We went to bourbon street pub around 6 on a Friday. Initially the bar looks like a hole in the wall. The windows are big and open and there's a mirror. There's a small hallway to another bar area that was closed. The real magic is the outside. They don't have a many craft beers. The outside is huge. It's partly a motel. There's another bar, a decent size pool, tons of seating, and a stage. I believe the pool party was earlier. It was also winter. This would be a fun place to see filled! read more

Bourbon Street Pub is a lot of fun. I've always enjoyed stopping by here while in the Keys. In the main part of the bar is the dance area which sometimes you'll find dj's or lounge singers playing / singing your favorite tunes. There are two large bars to sit and relax at. Or maybe you'll meet a new friend? As you walk through the bar you'll enter the back yard. The back yard area has another bar, a pool, hot tub and large stage area. It also houses plenty of seating and is perfect for social distancing. Typically there is a happy hour with BOGOs. The pool and hot tub are clothing optional. Women are welcome to the bar, but they are not permitted in the back bar since it's a men's clothing optional area. This bar is connected to the New Orleans House which is a gay men's resort so that is also why women are not able to get into the back area. The drinks are cheap, usually around $6. They are strong too so even better, right? I've always found the staff here to be friendly and honestly, the patrons are too. Always are able to find a nice person to chat with while you're there. Loved this place! We stumbled upon this place by noticing their sign for Keylime coladas. The Keylime colada was the best we had ever had! The drinks were amazing!! Every mixed drink we had was made very well (also strong). The bartender was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect! The vibe of the place was very welcoming. This is a great place if you're a single gay man feeling a little, dare are say it, trashy? It's a rough group of trade parked out front having cocktails. If you venture towards the back where there's a warning sign which puts you on clear notice that no one in the back is wearing clothes. Beware. We ventured into the back and sure enough the bartender was stark naked. As were numerous patrons in the pools and spas. I'm certainly not a prude but this is where I draw the line. I'm extremely disappointed to share that my friends and I had a horrible experience at Bourbon Street Pub. We visited as a group of LGBTQ+ individuals, including three women and several gay men. Unfortunately, the evening took a turn for the worse when we were asked to leave. The reason given was shocking and disturbing: apparently, some of the gay male patrons, who were paying top dollar, had complained about our presence. The bar staff informed us that the reason for our removal was solely because we were women. I've never experienced such blatant hatred and discrimination towards women, and it's truly disheartening. As we were leaving the rude bouncer also made comments about us being ugly and poor (very false). As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I expect more inclusivity and respect from establishments that claim to be welcoming and supportive. Unless Bourbon Street Club takes steps to address and rectify this issue, I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Actually I wouldn't even give this place another chance - it was by far the worst experience ever. read more

Stopped by during a Tropical Heat. Didn't realize that they hosted one of the largest parties of the weekend out back. The front is like a typical gay dive bar with decent drinks and a gogo boy. Outback, they have a pool, hot tub, cabanas and another bar. The bartender out back wasn't very nice at first but he warmed up throughout the night. I would go back for an event. read more

It's a gay bar, one with swim suit clad go go boys (mostly overly tattooed and more the cute but picked out the street gutter than professional dancer types) prancing around on top of the bar. When Key West has event weeks or event weekends, it can really get hopping, attracts a good fun loving crowd, but on ordinary off season nights, sort of a divey bar with an overabundance of alcoholics and drunks. It's one of those places that sort of all depends upon the time in which you hit it, hence it can easily range from a One Star "No way, get me out of here" type of joint to a Four Star "Hey! I like it" place. However, as this type of bar goes and though it may be one of the better of the very few remaining and very rapidly dwindling gay venues left in the now gentrified Key West, I've can only go Two Stars since I've certainly seen a lot better. read more

We wanted to come in and get a drink or two and they needed to use the bathroom. She proceeded to tell them "where do you think you're going".. "you can't use the restroom unless you spend $100". Let me start this off by saying that I completely understand the difficulties of operating during our current situation. However, customer service is severely lacking here. I walked in to this bar (one I've visited many times previously) and essentially asked what one has to do to get a beverage and consume it on the premises. I was told by the main bar bartender that if I purchased a slice of pizza from the business next door, I was more than welcome to drink at Bourbon Street. So, I did just that... when I returned with my delicious slice of pizza the same bartender offered me the option of either being served indoors, or on the patio. I indicated that I would prefer to eat/drink on the patio as I've always been wearing face coverings indoors as directed by local health officials. The bartender suggested that I take a seat on the patio (which was almost vacant apart from a table or two being occupied) and that I would be served there. I sat down, caught glances from the bartenders on the patio bar, however even 20mins into slowly nibbling on my slice of pizza no one payed me any attention. I finished my slice of pizza and left. When I was asked by the main indoor bar bartender "how my night was" I relayed the chain of events to him, he seemed appalled and just said that he "was sorry" I think the main takeaway here is that if you're not prepared to operate your business within the realm of our "new normal" and take care of your customers, with established processes... you really should shut down until you can operate as you wish.
