Love this men's shop across from the ladies' boutique. Especially during Les Soldes when prices are discounted (mostly in the range of -30%) and thus a bit more reasonable. Staff people here are very helpful. read more

I have found the best shoe store in Paris. I repeat, I have found the best shoe store in Paris!…read moreIt's almost too good to be true, but it's not, since I have the boots on my feet to prove it! Ok, imagine a shop that sells a tight-selection of super stylish, comfortable shoes, from boots and strappy heels to slip on flats and chunky pumps at affordable prices. Already, I've got you hooked right? Now add to that the fact that all of the shoes are made in Paris in an atelier in the 11th. Not only is that impressive, but so outrageously rare. Aside from super exclusive artisans creating custom shoes that cost a month's rent, it's impossible to find locally-made shoes at real-people prices. Now, as if that weren't enough, get ready for the icing on the cake. ALL of the models can be customized for no extra fee at all. So, if you love that pair of peep-toe pumps but want them in emerald green in stead of pink, Taher Mardini can make that happen for you. I took advantage of the sales and bought myself the perfect pair of black boots at 30% off the ticket price. They are amazingly beautiful and super comfortable and cost 1/4 of the price of a pair of designer boots made who knows where in the world. I'm totally eying a pair of ankle books that I plan on ordering in one of the 50 or so different colors that you could choose from. Never owned a pair of red boots and I think that I totally need that experience in my life. Oh, I forgot to mention that they'll also recreate a pair of your favorite beat up shoes for you too! How insane is that?! Thanks to Taher Mardini we can now make all of our shoe fantasies come true!

While malls die all over America, retail still thrives in Paris. Exhibit A: Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I've been to this department store a number of times over the years, and I both enjoy it and fear how completely it can suck up precious vacation hours. It's a fantastic place to shop, with a ton of well curated inventory spread out across multiple floors in multiple buildings. The main building features that beautiful domed ceiling, which manages to catch me by surprise every time I walk in. I haven't had the opportunity to shop for my own clothes here in a long time, but I've gotten some really great stuff on the children's floor, and discovered the souvenir section on my last visit, where I picked up some cool Paris Metro toy trains and magnets. We did somehow get stuck at Galeries Lafayette for over two hours and ended up skipping Notre-Dame, which might have been a better place to spend our last afternoon in Paris. But it was sale season, and my kids look super cute in their heavily discounted Petit Bateau. Galeries Lafayette is busy and sometimes overwhelming, but it's a wonderful department store. I wish we had something like it back home. I'd much rather shop there than fall for targeted ads on Instagram.

All the Reps knowledgeable and the service is grade A. It's best to remember your shoe stylist to prevent from waiting in line. I always go to Lisa and after being gone for a year (with no visits) upon my arrival on 10/30/17, she remembered me and even the shoes I purchased on 11/23/16 last year. Also remember to keep your Sales Rep cell number handy to request shoe sizes and designs before arrival using WhatsApp. This way your stylist can have the shoes ready on your visit if it's not located at the store they can order it. It will also prevent you from waiting in line outside the door in cold winter weather OR hot weather. ***Don't forget to bring your passport to get your VAT tax refund, I saved $444 on one pair. Ummm, never. That's what I thought. And that's what makes this particular L'Eclaireur address one of the most unique and pleasant boutiques to visit in Paris, let alone the rest of the world. I rarely go to this shop because everything there is just too gorgeous and too expensive, but yesterday I was in the neighborhood and stopped by because I've been fantasizing recently over these adorable charms by an LA-based artist named Catherine Michaels that I knew l'Eclaireur carried. Of course the charm that I wanted was one of the pricier of the series, but I've been a very good girl lately and felt like I deserved it. The saleswomen helping were absolutely adorable despite their chic, sophisticated looks. They were so helpful, looking through catalogs to see what was in stock, getting out different strings for me to try my charms on with, marveling with me at how intricate and unique the designs were. It was such a pleasant pause from reality that the purchase happened almost in a blur.
