I recently started looking into libraries in the area so I can take my daughter to enjoy some books. This location is absolutely perfect ! It was redone not too long ago and it shows. It's spectacular!!! The outdoor area is huge, with an amphitheater and huge grassy section. While this isn't exactly part of the library, it's a nice addition because you can take a stroll around the park when you're done. The actual library itself is in great shape. It looks brand new, it's spacious, and has two floors. I really like that the children's floor is nestled in the corner on the bottom floor because I don't feel bad when my daughter decides to get a little loud. The entire children's area is carpeted, they have a little train track rug, and even some toys available. They also have computers, a study hall area, and much more! While I haven't checked out the adult section yet, I do enjoy the kids section and highly recommend to anyone looking for some new books! read more

Wow! I haven't been here in 25 years. (Way to date myself) I've never been to this new building (took place of the old civic center & library), and I must say this place is gorgeous!!! Stunning architecture pieces with some jazzy abstract lighting and a bunch of smiling employees, this place felt so warm!! Came here to get a library card so I can use the Kanopy app. Staff members greeted me and helped me sign up pretty swiftly! Just bring an up to date drivers license and fill out a small form (basic name, age, residency, etc) and you'll get a card within minutes. I can't wait to come back, and go through the books when I have time! read more

Rude librarians. I went to purchase the used friends of the library donated books today. Came out to $35 and they said only cash. I only had $30 in cash and they would not take cash app or Zelle. They would not discount I had to remove 3 books from my pile of 15 books. They snipped at me too! I will never go back! I'll stick to Palm Beach Public libraries instead! Shame on you Boynton Library! read more

It's a nice looking building. It's combined with their City Hall. I learned their library card is only good for their library. Other Boynton Beach libraries need a different library card. That's because the state branches didn't merge with the city system. So their books r not tracked from other libraries. read more

January 10,2023, Tuesday.... Tonight from 6-8pm, at Boynton Beach City Library had a Card making Class. When they Offer these Classes, anyone can sign up. 2 WEEKS Prior of the Class, they allow a certain amount of people. The class is located in the Florida Room, Upstairs on the 2nd Floor. Christine & Rebecca are the Gals who work with the Library to Assist in these Fabulous Classes. Tonight's class was about using Card Stock in Your choice of color, cutting it down to size, then picking out Cotton Fabric if Your choice & Rubbing the Front of the Card with the GLUE STIK, then putting your Fabric ontop, then Embossing it with an Imprint of your choice, then adding Details of Washi Tape or Sequins or CRICUT cutouts or Gem stones, Just Alot of different choices. The Library supplies Everything, you just Need to Bring yourself after you have signed up & was accepted. This is my favorite place to come and get work done. The library is absolutely beautiful. The city hall building itself is really nice. Everything is accessible and wheelchair friendly. There are tables, study rooms, and individual study cubicles up for use! I love coming here. Staff is always at the door greeting you upon arrival. read more

Again, I can say how much I love this library. Very spacious, clean, and the staff is very friendly. This library only charges 10 cents to print compared to other libraries that charge .25 a page. One time I went to print 5 pages and I didn't have any cash with me (only my card) and the representative said not to worry about it. Best library in Palm Beach County. I only wish they were open on Sundays for last minute schoolwork. read more

This brand new library is located within the new City Hall building on Ocean Ave. There is the general use library upstairs above the youth library and city hall offices. To get to the upstairs general library, you can take the large modern staircase near the entrance doors or the elevators around the corner which is before the youth library. Both libraries are very modern and beautiful with great calming earth tones. The youth library has great decor including a "Little Mermaid" reading area for kids. Like the general use library, there are plenty of books to read. There is also a computer lab area and plenty of sitting areas to sit and enjoy reading in a quiet space. As a modern enhancement, both libraries have a computerized self check out station and a station to get an hourly loan of a laptop computer. Everything was very new and sterile looking. It was very quiet inside and if you don't have a library card, you can simply bring in a photo ID along with 2 documents showing a current county address. I felt that this could be the perfect place for the stay at home student to come to do their school work as well as read a good book read more

If you're new to the Palm Beach, be VERY careful when returning library books. I returned items here but days later they showed as overdue on my account. It turns out this library is not part of PB, so I technically did not return my books. This particular library then mails those incorrect items to a PB library, but don't track it or anything. So I have no proof I returned the items and may have to pay for them. There should be clear signs for patrons so they know about this issue. Libraries are supposed to enrich lives, not make them more difficult. Taxpayer money goes towards these errors as well. I just wish there were clear signs and I would have brought the items to the correct location. read more

