I've been coming to Bowes Dermatology for about 1.5 years.. it's important to mention they specialize in Cosmetic Dermatology, they have state of the art technology when it comes to lasers & cosmetic procedures.. My go-to is Ana Trisan, she is very profesional and has great recommendations. They are so good, appointment availability might take 3-5 weeks, so make sure to call in advance! Tips: Arrive early, specially if your treatment requires numbing. Velet parking is available or there is a parking garage- which is a bit of a walk, but not a big deal if you wear comfortable shoes. read more

I've gone to Bowes Dermatology twice now, so I feel I'm apt to have an opinion. So far so good. My biggest complaint would probably be the location of this office. It's located at Mercy Hospital in the Professional Offices building. Parking is a bit of a walk and $3.00 (cash only). You could park closer and do valet for $5.00, but don't ask me for details as I haven't done this just yet. There seem to be a variety of doctors there. That and the same can be said for the hours. They work one Saturday a month and that's been super convenient for me. Also, they e-mail and text you to remind you of your appointment. Anyway, I've been seeing Dr. Trisan for a couple of months now for some peeling, red skin and dandruff issues. My peeling, red skin is fortunately no more, but we are still working on the dandruff. I guess it's stress related. Shrug. I find her to be a lovely person, if a bit direct, and that's not something I say often. I usually am the queen of directness. Visits are to the point. No hogwash. I don't think at either visit I spent more than half an hour there. Staff is entirely bilingual, but it seems they gear more towards Spanish. Modern practice with a people-oriented feel. The first time I visited this facility, I had a bad burn on my finger from a hot soup. I saw Kimberly Cray, who is a certified physician assistant at Bowes and Riverchase Dermatology. She was amazing! She took care of my burn to the point that I can't even tell I ever had it. It was excellent work. She is also very caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. She has become my skin expert. Since then I visit regularly and she has helped me with many skin problems. read more

The nurse that came in to get my information was also very kind. The wait, however, is ridiculous! I was in the waiting room for almost 2 hours! I have been meaning to do this review for awhile now. I have to say that the team at Bowes is wonderful. Kimberly the PA and Gaby the MA are so sweet and make the visit so pleasant. The office staff in the front are also very nice as well. They are very organized and quite efficient. I never have to wait too long to be seen and they go above and beyond to make sure that my visit is more than satisfactory. What makes it so special is the kindness they demonstrate and their genuine interest in your overall well being. You can tell they really love what they do and it's infectious! The clinic is located in Mercy Hospital so it is a bit of a drive over for me but it's worth it. I am still waiting to see the results from the treatment I am receiving for a specific dermatological condition (which is expected) but overall I wanted to do this review as a shoutout to the amazing staff at Bowes. I also wanted to commend their check in process which is done via telephone prior to your appt. Due to covid, you now have the option to check in on a website called Phreesia and pay the fees due and specify your insurance and other personal information. It makes the check in process more seamless and saves time once you arrive at the office. They also send appointment reminders via email and if there is an earlier appt. available they will text you with the option to change it. They also do cosmetic procedures which I can't attest to as I strictly go there for medical reasons but from what it looks like they do a pretty good business on all fronts (medical and cosmetic). They are also practicing social distancing diligently. They wear masks and have distance restrictions on the waiting room as evident in my photos. My first appointment was actually via Zoom with Joey and Kimberly (which was a first for me), but Telehealth is big now due to covid. Overall I am happy with the services and treatment I have received. I definitely recommend their services for anyone who needs. read more

The PA Ana completely mutilated my skin. She didn't really care and just kept asking me to come back. They kept charging me co-pays even though the only reason I had to go back was because of the damage they caused. Then they sent my co-pays to collections without notification. These are truly horrible people. Then I met with Dr. Gonzalez, she was extremely unprofessional and did not provide a solution for the problem that was their fault. Then Dr. Gonzalez lied to me about why they caused irreversible damage to my skin. This is an absolute horrible medical practice. read more

