This one's nice…read more Hello. I am a foodie. And pretty critical foodie at that. So, I walk in sceptical. But leave pleasantly suprised. For me, Broadway Market is ridiculously OTT and too trendy for it's own good. It'd be so easy to go minimalist. Bags of organic oats at £8 a pop, Aduki beans for little Casper or Konrad. HHmm, you get my thinking? But instead, it's a straight up and honest venture. Quite a small premises so their shelves are absolutely stacked. Good range of fruit, nice veg in and all the other trimmings. Pastes, spread, conserves. And little touches, which make you want to come back. They do refils of cleaning product to help everyone stay eco. Things like that. And the guys hanging out were really nice, so yeah, all in all, I really liked what they'd done here. Thanks!

The owner is super friendly, the lemons, the avocados, the plums, everything is such high quality (and inexpensive) that it's gonna be hard for me to shop anywhere else from now on (especially 'cause it's just by my house). I loved the banana soy yogurt by Sojade (a french brand I didn't know 'till then) and I can assure that, despite of the size of the store (it's a small shop though the owner is planning to move to a bigger place, he said), they have pretty much everything, well organized and even if it weren't, the owner will do everything to help you. They can range from the moderately-priced to the exorbitant, and not all are worth what you pay. This little independent grocery store, however, not only has everything you need with quality you can trust, but the prices are actually worth what you get. They have a little bit of everything, with carefully-picked selections to satisfy even the staunchest vegetarian, vegan, and even Paleo-lover out there. From fine meats and cheeses, to super healthy drinks and take-away meals, and even a little something to satisfy that sweet tooth, (and yes, that's healthy for you, too). My favorites are the really hard-to-find items like the grain-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free granola and cereal options that are a bit pricey, but definitely worth what you pay for them, as a little bit will keep you going for hours, and tastes delicious. They have plenty of other yummy snacks like vegan coconut jerky and ready-made meals for on-the-go, including healthy juices and smoothies. They also carry unique and interesting beverages like maple and birch tree waters that are high in magnese, zinc, vitamin C, and other minerals. They even have black alkaline waters with activated charcoal that acts as a magnet for toxins in your body. Everything else from the bread to the booze also looks good, and while you may break the bank a little on a routine shopping trip, it will force you to spend your money well, invest in your health, and make it last. But given repeated exposure (I get massages downstairs at My Treatment Rooms) -- it was just too hot to handle. I admit it, I like this place. A lot. It's just so damn appealing. And expensive. And...LOOK at this selection of tea. All the tea! And organic things. Many organic things. Homemade things! The soups in particular have very limited ingredients (read -- no crap) and are really great. Try the butternut squash/almond and split pea/ham. I'll be honest -- I can only take the bright lights of Tesco/Food Co-OP/Sainsburys for about 30 seconds before I want to expire along with all the fruit and veg that are hanging on to their last dying breath before some sucker takes them home. I might as well be on "Supermarket Sweep" -- sometimes I'm in and out so fast I barely know what I got. I just loathe the experience so much I want to be just as short as possible. This is the only grocery shop in London that I actually ENJOY. It's a nice, manageable size. The aisles are wide enough for 2 people to be in them at once. I enjoy looking at different products. The Grocery may be expensive, but as Steve B says -- "it sells nice things." And sometimes you've just had enough shrink wrap/pre-fab food from all those other crap supermarkets and you want some nice things and its worth the investment. Nice wholesome, diverse food. It's novel and it's nice. There, I said it! I tried to resist but sometimes (usually?) the hipsters are spot on when it comes to topics such as these. The Grocery is a winner. *takes cards. *there's a little takeaway coffee place right near the registers. *cash machines outside. Parent Fact: *this is one of the only places I've found that carries Nanny Care Goat's Milk Infant formula. Totally random, but I was quite happy to find this out! The store is pretty large, speciating in organic, quality products, with the prices to match. They did also have a nice selection of ready to eat food, however, I did find the selection for people with allergies, such as myself to have limited choice. The store had a nice feel to it, they did have some tables outside for those wishing to grab and go. I would say having more staff on the shop floor to help find items and explain some of their products, as well as having some more seating/tables inside would be handy, although I admit it isn't exactly a cafe/restauraunt in regards to the latter. The store was well stocked, which is admittedly quite impressive, given the current climate where the country is facing mass food shortages. 4* - A fairly pleasant store, much better than Sainsbury's nearby but still falls short in terms of Marks and Spencer.

Because all the food here is stunningly beautiful and everything sold is from the earth. I don't recall anything animal, or anything processed. No breads. No cheese. Certainly no bacon pajamas. Just basket after basket of stunning fruits, veggies, roots, berries and legumes. Here we are in November, when most green grocers only have root veggies and cabbage, yet this place boasts vibrant peppers, heirloom tomatos, exotic fruits, even Asian citrus. I love to cook and this is now my "go to" place for hard-to-find greens. In fact, Natalie Portman will be sorry she ever went for a different fellow and shacked up in the States. A nice benefit is that while you're shopping, they're playing slamming music sometimes. One time I liked the tune so much I dared ask for the name of the CD. The checkout clerk unsmilingly wrote it down for me, told me where to buy it (further down the street on Brick Lane); he definitely hooked me up! (another time I ended up buying a car here too, but that's a story for another time and place!)

For those who know what these are: Taj stocks Maggi hot & sour masala chilli sauce, Roohafza & fresh curry leaves (almost impossible to find anywhere in central London) Its a sprawling store with huge variety & great prices. They have fresh fruits & vegetables too. Plenty of namkin, spice pastes, pickles, variety of dhal & rice. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

They have no idea of customer service you are banned from taking your own bags ( I assume they think we're all shop lifters, nice! ) so you have no choice but to pay the 5p charge for bags...the whole point of bringing in the charge was to encourage people to take their own bags. I've shopped at TFC over a number of years but today will be the last time for me it's just not a nice place to shop sadly.
