I'm not going to lie: Marie is a taskmaster. We had meeting after meeting after meeting in the months leading up to my wedding. The result: Incredibly detailed spreadsheets that meant that I didn't have to think about a damn thing that entire weekend. Marie and her team made sure that everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there -- and that includes family, members of the bridal party and vendors. She even returned our rented items the following Monday, while we were relaxing on our honeymoon. We received so many compliments about how smoothly our ceremony and reception went; it wouldn't have worked without FCCI. Her rates are incredibly reasonable, especially when you consider the level of service that you receive. In addition to her talented planning skills, she is a meticulous seamstress, who basically reconstructed my dress. I personally find pictures annoying to take and wasn't as excited about it. My wife and I had attended another wedding in Indianapolis where Rich was the photographer and she loved the work he did and how he did it. I was agnostic and let her choose. The experience started with the engagement pictures. Rich is based in Indianapolis but is expanding into Chicago based on demand. Rich came to Chicago and we just explored the city together with him taking pictures all the while. He would take pictures in what I thought were very random places, but after seeing the results I realized he had an amazing eye for picture possibilities and lighting. Rich also took a lot of candid shots that captured our personalities and interaction. I'm not a huge fan of taking pictures, but Rich made us feel comfortable and made me excited to see the end results. For the wedding Rich was just as good. He blended into the background and used the settings that nature and the venues provided. The pictures didn't feel staged, but instead felt natural and fun. They captured the moments and the true spirit of the day without Rich ever trying to control the situation or be invasive. As a groom, I would definitely rec commend Rich to other guys as being a pleasure to work with. When we were planning our July 2010 wedding we knew we wanted to put a chunk of our budget into…read morephotography. We met with several different photographers and finally narrowed it down to Rich. He recognized our vision and met all of our requirements: engagement session, all-day photography, all images provided on disc, and photo book. We also received a discounted rate because we had our wedding on a Friday night. Our engagement photos were stunning. We met him for an afternoon at the Canal and he made it look like we had been whisked away to somewhere in Europe. He also gave us about 8-8x10 prints from the session and a few were featured on his website. On our big day, Rich helped capture every moment. He and his assistant photographed the entire ceremony, as well as all the preparations. Some of the pictures from the salon of my bridesmaids and me are my favorites. He also helped orchestrate a beautiful "first glance' moment between my husband and me. After the ceremony, our wedding party took a bus around the city and Rich had us photographed in some beautiful spaces. My only regret is we didn't get to the Circle, but maybe for our vow renewal! Had it not been for Trice we are positive that we would not have been successful sticking to our time line. She is simply amazing! It seemed like there were 4 of her and she was everywhere at once. Not one time did the music stop (unless there was an announcement) but Trice was always somewhere lending a helping hand. Every single person at our wedding made it a point to tell us how much they loved her and many asked for contact info for future events. I've not had Anne for my wedding photography but I wanted to comment on something she did for a…read moredear friend of mine. One of my friends who was a newly wed with a small baby was diagnosed with cancer. I mentioned this friend to Anne casually one day and she out of the blue offered to take some photos of the family free of charge. I passed along the info to my friend and Anne arranged a reasonable number of photos of my friend and her family before the chemo started. My friends and their family received wonderful photos that Anne put care and attention to. She arranged to meet the family at the hospital and improvised wonderful portraits. She did this out of her own personal integrity as she had no financial gain to do so. I'm deeply impressed not only with her care and attention to detail but that she did this with no financial incentive. If she'll work that hard for someone as an act of love, I can only imagine how most of her paying clients are tended to. I've nothing but gratitude and good things to say. Thank you Anne.

The mini golf course could use some repair - full sections were ripped up on our last visit, making…read moresome holes nearly unusable, and some aggressive flying insects along the path that made it a whole lot less fun. The indoor area has certainly gotten some upgrades - great for the all-year-round crew, for sure. The most confusing thing about the arcade is that it uses a credit system that varies largely from game to game on what it's going to cost you and what it's likely to pay out. I'm sure this is the whole point of them taking your money -- the house always wins -- but I'd prefer to know how much one credit really cost me and how much a game really is. Not that the kids care when they've got their card though. Hoping next summer some repairs are finished and we'll have a better time.

Given that half of the go-kart attractions were now unavailable, I approached the sales desk and spoke to a young manager named Keira. I asked if we could receive a rain check to come back on a better day. She pointed to a notice on the wall and informed me, "It's our policy. The fine print states that we do not offer rain checks or refunds due to weather." I expressed my disappointment, as I feel it's unrealistic and unscrupulous to expect most customers to read fine print on the wall before purchasing tickets. In my opinion, businesses like this should consider more customer-friendly policies, especially when a significant portion of their attractions are uncovered and entirely dependent on the weather. While others may have their own opinions, I personally won't support a business that lacks flexible policies for paying customers when their offerings are so easily affected by conditions beyond anyone's control.