The original owner of the dermatology office was wonderful. Once they sold to Riverchains it's been mayhem. I have been a patient there since Laura Boz owned it now every time I go the systems, the rules and regulations change I have to fill out new documentations because they're constantly changing systems and now just to see the dermatologist for any reason they still charge you a consultation fee. I have been to Bowes several times- each with a different practitioner- all great experiences. TheRe never seems to be a wait of more than 10min and due to the many practitioners they have, theres a lot of availability to see someone when needed. First visit, I met with Dr. Annie Gonzalez with acne concerns. She looked at me and within 5min diagnosed me with PCOs. This was later confirmed by my gyno and several blood tests. Fantastic. A few months later I went to change my prescription and saw their Dr Kray their PA. Another fantastic visit. Gave me exactly what I needed and we talked about how shes all over instagram with skincare tips. Most recently due to availability I saw Yusnaida- another great practitioner. She gave me a thorough body check, prescribed me some skincare and overall was very good. I would give this office a 5/5 but they were knocked 1 star due to disorganization with the cosmetic side of their practice. Doctor recommended a laser for acne scars and the cosmetic nurse was impossible to get ahold of for not only pricing but booking appointments as well. But this isnt the case for the other practitioners. read more

Ana Trisan will botch your cosmetic injections. My Botox done by her has left me with my eyebrows moving in a way that does not match. Her and her assistant do not present themselves with a courteous, professional demeanor, instead it's a passive aggressive fake mean girls from high school vibe. This office presented themselves as one thing but when i checked further, I discovered they're actually a slick, low rated outfit from Fort Myers. Worst experience in my life on a doctors office, Went with my daughter and the Dr Tristan spend less than 10 min with both of us, And on those 10 min she was everything but nice, I'm 52 years old and I ask recommendation on creams for my skin or treatments and her response was " I can see that you don't take care of your skin so I'm not going to recommend anything" then she left, Why was I there if I didn't care about my skin??? Then I told the nurse that I wanted to ask her about a pimple that I had on my face for a very long time and waited for her to comeback but she never did, It was the first time on a dermatologist for my 14 year old daughter, she had questions and she never gave her the opportunity to ask. In terms of acne, this place is the real deal. So kind, so welcoming and on top of your appointment. The wait time is short and the staff is extremely helpful! I did a chemical peel before my wedding and they treated me so kindly. They explained the entire procedure, prepared me for the minimal pain and then gave me everything I needed to recover. This doctora office came highly recommended! I went for the first time for a small acne issue I was battling, the Doctor knew exactly what I had and recommended some treatment right away, she was very specific and detailed also very friendly! The medicine was shipped to me by a third party pharmacy and its was very well priced too, the other medicine I needed was sent over to my Local pharmacy. I have yet to start the treatment. The office environment was very friendly and the wait was not long at all. I will travel ANYWHERE to see Dr. Gonzalez so when I heard she made the moves over to Bowes, I gladly made my appointment for my usual toxin touch up. The service is top-notch as most of their providers are well-known for being the best in Miami. From the moment I came in, I was greeted by the front desk and promptly seen. The staff certainly goes over and beyond to ensure their patients are satisfied. Not only does Dr. Gonzalez strive for a great satisfaction level, she goes the extra mile to really bond with her patients. The medical assistants are very efficient and friendly so I felt at ease as I had a bunch of needles popping into my face. I started using the products she recommended and have seen a significant increase of brightness in my complexion. Living in South Florida, it can be quite challenging to avoid sun exposure so annual skin checks are highly recommended as a precautionary measure to avoid harmful and irregular changes our skin goes through. I loved the service I received here and thanks to their recommended skincare regimen, I can rest assured knowing I'm doing my part in this whole "aging gracefully" thing I'm trying to embrace. read more

