He was never rushed, super kind, and this procedure was a breeze compared to what I expected. His assistant, Tina, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, gentle, and I feel I've made new friends! I was in the ER last night…read morewith really bad jaw pain, and after a couple of wrong referrals and no's I was pointed in this direction. I called and explained my situation and instead of "no we don't take your insurance" it was "you're in pain, let me talk to Dr. Smith to see if he can maybe recommend some help". 5 minutes later I get a phone call, "can you make it here soon?". I was greeted by kind and friendly faces. Dr. Smith knew very well there was a chance my current insurance was a no go but his biggest concern was for my pain. I was in right away and he came and saw me quickly. He listened very intently and with more empathy than the ER doc. He was very gentle when he examined my jaw and was very careful not to cause me unnecessary pain. He fitted me with something to help, gave me advice on some home remedies, and told me if it didn't work he wanted to hear about it. He took the time to find the source of the pain and get to know the story before he rushed into treatment. His assistant would keep me company and when she had to step out other assistants would pop in and make sure I was doing ok. Nobody cared about payment or insurance, just my pain. So much kindness!! This place is amazing!! If I ever do get the right insurance this place would forever have my business and it will forever have my recommendation. Thank you guys! You were so caring and helpful!! I didn't know anything about this dental practice; I called them to see about a second opinion for…read morerestoring several teeth to prevent further damage because I was having doubts about the proposed treatment plan I received from another local dental practice, etc. Carolyn answered the phone, & she listened to my "tale of woe" from another local dental practice (check my reviews to read what happened there) which had me feeling rather hopeless about my teeth! Carolyn was reassuring, & she mentioned that if I needed a crown on another tooth, that it takes just one visit: I found that to be a game-changer for me (after spending multiple visits at another local dental practice over 2 months for ONE crown which failed, resulting in a very expensive root canal from a local endodontist)! I made the appointment, & recall telling Carolyn that it was because of her that I was doing so. I feel very strongly about excellent customer service & found Carolyn to be exceptional. As I told Dr. J. Max Wasserburger about what led me to seek this second opinion from him, I cried. After listening to me, reviewing all my x-rays, & examining my teeth, he reassured me that my teeth were not in the dire condition that I had been led to believe. Dr. Wasserburger is not only an excellent dentist, he's an artist! I asked him if he could use composite to fill in the worn areas on several teeth to protect & restore them before I get aligners or braces. What he did was AMAZING! I never expected to feel MORE confident over having these done, but I do, & his work looks fabulous--completely restored! It has made me feel HAPPY, & that is priceless. I've also had the remaining metal fillings removed & replaced with composite, & it feels so much better: The reason I needed two crowns in the first place was because my metal fillings had caused both of those teeth to crack & age prematurely. My crown experience with Dr. Wasserburger was FUN: The entire procedure for a permanent crown start-to-finish was complete in about 2 hours, & I even got to watch the crown being made! I have had some great dentists over the years, but Dr. Wasserburger is by far the BEST! If you need any kind of dental work, I highly recommend Hays Dental Group: Everyone you meet will make you feel welcome & glad that you're there.
