The gas isn't cheap, but it's close to the highway. The store is M&S, so also not cheap, but it has a good selection of snacks and fresh-looking premade foods. read more

I go here as often as I do because it is the closest place to my office, not out of a choice…read moreagainst other shops. So that explains its more of a necessity then a desire to go here. They do have offers but most things are still over priced for what they are, the sandwiches even though packaged do still seem get this stale texture to them which is remarkable. The meal deal at £4 is neither a deal or a meal, but the coffee deal is alright - £3 for a large coffee and a pastry or muffin. Whether you get that deal highly depends on the staff as they seem to forget their own offers so be vigilant so as not to miss out. It has a car wash, petrol pumps, FREE cash points and sells a small selection of magazines.
Texaco Petrol Station
What can I say about a petrol station!? Well, a bit I think! This is situated on Constitution Hill…read morenear the JQ. It's in fact, the closet one to my flat and I can see it from there as well. If your coming down Constitution towards town, its on your right and you have to do a bit of a U-turn to get into it. There's four pumps and it gets really busy at rush hour through the traffic. I've only filled up here a few times, mostly when its an emergency. This is because one time they made me pay before I filled up, which I hated. I know it's perfectly within their right to do this, but there no sign telling me and I was just shouted at over the tannoy. There's a very little shop inside selling the essentials, though I'd avoid that if I were you. I brought milk here once and it was off even though it said it was within date. A car wash had also just opened here as well. I don't know exactly how it works as the fore-core is slightly small and it narrows at one end. It's quite cheap though, it says that currently (June 2015) it's £2.50 for a wash, which is not too bad at all.

Wow. On both sides of the Atlantic we all know what to expect at the rest stop or motorway…read moreservices - anywhere from grungy and run down to updated and bright, maybe very basic fast food with minimal service to somewhat higher standard plus a shop or two with some food basics and snacks. BUT would you expect a shop/supermarket with full service butcher, fresh baked bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, countless tempting cakes, fresh flowers and plants, wide variety of beers and ciders, many wines, champagnes, gins and so much more - I think not! But at this service stop by the motorway this is exactly what you get!! A Wholefoods or Gelmans (for you Americans) or actually even better - a farmers market with all the trimmings - Wow!! I would say unique but it isn't - I asked and there are 3 more - a second (I assume) identical one on the Southbound side of the M5 motorway and two more elsewhere in Gloucestershire. Needless to say - two thumbs up! Sadly I just wish there was one closer to home!

Why then is the fuel so much dearer than in the towns? I don't buy from them because of that. When I drive past there in hardly ever anyone filling up. I looked in both cuttlery trays and was dismayed to find both cotained dirty cuttlery. I took some extra serviettes to my table, so that I could give my knife and fork a good wipe. Whether the marks were from a dishwasher or something else, it is unacceptable, especially as all the other cuttlery was in the same condition. I didn't feel able to mention it to any passing staff, they looked pretty busy. As Morrisons is one of the four main supermarkets, you would think they could get the basics right.

They stock almost anything related to car engines, and if they don't have it in stock, then they can usually get it within 24 hours. They supply most of the garages in the County with their parts - you'll probably have seen their little vans nipping about! I don't think they do delivery for private individuals, but I may be wrong. It's not always easy to park here, as the car park is only small and has a massive waste skip on one side of it! but apart from that, it's great. There are always plenty of staff about - and the phone is always ringing and gets answered promptly. The staff are pretty honest about cost and quality of stuff too, so you can make a judgement on what you want.
