was looking for wood stove and piping for a wood fireplace chimney. plan to move stove when new construction completed. they declined to even do an estimate! said we needed a "Level 2" inspection. told em wanted a metal pipe placed via the fireplace chimney. trrrible customer service. poor sales. won't even see the site. We ordered it because we wanted a certain color and even though we never saw the fire table in Bowman's store we were confident that the color would match the samples that Bowman allowed us to borrow for a few days. We were not disappointed. Dorothy was a great salesperson and answered all of our questions. Delivery and setting in place in our outdoor patio went smoothly-I am thankful Bowman sent 2 strong men to lift this heavy table. I have no regrets on this purchase. read more

They sell a fireplace with a 10 year warranty refused to stand behind it. Within the first year it was defective and does not work. Now I have an overpriced fireplace that does not work. Bowman's also discriminates in its business practices against its clients. If you are military, veteran or law enforcement they do not want your business. If you are looking for a company with integrity, this place is not for you. Now there is no heat in the living room for the holiday's. Update : I did have a service call scheduled to have the faulty fireplace fixed. Dustin Bowman (owner) called me back later this morning and told me that I had to "pre-pay" for any work. Insinuating I was going to seal from him. I asked him if that was a standard business practice and he said no but this account he wanted to make sure he got paid. I asked if there were ever any payment issues in the past and he said no. If Bowman's actually cared about their clients there would be a service person her to fix this before the holidays. Bowman's has known about the faulty fireplace for months and has never attempted to fix it. read more

I will preface these comments by saying that my Vermont Castings stove has lived up to its substantial, initial cost. However, Bowman's service has not. The service was prompt, and the tech was great. The surprise I received when the Invoiced showed up is another story. I am within a half hour of their office and was charged $219.00 just for "travel time" and "service call". None of which was presented at time of scheduling the service. At the price of their labor, $130.00/ Hour, I was out $320.00 before they even stepped foot on my property. I am in the customer service business myself, and I can promise, I will be spreading the word beyond this review..... Buyer beware of this Business. read more

I will preface with this. I was a return customer, had bought a stove and used them for maintenance gor 12 years 2 months ago we purchased a stove for our home addition. We told the sales person that this was new construction and we needed the pipe run through the roof to the stove. Stove was purchased, install and deliver paid. The sales person let us know it may be a couple hundred extra if it required more double wall pipe. At the end of August we called to set up install as the addition was framed and the roof was up. 1st call when my wife called the guy says we didnt pay for install in a new construction and that sales person is no longer there (personell issue, not mine), I call the next day, they say they are ready for install. Today they show up, crew claims they knew nothing about install, just set up. My contractor would not let them put the stove in the garage and had them call me. After some discussion, they measure and say someone would be in contact about charges for install (that couple hundred i assumed)...wrong. Install would be over 4 grand. When I call, they say they were only to do set up and double wall pipe went up in price. They knew we were on time line for construction, seemed like they just expect us to pay to keep on sched. I tell them no way, we will make a decision tonight and will call the next day. My contractor is great and is willing to adjust the schedule if we need to find another stove. I will be calling tomorrow for a refund. The whole thing feels like a scam and the sales person I spoke to today made it feel like this was normal and even my fault for not knowing the total price (after buying a stove for almost $4,000.00) would turn into over $8k. Something like this should include a call from someone running the show but... nope. They did make it clear they could do the refund over the phone and I did not need to come to their shop, yea I would not want me around other perspective customers either. read more

I needed a new pilot assembly for our Hearthstone gas stove of unknown age. Just 2 days before Christmas I was able to get several possible solutions from them and was able to get the part, customized to LPG from NG on the spot. Both the CSR on the phone and at the service desk the next day were helpful and patient with investigating the part I needed and how long it would take to get it. I love this place, so many big box stores sell skimpy trash outdoor furniture. Yes the stuff here is a little pricy but if you really want a nice outdoor area at Your house the stuff you want to buy is here. Furnished by entire backyard patio and pool from this place. Although the store is well laid out and items are presented well, the ability for good customer service from the young lady who cashed us out lacked. She divided her time between us and a customer on the phone, apologizing to the call customer but forgetting about the ones standing right in front of her! It made me feel like we weren't valued as paying customers! In her rush to get rid of us, she thrust our breakable item in a plastic bag without wrapping it - just to get back to the customer on the phone. I appreciate the need to multi task, however, only if it can be done well. We won't be back. read more

We found a great set of 4 chairs and a 4 top that we would have bought. However we wanted the table in lighter color that was set up with a different set of chairs. Nope. Can't switch sets out. The chairs worked with either table. Clearance items that didn't go home today. read more

I am very disappointed in the patio furniture. It was quite expensive, which I didnt mind paying because I thought it was good quality and would last for years. However, after just 2 years the fabric on most of the pieces became very discolored. The fabric was white and gray but turned an awful brown that I could not clean. The fabric was Telescope so I expected it to hold up well. In addition, I paid extra to have the frames powder coated so the paint would not chip but it chipped in several places. I contacted Bowman and their response was that they would give me a small discount to have the furniture recovered. I have patio furniture that I purchased at Lowe's over 15 years ago that has held up much better. read more
