Hackberry Fishing Camp & Marina is located near Lake Calcasieu which is close to the well known Lake Charles. Lake Calcasieu is widely known for its incredible fishing. There are many different species that you'll catch in the lake, but the common catch for our customers are Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, and the rare Tripple Tail. Speckled Trout range from about 4-7 pounds in this lake. Many fishing trips end with filling a customers freezer, because they're so easy to catch. The key to catching these trophy fish is fishing at just the right time. These fish feed like crazy during the winter and early spring. They are preparing for their long spawning months in the late spring through summer. Cast around the shallows and bank line and you're sure to catch a hungry Trout. With a limit of 25 fish daily and 12 inch minimum you will be surprised at how quickly you will be able to catch your limit. The Redfish in the lake are an aggressive, hard fighting thrill. It is not unusual for a big school of Reds to sneak up on you in the middle of Trout fishing.
