The gentleman who helped us made sure I understood exactly how to use air brakes as well as suggested we call ahead to ensure that the places we stay at had the ability to handle that large of a moving truck. Overall, we were so satisfied and happy with our rental. When I turned the truck in when we unloaded in Norcross, Georgia, it was so easy. If you rent - do take the insurance. It's cheap compared to what can go wrong. Just saying. Squaring off the turns can be a lot more difficult than it sounds and I was used to driving my dad's 24' Lazy Daze RV. I can also say I did need to call Penske on the road and they were responsive and super helpful.

Now they are charging my company for a windshield which was never broken while I had their sub. Come out and do an inspection when the driver returns the truck. Lying, gouging, prick outfit. As the Army was paying for it, cost was not a concern, only timeliness. When I called Uhaul, the earliest they could reserve us a truck was 1:30pm on Saturday. When we called Penske they gave us their "GUARANTEE" that there would be a truck waiting for us at the Spanish Fork, UT Home Depot at 7am. 7am rolls around, friends and family are there and ready to go....And surprise, the truck won't be there until 9am....They give us some excuse about it being driven in from another state. 9am rolls around, and still no truck, 11am is the next supposed benchmark. No real excuse this time. 11 am and no truck. "It will definitely be there by 1pm." 1pm comes by and Surprise! No Truck. FINALLY!!!! They call us at 1:30pm. They have a truck for us. In West Valley....A 3 hour round-trip from Nephi. So we called UHAUL back and to our surprise, they actually had a truck there at the time they promised they would. Penske makes their truck availability guarantee without actually having trucks available. They just set up as many reservations as they can and hope that they can shake a truck out somewhere. And since it's now the day of your move, it's too late for you to find anyone else so you're generally stuck with them. Our movers were stuck at our house the entire day as they piece meal strung us along for hours at a time, and in the end most ended up not being able to come help unload as we didn't get there until 11pm. FYI, no one with any authority whatsoever is "available" on Saturday to field questions or complaints. In addition when I first called they were going to charge nearly 75 cents per mile. I mentioned I had concerns and they dropped it to 65 cents. I mentioned my concerns again(none of which had anything to do with cost....) and suddenly the charge was 50 cents a mile. So if for some reason you go with these guys, make sure to haggle a bit and they will drastically drop the price. Uhaul was over a hundred and fifty dollars cheaper on their first quote, and met their original commitment. NEVER GO WITH PENSKE!!!!!

They pointed to a sedan and said we could take that car instead. My 5 friends and I looked at each other and were shocked at how ridiculous it was. How could 6 people fit in a sedan? It does not make sense! Customer service was trash. When we walked in, the guy didn't greet us. He just stared at me until I spoke first and told him that I have a reservation. The dumbest part was he didn't even cancel the reservation. My app still showed that the car was rented to us! I had to go cancel it myself as if it's my fault. Budget Car Rental totally ruined our plans. Unreliable and poor customer service. Luckily, we were able to get a car from Avis. Yes it costed a bit more given that it was a last minute rental but the service was 100x better and you get a peace of mind while traveling.