I will not be coming back to this place. It is a hole in the wall that is very difficult to find - Google Maps will not take you to the actual location. To make matters worse, I called and told them ai would be running late - they said "Oh don't worry that's fine!" Then when I arrived, the doctor was mid-surgery (less than one hour after my appointment time, how?) and would not be able to see me until 2 hours after my appointment. They had the nerve to ask if I would stay and wait. Ridiculous. This place absolutely does not value your time, as many other reviews also indicate. The desk service is awful and completely useless. I had been wanting a laser treatment for years for acne scarring but was always put off by the cost and downtime it required. This year, I decided to do it and after going through a couple of consultations, I decided on Bowes dermatology. I ended up choosing this practice because they did not try to pressure me into unneeded excess treatments and products like other places did at my consultation. The lady was very thorough, checking my skin and asking me lots of questions. I really wanted fraxel, so she explained the treatment and told me I'd be a great candidate. I booked my appointment with Dr. Bowes herself (to get with Dr Bowes it's usually a couple weeks out) because if I was paying all this money I wanted the best I could get. Fast forward to my appointment. The only hiccup in this whole thing was that my appointment was supposed to be on a Thursday, but the Dr. had an emergency so they called me Wednesday to reschedule. This was a little frustrating since I had prepared with ample time off, but we are all humans and things happen and I understand. I was seen the following Tuesday. I was taken in, had baseline photos taken, sat down to put on numbing cream, and sit for an hour. (Pro tip: bring a book or a fully charged phone). The numbing cream is so weird! I couldn't feel my face at all. After that was the fraxel. It's uncomfortable, yes, but Dr. Bowes and her assistant did absolutely everything they could to make me calm, comfortable, and assured. BEWARE OF BOWES DERMATOLOGY!!!! I was debating whether to leave this review for a while but I decided people need to know. I wouldn't want anyone going through this same experiences. I was seen by Dr. Zuzy Gascon for a little hormonal acne prior to my period (like 2 or 3 pimples). I was prescribed Doxycycline. I was not warned that "it makes you worse before you get better". I broke out like I never had before. EVERYWHERE. I didn't want to leave the house for weeks. At my next appointment, I couldn't help but cry in the examination room about what was happening to me. She told me it was nothing to cry over, things could be worse because "it's not like I just found out that someone in my family has cancer" and that my acne didn't look like "the pictures when you google acne", gave me some topical samples (with unclear instructions on how to use them..I received NOTHING with written instructions). She even answered a personal phone call in the examination room! Then she told me to keep using the medication and the new topical and it would be better in a week. OH BOY, it wasn't. It just proceeded to get worse and worse. Now, I have awful hyperpigmentation and scarring from 15+ cortisone shots and tons of extractions. It will take hundreds of dollars in procedures to remove. I already paid $300 for a chemical peel and although it helped, I still have hyperpigmentation and closed comedones. Also, I switched dermatologists. If all this wasn't reason enough, Bowes Dermatology NEVER answer their phones and rarely return calls. I called once about whether I should continue a medication. I never received an answer. Kept using the medication and burned my face. Thank God I finally got a second opinion with a different derm. My new doctor told me all these medications did nothing but burn my super sensitive skin and make me photosensitive...which no doubt, caused more acne and pigmentation. Well I had to leave this review so people wouldn't get robbed with mini cool sculpting of the chin. I did that procedure about a year ago and it cost me $1500 for my chin. Nothing happened and then him was the same as before. NO CHANGE WHATSOEVER!!!!! Don't do it, it doesn't work at all.. I have Marielena Ferrer do it and believe me NO RESULTS AT ALL!!!!! Booked appointment two weeks in advance and asked staff to call if there was any problem with insurance. No call. Show up to appointment and they tell me they don't take my insurance although provider has verified THREE TIMES that practice is on the provider list. So disappointed in this experience. Very frustrating experience!!! I made the appointment 2 weeks before for a terrible allergic reaction I was having and gave them all my contact information and insurance information. 10 minutes before the appointment, as I was entering the garage, the called me saying they called my insurance and it was inactive so I gave them my correct information once again which they acknowledged they had incorrect. They called me again 5 minutes later, also 5 minutes before my appointment, to say they didn't accept my insurance. Very frustrating how they don't do their jobs correctly and verified my insurance right before my appointment when they had 2 weeks to do it and waste people's time like this. Terrible!!!! read more
