiting room!! Totally infuriating!!! Once we were checked in we had to wait another 23 minutes until our name was called. Once in the room the nurse got all of our information and then said the doctor will be right in. 24 minutes later he came in to see what needed to be done and said that the nurse will be right in to put some numbing cream on my daughters ear. 18 minutes later she came in with a person she was training. It literally took them 15 minutes just to scan the cream they were using Into the computer and apply to my daughters ear. The nurse said we had to wait for the cream to numb the ear for 10 minutes and then the doctor would be right back to finish up. After 27 minutes went by I finally opened the door to the nursing station to ask if they forgot about us only to find the doctor sitting at a desk surfing the web. He got right up looking embarrassed and apologized and came straight to our room. The procedure took less than 5 minutes. We spent a little over 2 and a half hours waiting to have a 5 minute procedure done. The staff and doctors there have no regard for people's time. And absolutely no care or concern how stressful it can be to keep 2 young children entertained and quiet for that amount of time. Every person we had to interact with except for the nurse was unprofessional and not friendly at all. Especially the front desk women who were just flat out rude! Unfortunately I have had to bring my girls to this same Instacare several times in the past years and almost every time we have had the same experience with the ridiculous amount of wait time. And the most infuriating part is they were not busy any of those times so there is no excuse for the horrendous wait. Because of the way we were treated during this recent visit that was my last straw! I will never use the Bountiful Intermountain Instacare again! read more

This place is awful. Today I gave it a second chance and they failed me. The 1st time I was there my son presented with RSV and they sent us away with nothing to treat symptoms or even prepare me for the worst to come. When I arrived at my regular pediatrician the next day we ended up in the hospital for 3 days and oxygen for 2 weeks. This time I went with my oldest son after my youngest came down with influenza at daycare so when my oldest presented similar symptoms. I though i should take him in and get the cough med and the flu med for him. I knew what he had and what was going on. This should have been a no brainer. Instead of looking him over and providing care they sent me away. They are a do nothing shop. They take your money, waste your time and potentially harm your life. read more

This is the second time I've been seen at this facility. It was a horrible experience both times!!!! They truly lack professionalism. Don't waste your money!!! I had been fevering for 4 days with a mild sore throat. On day 4 of fevering I woke up unable to swallow and saw white pockets in my throat. Time to see a doctor. The wait time was only 20 minutes. Not bad. They took a throat culture. I waited for OVER an hour and when the Dr. came into the room and felt my throat she told me I didn't display swelling. What??? I can't swallow! Then she looked at my throat and said I don't see any white spots only cobblestones.... what??? Ummm... look again. She did look again after I asked and agreed I did have "white spots and cobblestones" in my throat. I'm so disappointed. She suggested a fly test , but said tamiflu usually doesn't work and will cost over $100 dollars. She offered zero options. I had to request that my throat culture be sent for additional testing. Truly disappointed. Didn't even give suggestions for symptoms. read more

I visited the Bountiful location Friday evening just before close for an injury to my thigh. After a quick exam I was told it was a Hematoma and to R.I.C.E. My wife spoke with a very good friend whom happens to be a Dr and told her of our experience. She was flabbergasted that they did not take an X-Ray and strongly suggested we go back the next day to get a base line, confirming there was no damage (stress fracture) to bone. We went back and initially the receptionist and the nurse were great, Dr. Sean McNamara came in and from the onset had an attitude. I've never been spoken down to by a doctor like that in my 60 years. He was rude to me, and my wife, very condescending. We were not looking for pills or anything, just to get the X-Ray, but was treated like we were, and berated. He did eventually order the X-Ray (The technician was very professional and nice) She advised us the doctor would review and be back to us. I let her know that no... we would not wait around to be spoken down to again, that he was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever visited, and we would get results form PCP. To his defense, he did attempt to call me later that morning. I would not, will not take his call. I have been advised I need to write a formal complaint letter to IHC. read more

The instacare/kids care is a joke. Better off going somewhere else. Dermatology department you're best off dialing 911 even if it isn't an emergency you might actually get help. Nobody there answers that phone and if they do they put you on hold. read more

There is nothing worse than feeling neglected. I came in at a time when it seemed very slow, could not see any other patents. After waiting 1/2 hour to be taken back for xrays and now going on almost an hour and a half since first getting here and still waiting for the doctor to come give me the results. Extremely frustrated. Also in their web site it said they were open at 8AM, however after coming in found out that wasn't true and they didn't open until 9AM. Very dissatisfied. Next time I think I'll choose a different location. read more