This library was sort of hard for me to find. Once I came in it seemed to be a pretty typical library. Two floors. It's definitely an older building, but it seems to be taken care of, neat, and pretty clean. The parking lot and the main entrance are located in the back of the building, which Is why i mentioned it was sort of hard to find. The only real downside to this library is that there are no designated work spaces for those who want to come and find a quiet, free place to do work. (Like finish a dissertation) I ended up finding one tiny little table upstairs that has a computer on it that is supposed to be reserved. However, I brought my own laptop and the library was pretty empty so it worked for this occasion. I will probably search a different library to meet my needs next time, but if you're looking for books or polite people to assist you, there is nothing wrong w this location. Update: this is a temporary location. New library and town center is expected to be completed in May. I was asked to leave after 1 hour due to no space and other wanting to sit I guess. Oh well. At least now I know this location won't work! read more

Before you start going to return your books from other Palm Beach County locations, I just found out I can not return my books at this location. Since this book is a municipal library and run by the city Of Boynton Beach. I put my books in the drop box and the librarian returned them to me by explaining the situation. Even though I could not return my books here, this library is great. It is great with its size and set up throughout the library. If you are looking for a place to concentrate and study, this is your place. I go to a lot of libraries, this will be one of my top choices to study because there is barely any noise and they have some great study areas as well. Being a Boynton Beach resident, I will take advantage of the great reading material and space, will return.~ read more

I'm a complete dork. SO I love this library. I worked here when I was in high school and this was the hook up spot. If you came to the library you heard all the gossip and found cute people acting like they were studying to talk too. Now that I've come back, I enjoy the improvements even more. The library now has an additional floor, and floor plan that keeps the younger patrons safer by giving them their own section. Great for story time and summer reading programs. The adult section has a great fiction section and the areas on Florida History are one of the best for a public facility. Physically the building is beautiful and surrounded by a museum and a playground not to far along with a teen center. Another great addition is the snack center downstairs that's apart from the library. Grab a book a nd take it down there to enjoy a nice lite sandwich and a drink. And it's not just about the books, plenty of electronical devices, cds, DVDs in stock to please any of your passions. read more

Having visited some others, I don't love this library but I do think it is a valuable asset to the Boynton Beach Community. 2-story library with a children's department, computer lab, media collection and fictional books on the first level and non-fiction and reference materials available on the upper level. Attention all local students- This building is brand new and gorgeous! The library is inside the building that says "city hall" on the second floor. There are tons of nice quiet spots to study with wifi and outlets, something not too common in this area especially after covid. I love sitting at the tables outside the building- they are spaced really far for covid safety, which is really nice to do work and enjoy the weather. The only thing is the wifi is a less strong outside and I had trouble with zoom calling. However there was no problem once I went inside. I went into a study room in the library (you need your ID to book one) and it was perfect!!! If you're hardcore studying I highly recommend a study room! They have study rooms for one and two people. The rest of the library is quiet and spaced out for covid perfectly. There's sanitizer, everyone is wearing masks, and they wipe down areas after people leave. It was really covid friendly and conscientious. The staff is really nice and helpful. Will definitely be a regular study spot. read more

I came here since story time is on break at the library that we usually go. It's a two-story library filled with all different kinds of books and materials. It's very clean and huge. My son enjoys the story time they offer here as well. There isn't as many kids and the group interacts together by singing songs and playing with toys. There will be future visits here to keep the little one entertained and watch him grow at the same time. read more

I drive to this library even though the Delray library is closer because they know all about the new books that are coming out and they pre-order. I feel like they employee people who really love to read and keep current on new books. There's also a nice cafe at the library. They have a great children's section and DVD section. Now for those little things that annoy me a little. I don't understand this about FL libraries but they always have these teenagers hanging out at the library acting out and being rude. (I heard the kids were harassing the lady at the cafe and stealing stuff there) Don't they have somewhere else to go? Another thing is that I have to have a separate library card for each library. What's up with that? In NYC, I can use my card at any NYC library in any borough, return books at any library and even pay fines at any library. Maybe they should think about integrating the libraries so I can have my local library transfer the books from other branches. read more

I spent the better part of 2 months on the 2nd floor of this library in the quiet study rooms. Highly impressed with this library and really do think its a very well kept secret in East Boynton Beach. The staff was always attentive, rooms were clean, and surprisingly the other patrons were extremely respectful of others. read more
