Highly dont recommend buying a vehicle from Brad Deery Honda in Burlington iowa, we bought a 2017 chrysler pacifica from them, promised it was gone through and looked over with no issues, no more then get it home and check engine light comes on for cylinder 5 misfire, I call them right away n tell them the issue. So they was aware, I then diagnosed it and ended up finding a bad head gasket. After this I called back, they asked me to bring it to their service department so they could double check it and get it ready to send the diagnosis to warranty since it had a 3 month used car warranty through them. Once they had it torn down and in pieces the warranty company decided they dont want to cover a head gasket bc its a gasket. So im getting stuck with the bill for the car we had in our possession for about a week, and bought over a month ago. Now I contact their general manager, Mark, to try and work something out and i even offer to pay for the parts, or even split the bill, and he pretty well tells me he dont give a shit about me, he has other paying customers, to deal with and dont care about my issues. After 2 days of calls with him he finally thinks hes being nice and offered me 700 off an already almost 4000 dollar bill. So if you are thinking about buying a vehicle from brad deery honda in Burlington, please rethink that and stay away from them. Attempted to buy a $25,224 2018 CR-V thru online sales. I was promised a return call on Friday morning, and an email by Friday PM by Wendy. I finally was able to work with Khris directly on Tuesday afternoon, and he worked really hard for me. He then said that he'd get back to me after lunch with approximate trade in amount to move the deal forward. However, when he came back from lunch, the car was already "in a deal.". I contacted them early on a Thursday morning stating I was very interested and willing to drive 2.5 hours. I did not get any answers until the following Tuesday afternoon. Brad Deery Honda Burlington Iowa- Marc Luedtke The worst experience ever!! My son and I when to buy his first car. We ended up at the their dealership. We look at BMW that was on their lot and assure that every thing work great on the car no mechanic issue. My husband even asked if we drive it off the lot and something happen will they take care of it ad they same they would make it right. We drive it for less than an hour and the oil light come on. We check the oil to find that it was empty. This cannot be because the car was check out and everything was great on the car. I called the dealership and questioned it. I took the car back-up there and they took it to the back said they checked the oil and everything was fine. Took their word again, brought it home and placed a box under it to come out this morning and have oil all over the box. So they had the chance to admitted to it and cover the issue up again. We hooked the tester up to the car to find that there is also an exhaust issue as well. read more

We contacted Brad Deery Honda when we were looking for a new CR-V. Honda's website showed that they had one vehicle in transit to Brad Deery. We confirmed it and they asked for a deposit which we provided. Apparently, that vehicle was a demo vehicle and they couldn't sell that vehicle to us for 90 days. Fine, mistakes happen but on top of that, they already pulled over credit before even they had the vehicle to sell. Absolute disastrous first impression. We ended up getting a vehicle from a different dealership but they should've done better on knowing what vehicle they were getting and not pulling our credit if they didn't have a vehicle to sell. read more

Do not recommend getting a vehicle from Brad Deery in west Burlington!! Got a car inspected by my mechanic he said the bearing needs replaced. Brad deery said no problem they will fix it by Thursday at 8am they gave my mom a time and everything. A couple days later we came back and they refused to fix it (we assumed it was fixed when we came then after we signed paperwork I asked and that's when they refused to fix it yet they promised it would be fixed by the time I came . During the entire buying process we had different people telling us different things. Got told it would have bumper to bumper warranty and that it would be X amount of money. They did not have the bumper to bumper warranty and didn't tell me until after I bought yet told me before I bought it that it does. Also the price went higher after we signed everything even tho when we first started it was promised payments or $315 and then after everything went through they refuse to do the $315 and made me do $380 I've already signed paperwork so I cannot back out at this point. Then once I left found out the key fob doesn't work and the break light was out. We went back (SAME DAY FEW HOURS LATER) they refuse to give me a new key fob and refuse to fix break light. (Auto zone did it in less than 5 minute thank god) the key fob I test drove it works after I signed paperwork is when she gave me the broken one. I drove it for a day and now the tire pressure light is already on. Never get a car from here, I've financed a car before and NEVER had any of these experiences. I attempted to purchase a vehicle at this dealership from a distance. They took my credit card deposit, assured me the truck would be moved to the back and it was mine, and before we could complete the transaction the next day, they came back and told me they sold the vehicle to someone else because they paid more money. It is my opinion that people that act this way are dishonest, deceitful, black integrity, and should not be dealt with. If they're willing to take a deposit, good money, and then break their contract if someone comes along who is willing to pay more in a short period before you can complete the transaction, that is like theft. I emailed them, got a deal worked out and drove there the next day to get the new car, the paperwork was all ready and I was out of there with my brand new car in less than an hour! This was hassle free, they didn't waste my time, they weren't pushy, there was no great and powerful Oz behind a curtain and they did things in a very timely manner. I placed a deposit on a truck that I later purchased, but Brad Deery Honda still has not refunded my deposit per our agreement. I live in Denver, Colorado. On 6/12/2020 I placed a $500.00 Deposit on a vehicle from Brad Deery Honda. On 6/16/2020 the vehicle was delivered to me in Colorado. I paid for the vehicle In Full upon delivery. Per our agreement, Brad Deery Honda was to immediately refund my $500.00 Deposit. I have contacted my sales rep numerous times over the past 1.5 Months regarding this. Each time I have gotten a different story. First it was the refunds are put through on Mondays and it takes 5-7 business days to go through, then it was dropped by one of the Finance guys but he was going to put it through the next Monday, then they're not sure what happened but it's getting done the following Monday and the latest is that no one knows what the issue is but I should keep contacting Finance about it. My Deposit was placed via a credit card. It's pretty simple to issue a refund on a credit card, yet so far no one at Brad Deery Honda has demonstrated they possess the aptitude over the past month and a half to get this done. read more

