I chose to go to Avalon Medical Spa for laser hair removal based on the amazing reviews on Yelp. My first few visits were great, and Julia was super sweet. However, she has seemingly vanished and I cannot reach anyone to schedule an appointment despite multiple phone calls, voicemails, and texts. I paid $1200 for 6 treatments of my underarms and bikini area, and started to have trouble scheduling appointments after my second visit. Now I have been unable to reach her for several months. It's unclear whether the business is still operating, as I never saw anyone other than Julia in the office, but I am fairly sure I will never be getting the remaining 2 treatments that I paid for. read more

We came to Miami for a little mini vacation. While laying out by the pool, I opened ones one of my wife's gossip magazines and noticed how much younger some of "veteran" actors look. Imagine my shop when my never aging wife tells me that not only do THEY use Botox but she has been doing it for years and also get juvederm for lip injections. After fighting the shock and making a mental note to start checking the bank account on a regular basis, I was more curious then ever. Next thing you know, we're at a salon in downtown and were speaking to a doctor. I'm the type of husband that once the wife says to do it, I do it. So I signed some forms and got a couple needle pricks. The doc that did assured me that I would still look natural and not resemble the housewives of anything. So, couple days pass and I don't see any changes. Patience is not my virtue and I'm sure many can relate to the frustration of not having what you paid for, but to keep the Mrs. Happy, I keep my mouth shut and decided to just let it go. The next day, it kicked in and I couldn't move my forehead or make those lines around my eyes. It has now been almost 5 months since I had it done and I can still see the effect and I'm going to continue doing it. Heck, I might even try some laser hair removal one of these days. Even though I am happy with the outcome of the Botox, my review is to applaud Avalon Medical Spa on their customer service. About a week after the appointment, Julia called to follow up and see if I had any questions or concerns. And just yesterday I received another call. She said she knew I lived out of town and couldn't come in again, but offered to take some time to find a good doctor in my area and send him my treatment records to make sure i received the same results and thank me again for coming in. I recently went to Miami with my wife after a month long vacation she was in need of a really good laser hair removal treatment and I needed to find a place for laser hair removal treatments that would work with our schedule. I chose Avalon based on its proximity to my room and my initial phone conversation with Julia. My wife has been through the treatments before, and she knew what to expect but still asked all the questions anyway. Julia is extremely polite & very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife said The laser felt very similar to her previous treatments and I noticed less hair. They had an event at offered great specials so my wife tried dermal fillers and botox for the first time. It looks natural which is exactly what she wanted. Went here for my first ever laser hair removal appointment and it went great! So fast, clean, professional and effective! Parking wasn't hard either. I anticipated to be in pain, but it was very tolerable. Kinda felt like a little bug bite with some warmth, but very very doable. After the treatment, my skin stayed a little red for a day, but they told me to expect that. Nothing major and it went away. Julia and Myra are both sweet. I am so happy I met them both. I came to Avalon Medical Spa for a touch up for quick laser hair removal a couple of months ago. I was so impressed with their customer service that I decided to also try them out for lip fillers since my other Doctor wasn't in Miami for the summer. My lips look so natural that no one could even guess that I've had them done! They had special where I also got a free photofacial. I never heard of it before and was a little scared getting laser treatments on my face. They did a little test spot first and it's pretty much a bright burst of light with a little zap. Honestly, laser hair removal hurts much more. I didn't see much improvement in my skin at first but hey, it was a freebie so I wasn't gonna complain. However, just this morning, when applying my make up I took a closer look at my skin and noticed such a difference. I was traveling in Miami and, with too much bravado, didn't wear enough sunscreen. I was so burned to a crisp, that I decided to seek out a medical spa to see if I could get a "serious" remedy. So I was in the Miami area and my friends convinced me to try botox...for the first time. You can imagine how nervous I was, but my friend told me about a place where she gets all her laser hair removal done, as well as her botox. I was in Miami over the holidays visiting my wife's family for the first time. As you can imagine I wanted to look my best for the occasion, but I was unable to schedule a Botox appointment at my usual med-spa in Beverly Hills before leaving. Upon landing in Miami we called a few places and Avalon were not only able to fit me in at almost no notice, but their Botox pricing was extremely reasonable, quite a lot lower than I usually pay :-) The facility itself was clean and comfortable, nicely furnished but not ostentatious. I was seen by Yulia, and she was absolutely wonderful! I was a little nervous going to an unfamiliar place on short notice, but she put me immediately at ease with her calm but confident manner. I am a part time miami resident and spend a lot time at my parents and am family house. I usually get all my treatment in Los Angeles but I have walked by Avalon Medical Spa a couple of times and finally decided to give it a try. I gathered up three of my girlfriends - mostly for emotional support, to attend one of their Botox and Juvederm events. I've had Botox before but it's been a while and I forgot what a difference it makes. Absolutely LOVE it. They numbed the skin before doing the injection so I barely felt a thing. I noticed it kick in a couple days later. They had a special for bikini and underarm laser hair removal so I signed up as well. So far, I've only had one treatment and I noticed some hair didn't grow up and a lot less ingrowns. Will update the review when I'm done with the 6. Recently got an email with a promotion for laser hair removal. Was always hesitant about getting it done before since I have dark skin, but called to inquire anyway. Julia told me that their laser is perfectly safe and invited me to come in for a test spot to ease my anxiety. I won't lie, it did hurt a little, but about a week later, the hair was gone. So armed with an ibuprofen I dragged myself in for their first morning appointment. 20 minutes later, all done and it wasn't as painful as I imagined to be, just a couple small areas were more jumpy then the rest. Personally, i think waxing hurts a lot more. I only had one done so far, but almost half my hair is gone. I so wish I did this sooner!!! read more
