This is my go to place for fish n chips. Always amazing. Light crispy batter, good size piece of fish, husband likes the fries well done and is pleased. I did onion rings im not a fry gal. Stopped in for a quick dinner at Bounty Fish & Chips and was greeted warmly upon arrival. They welcomed me to sit where I liked so I chose one of the few empty tables and was promptly brought a menu. I decided on a small order of cod and chips for $14.50. The restaurant seemed quite busy with takeout orders but it didn't take long to receive my food. The fish was light and flaky and the chips were crisp yet tender. The piece of fish was small but I wasn't super hungry so it turned out to be a good size. They give you an option to substitute or add coleslaw to your order but I'm not a fan of coleslaw so I stuck with the chips. This place isn't fancy but the food is good, as is the service. Worth a visit - or many visits, if you're local to the area. read more

Ordered 2 large fish and chips. Very disappointed with the portion of fish ( 2-2oz PC's) very few chips at a cost of $23.95. Not worth the price. We won't be going back to this restaurant. I would think that a small portion is 1 2oz piece of fish with about 10 - 12 chips at a cost of $17.95. We will be telling everyone we know about the portion sizes how they have gotten a lot smaller but cost about $8.00 more. read more

I was in the mood for fish & chips and thought I would give this a try based Yelp's high rating. I was not disappointed. We were acknowledged as soon as we walked in the door and told we could pick our own seats. Jen brought menus right away. All three of us chose the Halibut and chips with DS opting to sub onion rings for fries and DH choosing the half coleslaw half fries option. I had to share my fries portion with them as it was huge. Jen was very attentive coming by to fill our water glasses and checking how our meal was. None of us are big on tartar, so the packets of tartar were untouched. The boys were delighted that malt vinegar was available. I was pleased with the freshness of the lemon wedges. At 55, I notice that I qualify for their Wednesday senior discount. Prices not bad, customer service pretty good, quality of food good to marginal. M'lady and I decided to try a new fish & chips place, so we decided to get take-out from Bounty. I ordered a cod fish & chips dish, m'lady ordered a halibut & chips, and we got a small order of halibut for my son. I asked what they have for kids, and they mentioned either the small cod, or another kind of small fish as their only options. When I went to pick the order up, I noticed that they had packets of different sauces and such at the door. I picked up some malt vinegar for m'lady, but didn't think to get some tartar sauce. I'm really not a fan of having to remember to get my own sauce, so I definitely wasn't a huge fan of this part. My cod had a very slimy taste, but it was edible. M'lady's halibut & chips was very tasty. Both my meal and m'lady's came with coleslaw, yet the small halibut was the same size as m'lady's and it also came with chips (fries), yet no coleslaw. We thought it would've been smaller than the size of m'lady's halibut, but that wasn't the case. So all-in-all, I am unlikely to return to this venue considering the number of down-sides vs the up-sides, in both the experience, as well as the quality of my cod. read more

Not great . Quite a few choices of fish but no real explanation of the difference. We ordered several different dishes . Halibut was dry. Scallops came as deep fried balls of tasteless mush and fried clans were rough and chewy. Not sure why pop comes in a can and $2.00 seems steep maybe time for a pop machine. Dinner for 2 adults and three kids was $100.00 seems expensive for mediocre food. Sea food platter was disappointing . I was quite happy with the haddock and chips that I ordered take out. The service was good, I waited less than 10 minutes for my order and the food was also good. The meal with a side order of gravy was just under $10 It was my first time eating their fish & chips. I wasn't even aware that Bounty Fish & Chips existed. The very best fish and chips I have experienced this side of the Atlantic. Bounty, for me, is my first stop whenever I visit Orillia (which is about monthly). Atlantic Cod, Halibut, and Haddock are all top notch; you can't go wrong by choosing any of these three. I've never tried the White Roughy, because I just can't get by the other three. The Clams are just strips, but they are a good choice too; the shrimp, scallops and chicken I've never tried. The fries are just right, for my liking, and if you enjoy gravy with your fries, The gravy is very good too. It's a small casual dining area; the booths, seats and tables are dated and worn. I'd say having a large group done here would be challenging, but small groups are fine. I see no problems in taking kids there (I've taken my small grand kids there at least once). No alcohol is served; no music; no TV, just a solid Fish and Chips joint. The staff at Bounty has without fail, been super each and every time we have visited. My wife and I have visited there since 2011 or 2012. Bounty Fish and Chips is hands-down, my favorite eating establishment in Orillia. I'll be back in June, for certain. read more

I believe that the Halibut fish and chips that I had here was the best I've experienced while working in Canada for the last 4 years. I chose to go with the dinner plate which included a side of coleslaw and a dessert. Let me tell you about that wonderful coleslaw. I have lived in the southern United States all my life and I know a thing or two about coleslaw. This place has awesome coleslaw! Terrific place. I have eaten here for over twenty years and with age, knowledge of how to cook fish and chips has disappeared. Tonight we ordered halibut and chips and looking forward to this treat. Much to our disappointment the chips were white in color, soggy and not cooked. The fish was average but had too much batter covering the fish. We felt like we ordered uncooked spuds and a side order of fried batter. The price has increased immensely and eliminated the coleslaw unless you pay for it. I realize the everything is costly but they should at least have a seniors night where coleslaw is free of charge. We will be looking for another fish and chip joint starting next week. read more

Excellent fish & chip place. I have a hearty appetite but I find the halibut special to be more than filling. The halibut with half chips & half coleslaw is a very filling portion and a great deal. The coleslaw is delicious and the mushy peas are made from scratch and absolutely worth a try. My only minor complaint would be the tartar sauce - they serve the packets of somewhat watery tartar rather than making their own. Would highly recommend. read more
