Most hotels offer shower only rooms after remodeling. Breakfast in the hotel was amazing; included fresh fruits and juices, the traditional Irish entrees or you could opt for pancakes. Every meal includes potatoes; good potatoes. Something special about this hotel is the lavender balm. I meant to request more before I left. You rub this on your wrists or neck before bed and it is supposed to relax you and promote better sleep. It smells so good.

We dined in he second night from the buffet and found the food to be excellent, especially the desserts which included beautiful profiteroles filled with creme patisserie (not cream which is a sin) and a wedge of cheese cake which was light and delicious, melting in the mouth making you feel like having a second one would not hurt the waist line too much. Every member of staff from the cleaning staff to duty managers always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello and you are really made feel at home while staying there. The rooms are warm, comfortable and modern making each night after a hectic day a joy to return to. The hotel ensures that all guests are catered for especially the children with nightly activities organised for all the family which included a kids disco and bingo. We attended the kids disco with DJ Richie B who really entertained the kids giving out prizes and covering children with snow from his snow machine while playing frozen songs. The staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating, the restaurant was already closed by the time we all arrived(there were multiple parties in the same situation. They allowed us to sit in the pub where they pulled together a wonderful 3- course menu to accommodate us even though the kitten was closed- the food was fabulous and the wait staff very attentive and helpful. A few hours later we were off- back to the airport- in a cab arranged by the front desk and with a takeaway breakfast. This hotel and its staff were a bright light, in an otherwise unpleasant situation. I would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers.

The service was outstanding including Cian, Cormac and Karl in the bar. The rooms are nicely sized, extremely clean and top notch amenities. The furnishings and designs are things you would expect to see in films. My favorite rooms were probably the Bottlery (wine room) and The Buttery (the kitchen). Their castle dog, Ri, was super adorable and roamed around as if he owns the place. Some castles can feel intimidating but this place felt very intimate and homey. If only I could live there forever....
