I bought a Giant mountain bike for £500 in June of 2018. Within a month the forks were squeeking and I had to pay to get them fixed. I've now had the bike a year and I've had 3 new chains, new back cog, new crank shaft, 2 full services and the chain is constantly rubbing against the derailer so people can here me from a mile away. I've spent at least £250 in 1 year. Every time I take the bike back they say I ride the bike too hard. I've only ever ride to work and back on the road, the same as with all the bikes i've had and never had these problems. Just today I took the bike in because the chain is rubbing so much and making so much noise. I was told it needs lubricating. When I tried to talk with the guy about it he was walking away from me as I talked to him. I left the shop and the chain was rubbing just the same, no change at all. I want people to know that this is a genuine review. I never write online reviews but I feel that I've been let down by these guys and not treated correctly. All I want is a bike I can use to get to and from work that works. In this case CYCLE WORKS definitely DIDN'T WORK!! Luke Jones - Dowling read more

They don't have the capacity to handle phone calls apparently even though they have their phone number on their website. I received a frosty reception when I did call. I dropped my bike off for a service I got a text message when to collect it. I thought that was efficient. I recommend however they advertise better their new closing time. A banner at the top of the website page and include it in the text message they send you. It's a temporary change so they should make the effort emphasise this change. I found it later on their website after scrolling down towards the bottom. I arrived to collect my bike after it had closed the young chap was kind enough to open the door to tell me I couldn't have the bike even though I had to walk the 4 miles home. I should have called ahead to check but was too scared after the last call to them. Most people use their phones to access websites if Cycleworks are intent on people using the website instead of calling they could think about key info in the right place. read more

Rear disc brake was failing. Event next day. Telephoned Cycleworks ahead to see if they could fix it on a Saturday afternoon. It was possible so dropped bike off and returned later. The brake had to be replaced which was OK by me and the work was done there and then. Was consulted if I wanted the parts replaced and was advised as to what to go for. Everything went smoothly and professionally. Plus I was able to ride the event on the Sunday. Great service friendly knowledgeable staff. Thanks read more
