We drove an hour to arrive at the Bounce City gate within the Aurora Mall to find it locked at 11 am. The opening times were listed on the outside wall, but no one was there. We waited until 11:20 am and still no one there. My 4 and 5 year old grandsons were highly disappointed. I looked downstairs to find an arcade to try and appease them for an hour. The older kids (usually between 3 and 7) are not great about wearing masks, but I am personally but as worried about kids. The price per child is very reasonable, and I spring for the 10-pass which saved you like $10 over the course of 10 visits. There are plenty of things to keep children of all ages engaged and challenged. My own daughter seems to be more bold when she sees slightly older kids climbing the bigger slides. At this time (March 2021), there are no in-and-out privileges. But you can bring in snacks so that your kids can play, eat, and play some more.

Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

The Lake House reopened during quarantine with many restrictions around food and social distancing, but we still had a blast. Parking was awful because the main entrance was blocked off, so we found a nearby school lot. It was a nice walk down to the marina. We headed straight to the bar and ordered White Claws and shots. Not sure if this is their typical alcohol selection or limited because of COVID-19. Either way, there was one bartender juggling all the patrons, and she was always friendly. Seating lined the outdoor patio facing the beach. My friend said there used to be live music here, but I guess we'll have to wait until the pandemic is over. For food, they only had basic hot dogs roasting in the oven and bags of chips. For how much we drank, I'm grateful there was anything. Overall it's a decent pub and a perfect spot to take the pups after a day in Cherry Creek park.

Obviously, you'll encounter several food stalls that sell the same item but they'll each taste different with their own recipe. So it can be hard to decipher which place is good. There are so many options. Best to have friends split and choose. I would suggest that when you're here, defiantly get a Fresca. They're so large and perfect to satisfy a thirst. Plenty of them do accept Apple Pay which is wonderful since I don't carry cash with me ever. They'll give you a beeper so when your foods ready, they'll notify you.
