We have passed by this branch library on Lantana Road many times and decided to stop in to check it out. The branch is large inside and has a large parking lot outside with many limited mobility spots. Good to see so many people taking advantage of the services, both young and old. There is even a Creative studio with all the equipment needed to create your own pod cast or other visual production. The only negative was in the print media (Newspaper) section. Several publications were missing sections or even whole days in the middle of a week. read more

We'd been driving by this library for a few years and finally decided to stop in and see it in person. There are always a lot of cars parked out front so it's obviously busy, busy. This is a relatively new library for Lantana. It was opened in 1923 but according to all reports it took a bit for it to be built -- construction delays, etc. It replaced their former library which was located in a bank building. This place is large! It is packed with books and tapes, etc. There's a long bank of computers in cubicles that can be used. And most of them on a mid-week mid-day time were occupied. There are private nooks and seating areas throughout. A reference section. A children's section. And most impressively, a recording room where you could do podcasts or filming of some sort. When we came by, there was a line of folks to get into the auditorium/meeting room. I'm not sure what was going on there, but they do have many programs and activities for families, children, etc. Overall, it was spacious, clean, and well-organized. It could be a bit overwhelming for some people. But it is easy to see why it is well patronized by the locals. read more

Last night my husband and I, along with about 50 others, enjoyed the program "I Read Dead People" at the Lantana Road Branch. The staff used their outstanding dramatic reading abilities to bring to life the writings of 6 dead authors. Their performances were so good you couldn't help but getting wrapped up in the stories they shared. The library team made their own costumes, did makeup and designed sets for their performances. Congratulations to the Lantana crew for an outstanding performance. . Sadly the performance runs only one evening. Be sure to mark your calendar for next year's event! read more

This library has plenty of parking and is easy to find, on the South side of Lantana Road. It may the closest County Library to where I live in downtown Lake Worth. I may have visited before but it has been at least a decade! The book return is inside of the actual Library instead of in the Lobby, which is so much easier to handle with small children. I was able to let each of my children put a book in the book return on their own. This little area to the left when walking in also had check out computers and the shelves of holds; the whole flow feels very organic. From there, my children noticed a Lego display, abandoned when they spotted the entrance to the children's section. Though not huge, it is easy to navigate, with plenty of room to sit at an empty table, even though it was pretty full at the time. I personally prefer a focus on just books rather than having toys/games to distract, but that's just me! We also made our way over to the adult non-fiction section and passed through a corridor of comic books and manga books. My kids had mentioned trying to find comic books and definitely wanted to check something out. Luckily, after discarding the (literally) murderous comics my child snagged from a shelf, we spotted a Disney compilation of Donald Duck comics to bring home. Win! I really love the ability to order books ahead of time and put on hold, and now I will start sending items here, as it was convenient and pleasant to visit. read more

It is a wonderful Library. Lots of computers. Most of yhe staff is friendly and helpful. A few books in the Adult section but still accomplishes the required reading. Plenty of parking and clean. read more

This Library is very clean and organized. However, it is extremely loud. No one adheres to the age-old Universal rule to be as quiet as you possibly can so as to not disturb others. No not at all, this library is more like a community center rather than a library. Of course you will hear a little bit of a rumble in the kids section but that is the least in this location. People shout across the room and a group of older adults actually came in and was playing cards; as if they were in their own backyard. They had a machine shuffler which was very loud as well. None of the staff addressed them and neither did the security guard. The staff definitely knew who they were, because they passed them a few times. So if studying is what you are trying to accomplish, this is not the best choice in libraries.. read more

Compared to some other locations in Palm Beach, this location is pretty big and has many selections of different books which are not available in smaller locations. They also have many check out stations. Employees: I asked a question about an app regarding electronic books but the check out employee just gave me a mean stare. And said go to information desk. I think there could have been a better way to say that. However if you don't have to deal with the employees or have a question then your visit can be very pleasant at this location. I stick with the self check out in most libraries so I can fairly quickly get my books. I love going to a library instead of getting an electronic version. Overall good library to study or borrow a book. Wish the employees were a little nicer but hey free books are good any day even with bad employees near by. ~ read more

My favorite library in Palm Beach County. I come here for peace, quiet and research. They have private study tables and private group study rooms. They have alot of comfortable seating all over the library tucked away in order to get into a good book or graphic novel undisturbed. The librarians at this location are wonderful when it comes to helping you with the many resources that the library system has to offer. There are classes and group activities you can also sign up for, which are usually free or for a very small cost. I recently found out that they have also have author book signings which pretty awesome. All that is missing is a coffee bar. read more

I love libraries! I love books! Stopped in and picked up some selections from a recent bestsellers list I came across. I am always pleased with the organization, cleanliness and overall operation of any of the Palm Beach County Library locations! In addition to picking up some good reads, I came across some classic media favorites: 12 Angry Men and Casablanca! Sooo many options, and all for free! You can not beat that, ladies and gentlemen! Very clean well kept library, the only complain I may have is the amount of computers for Internet access. If you need to work and find a printer make sure to go in the day where it's not a busy hour, such as after school when everyone is coming in; it's a hit or miss for the convenience to your movement. Great space to study, if you go towards the back wall there is more space to find yourself a quiet corner. good variety of books and materials , check out the upcoming events for adults and children :) I do appreciate the variety of programs set up for the children- the classes are delightful and the staff is very patient and knowledgable. I don't usually spend lots of time inside as I mostly put items on hold. Just go in pick them up and I'm out. The issue is that has been brought up, quite legitimately, is that in the main area of the library, some parents don't watch their children. In this case, the staff should ask them to quiet down or tell them to leave. This library also has some activities, some lectures, and I have attended on occasion. I'm seeing myself here more often as my son is getting older. It's a nice and very clean library. There is always someone there to help you if you can't find anything you are looking for on the search engine. The story times they have here are a lot of fun. The instructor is a lot of fun and she has a ball with the kids that get a kick out of her. They have a play area for the little ones and the children's area is huge. Whether you're a kid, teenager, or adult, they have a lot of books to get your nerd on with. read more

Taking LSAT in two weeks. Came here to study a great yet busy location. There's cubicles, separated tables, and room reservations. There are variety of books as well. Only thing they could improve is room reservation it's limited to two hours and you can't renew right after one has to wait an he or two before reserving another room. They also have computers for usage, time is limited. I usually bring my Mac. The service is exception considering how many elderly and non English speaker they have to deal with. The librarians are very hands on. read more

I am a private tutor and enjoy using this library to meet up with my students. It is clean and well kept. I deducted a star because it can sometimes get a bit noisy (and therefore distracting to the kids).. I wish they had more study rooms and/or a better system for reserving one (I.e online)...I get there 30 mins before my sessions just to try to get a room. read more

I like this library but my only complaint is the screaming children and parents that ignore them and the the grown ups that are on their phones speaking loud as if they're in their own living room or in the streets and the staff they do nothing about it there's no order in this library, I remember when libraries used to be a quiet place if you speak loud the staff would shush you read more

I love going to the library. This library is convenient to where I live, but isn't the best. There are ALWAYS screaming babies and moms intentionally ignoring the screaming child. There is a children's section, but not many parents stick around with their children in that section. There is one particular woman at the help desk who has shown and said some very discriminatory remarks. read more
