My only qualm while dining in is that ventilation is not great. It gets quite Smokey inside so my eyes started to itch and water. The food is worth it!

Upon entering the restaurant, I'm instantly reminded of the late nights waiting at a halal cart in nyc after a night out. This restaurant itself is not the cleanest and rather chaotic on weekend nights. Theres usually a long line to order, but it moves rather quickly and efficiently. The staff members aren't the friendliest, but they get the job done LOL. You'll find a bunch of hungry and probably drunk people sitting at the cafeteria styled seats at night. The food is the main selling point here though. I've gotten the mixed platter and shawarma platter; both with generous servings of protein all doused in a flavorful sauce. Ordered the poutine recently and was also impressed how much they loaded the protein. It was a little on the saltier side and wished they had more cheese curds, but still pretty enjoyable. The fries were also more like small potato wedges. I've recommended this place countless times for almost any point of the day, but they especially hit the spot after a long night.

All of them had positive votes so had to give it a try. Although I became accustomed to ignoring this very block of Curé Labelle which usually consists of a 3-4 small restaurants one next to the other for a sole superstitious reason of it being jinxed. Jinxed in a sense that many small food businesses before them have come, tried, failed and left this spot. I certainly hope it won't be the case for this humble falafel joint. Tooth fairy? Hope you're reading this. In my opinion, this Lebanese falafel joint has one of the tastiest falafel sandwiches. I'm not sure what's that ingredient in their falafel which attracts me, may be coriander? Don't know, have to ask next time I'm there but whatever it is, it gives it a special unique twist that I find sets them apart from the competition. By the way, their concise menu's main common component in their other few offering is... you guessed it, falafel. They also have a salad or two I think but specialty is... yes that one. Glad that I found this joint. Clean, small, affordable and very tasty falafel sandwiches which I crave almost weekly on no meat days. Please go ahead and give them a try to find out for yourself. Who knows, you too might become a regular there like I have.

I've been seeing a lot of recommendations for Damas in Montreal, so we made a point to book a…read morereservation. The restaurant was very well decorated and had a certain character to it. It was fairly quiet, the service was prompt and responsive, although our server missed our order for the hummus and bread platter, so missed out on that. The decor and ambiance matched the Syrian cuisine. The overall prices were about $$ to $$$, depending on the entree. Here's what we ordered: Hibiscus Sipper (8/10) - a refreshing cocktail on gin and hibiscus. It was a bit on the tart side but a good drink that I enjoyed. Shish Borek (9/10) - lamb dumplings in a sheep milk yogurt. Expertly made and so delicious. One of the many highlights of our meal. Rack of Lamb (10/10) - an amazing rack of lamb, cooked with flavorful spices with a nice crispy light char that made for a fantastic first bite! The entree came with an assortment of vegetables Batata Harra (10/10) - spicy potatoes with a bit of lemon and coriander. It came out hot and fresh and was just the right amount of crispy on the outside and light and fluffy potato inside. Kunafa (8/10) - a dessert made of sheep milk cheese and pistachios. It was served warm, very rich and sweet. Overall, we were happy we visited and had an amazing meal at Damas!

We started out with the Dumplings facon shish barak - 10/10. This starter was outstanding. Our main dish was the rack of lamb - 10/10. This dish was phenomenal. The flavor of the lamb paired with the eggplant and tahini sauce was amazing. For dessert we had the Kunafa - 8/10. Great dessert, but a bit too sweet for me. Our waiter was good, however he did forget to bring us another appetizer we ordered. By the time we realized our appetizer wasn't coming we told him about it, and he said there was a miscommunication on the order. So, at that point we just told him not to bring it. Overall, I would definitely try this place out. Their food is really great!
