I worked on my mother's estate with Bousquet Holstein's attorney Emilee and her paralegal Peg. They were able to open the estate and have me named executor. However, from that point onward, there were problems with responsiveness to questions and the accuracy of the legal guidance provided. Emilee was very slow to respond to emails and was almost unreachable by phone without an appointment. She seldom provided timely answers to questions, and as a result, most of my interactions were with Peg. Unfortunately, Peg's advice was unreliable. Repeatedly, I found myself, as the client, in the position of having to research legal issues on my own and correct the erroneous advice of Peg, whom I was paying $275 per hour to work on the estate. To say this state of affairs was disappointing would be a dramatic understatement. Peg once prepared for my signature a letter to a financial institution that would have resulted in the distribution of my mother's assets in a manner wildly inconsistent with what we were trying to achieve, if I had not caught and corrected her error myself. Another time, she completed a tax form so inaccurately that many lines were incorrect by double digit percentages. Had I not recognized and corrected those errors as well, I can only imagine what the consequences may have been. Finally, I asked to work with a paralegal other than Peg, and an attorney other than Emilee, who is apparently leaving the firm. In response, I was told by David, a managing partner at Bousquet Holstein, that the firm was terminating its representation entirely. No explanation was given. All phone calls went unreturned. I am now in the position of having to work on my mother's estate with another firm, whose employees will need to be brought up to date at the cost of great time and expense. I have worked with several law firms over the years, and I can say without reservation that Bousquet Holstein is the worst of them. It is hard to imagine a more unpleasant, and less productive experience. The contempt with which I have been treated, as not only a client of the firm, but a son who recently lost his mother, is truly shocking. read more

Let's just say, the two associates I dealt with at this firm were very nice and friendly. I felt rushed in my first encounter due to time which led me overlook a few issues I wanted to explain. I felt the information that I was given, I already knew, which would of saved me money at $445/hr. If they didnt have time to investigate, I would of happliy did some looking up myself due to how important this issue was if i knew what section of law to start. Mostly it was how the person reading things interpret information. I felt in the end that my issue wasn't important enough, and was no further ahead when I called. We used BH for estate planning- Emily was great. She talked us through everything, helping us along the way to navigate a process we had never done before. She was friendly, responsive with her emails and even met us outside and masked when we had to sign paperwork.
