It must be noted that this payment delay has been ongoing since for October of last years 2023, despite repeated assurances from the owner, Ben, who constantly cites various excuses for the delay ."home owners have not payed " is his favorite one . Being an experienced subcontractor who has worked on multiple homes for my self , I can confidently say that I have never encountered any payment issues until now. However, I am not writing this email solely for personal reasons, but also on behalf of several other subcontractors who are also facing the same predicament. It is important for you, as a homeowner, to be aware of this unfortunate situation, as you would not want to find yourself in a position where you hired a reputable company, only to later discover that said company fails to compensate their subcontractors adequately. Regrettably, due to the lack of payment from Box Painting, I am now compelled to pursue alternative measures, such as filing liens on the homes I have worked on which is totally not their fault. This course of action is taken to protect our rights and to ensure that we receive the compensation we rightfully deserve for our services rendered. This review refers work done just prior to Thanksgiving 2017. This is a top-notch company. I would highly recommend them to anyone in my family or circle of friends. The bid was very reasonable and done professionally. Even the start date that was estimated was just a week off, primarily because it rained the week they were going to start. Even then, they had come to do some prep work. They are fairly new, but the quality of work I received on my exterior house paint on combed shakes was very good. They cleaned up after themselves, worked a full day, and on one day, they worked longer than normal day to get caught up! Owner Ben came back to visit me personally to do a walk-around to make sure things were as I expected. While doing the inspection he actually found a couple things I didn't notice. He was back the next to correct them to my satisfaction. He even repaired a dry rot spot I was concerned about during that inspection at no extra charge. Very personable and professional. One area Ben is very excellent is his customer communication. You send him an email and he is replying within the day. Awesome skill to have as a service business! We had a wonderful experience using Box Painting. Ben and Christian were great. We had our exterior painted by them and they did a great job. After painting my home interior myself, I really wish I thought to pay a company like Box Painting and save myself the time and stress of clean up, getting equipment, and also doing the job right. We will be calling them for future projects, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have painting done. Things I greatly appreciated: - When they came out to quote up and sent us a quote, they itemized each and every service that would be done so I could clearly see what I was paying for and all the details it included. Not all the companies I have received quotes from take the care to list every service out. - Christian's patience with my children watching him and trying to talk to him while he worked. He had a great attitude each day painting in the heat and great communication with us on when he would leave and when he would be back. - A week after they finished the job we had the extreme heat wave of 115 and some of our house siding warped! We texted Ben, and later in that week Christian came by to help us fix the siding no questions asked. They are now our go to for exterior or painting services. Let me start by saying Box Painting is HORRIBLE. If I could leave zero stars I would. We hired this company to paint several interior rooms, ceilings, replace and paint trim and more. What was supposed to be a two week job ended up lasting almost four weeks before we had to fire them for their poor level of work. They wanted 93% of the original bid and only completed 50% of the work, if that. Rather than replace our trim, they opted to sand it down and paint it, which is not what we asked for. The incompetence of this company and their workers is astounding. We're having to repaint entire rooms, replace most of the trim, replace some brand new flooring they scratched with their razor blades and a lot more. They swept their garbage in our ducts and got paint all over our brand new counters and flooring, just to mention a few issues. This company is costing us way more money now because of the problems they've caused. read more

Our experience with Box Painting was a great experience. We have worked with several different contractors in the past and this was by far one of the more pleasant experiences. Ben and his team excelled in punctuality and follow through on his word throughout our extensive project. Like many projects we hit some small roadblocks along the way and Ben was always quick to resolve our issues in a timely manner. One of the things I admire about Ben and his team was how flexible he was with our requests and always went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied with the work being preformed. In the summer of 2018, I hired Box Painting to paint my house. I compared estimates from 5 companies. The estimates included replacement of siding that had been damaged by woodpeckers. Box was not the lowest estimate, but it was in the ball park. However, I've been a consultant in business for a long time. Their method of estimate was superior to all the others. I knew they knew what they were doing and not just guesstimating. They showed up on time. They did the job on schedule. Ben came out to the house several times to check on the work and on my concerns. I had an extremely urgent situation in dealing with the sale of my mother's house which required a large shop to be painted in a very short period of time. Also, this was in early December in the rainy mid-Willamette Valley. Ben and his team were extremely responsive and worked as quickly as possible, even working into the night to make sure that the job got done without compromising any quality. The weather was terrible but Ben made sure to keep in close contact with me to make sure that I knew what the forecast was and when he thought someone would be able to come out. After our record-breaking wet winter, we really needed something done. Ben Aeby from Box Painting came out, gave us an estimate and promptly scheduled us as soon as the weather cooperated. His guy, Jamie, did a thorough job prepping: washing and sanding with excellent attention to detail. He worked with us to get the exactly right stain color we wanted. It looks great. Box painting accomplished 2 items for us. 1 was a residing of our chimney and 2 the repainting of our home and outdoor shed. Both were done on time, within the estimate, and with professionalism. Ben kept us up to date by sending us pictures of the work as it progressed. After all was completed we did a walk through and even tho we had a couple things we thought they could touch up - Ben actually found a couple more and fixed them as well. I live in Woodburn and had Box Painting paint most of the interior of my 1400 sq. ft. house two years ago; they also put up wallpaper on one wall in the dining room. It took them one day and they did an excellent job. This spring I had Box paint the exterior and put moss killer on the roof, again they did excellent work. Ben took a deposit and never reached out to do the painting as he said he'd do. Now my husband is trying to get the deposit back. Ben said he had a check in the mail, but it never arrived. So my husband contacted him again and was assured it was being sent. But it was not. This is unethical, to take a deposit and not do the work. Now we're filing a complaint with the Oregon's Construction Contractors Board. read more

Ben and his crew did an excellent job painting my house and carport / patio cover. The new paint matched perfectly with the portions of the house that didn't need painting. The guys did a great job of moving stuff out of the way to paint and after finishing putting everything back where it belongs. It was a great experience. We had the entire inside of our 3500 sqft home repainted. They removed tons of wall paper, retextured walls, installed custom wainscoting, and painted all the trim before color went on the walls. Horrible. Don't waste your time and money. Our home looks worse than when we started. Damaged brand new flooring w razor blades, drippy, splotchy, horrible gapping on trim installation, caulking and bonding bumpy mess. The crew that Ben used did a great job on our house and shop. The shop had to be completely re-sided prior to painting and they took care of that as well. The only issues were, getting paint, which was not Ben's fault and communication with us. We would highly recommend Box painting and will use them again. read more