spent 20,000.00 I was told everything checked over and worked correctly. I didn't even get it off of the lot after I bought it and had serious issues that were flat out concealed and misrepresented by the salesman. had the truck for 1 month, 3 weeks in the shop getting 8,000.00 in work done... and I still need 2k in repairs. unless its brand new, I don't recommend buying here. you cant believe the sales rep, you cant trust the service dept. buyer "be aware" if I were spending 5k id expect repairs and issues but when you spend 20k... that's so sketchy it should be illegal. if its used take it to a mechanic before you buy to be certain what your told is the actual truth and not a blatant lie. read more

Look. Today I bought the 2nd car in a row for our family at Brad Deery Honda. Both experiences have been outstanding. They made both transactions fair and stress-free. I have to be extremely careful because my mom is immune-compromised. This afternoon Kennedy facilitated the entire transaction outside, paperwork and all. My visit took 45 minutes (back in the day it would take all day...). Their price for my trade-in and the new CRV were very fair. Honest, easy, kind, professional--I'll come back. I went to Brad Deery for a used car. While I was there they tried to get me to lease brand new honda which was no problem and I was at first interested in it but as I debated what to do I decided to go with a used vehicle a chevy impala. I am not that experienced with buying a car on my own and my son-in-law was at work and couldn't go with me. I was told that any dealership is supposed to do a 120 point inspection. Brad Deery said they did a 120 point inspection on the impala. It was sold of course as is and I was aware of that. Usually when you buy a car at a dealership you feel that they are being honest when told that they did the inspection. But I don't believe they did the inspection at all. Within 12 hours of having the car I had my son-in- law look at it and he found I needed new wheel bearings, and within 24 hours he realized I needed brakes and the heater was making a horrible noise. When I called Brad Deery they told me pretty much to bad I should have bought the new car then I wouldn't be having trouble now. They did tell me that they would fix the wheel bearings for another 600 dollars, I told them no thanks I would take care of it myself. I would never recommend them to anyone and neither would my son-in-law. I feel like I was totally taken advantage of. I have never had this problem with any other dealer especially since it all happened within 24 hours of having the car. read more

Brad Deery Honda in Burlington, Iowa said truck was "mechanically very sound" but this is not the case. This is an express warranty to me and I will be looking to pursue this matter. As I read some other reviews now I see this is a repeat problem with them on used cars. I drove all the way from North Dakota with a 2 year old to buy the 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD that had posted on car gurus. I asked if there where any issues with it and she said "it was mechanically very sound" and that the tires in her opinion were 50%. Well I told her that I would be using it for work 4-5 days a week while towing a trailer behind and that was her assurance to me along with telling me that they have a 6,000 mile/6 month warranty. I felt better knowing this as I have zero mechanical experience. Once I got there truck tires were nearly bald, except one which was a completely different tire and size. Then on my test drive it made a sputtering noise here and there. Well I brought it up to sales guy and he said that they perform a 140 or 121 (can't remember) point inspection so it should be fine. I asked to have their mechanic go on the test drive with me. It ended up getting really nasty with the general manager Marc Luetke who said I was trying to go there and get price lowered when I asked if it could be reduced due to tires. He acted like he didn't need my business and told me either I can buy it or he can drop me off at the bus station. I told him I wouldn't buy it and he said he'll have me dropped off at the bus station or somewhere of my choice. Then later he came back and was acting really nice to me and my son and had us sit in his office. Told me if a mechanic did a test drive with me would I be interested in buying truck. I told him I came all the way out there, spent a night in a hotel, scheduled to pick up a trailer & all so yes I wanted to buy it but I didn't want any mechanical issues as I have a toddler who will be with me as I'd be using it for work and he was coming with me 4-5 days a week. Mechanic drove it and said it was the rod for the 4x4. They told me they would order part, send it to me and I just need to find somewhere to have it put on. Service guy said it was good to go and that was the only thing. HA! I drove it and felt it pulled a bit, made a sound that didn't seem right so got it inspected and the mechanic said it wasn't safe to drive. He didn't even finish his inspection & said to many things wrong with it. So much for the warranty. Front right hub assembly, steering gear loose and leaking, no spare tire, transfer case bad, no fluid & burned, rear driveshaft u-joints and front yoke..these are $4,000 - $6,000 to have fixed. Inspection wasn't completed so who knows what else. I then took it to the Ford dealership in my state who offers the same warranty and they said they shouldn't have sold the vehicle in that condition basically telling me to return the vehicle. They also said if they did the inspection all that would've came up and they wouldn't have offered that warranty or sold it like that. Brad Deery Honda TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AND SOLD ME A LEMON. When I called to speak to Marc Luedtke today and tell him the issues he told me well it couldn't be that unsafe to drive as I drove it home. If that was the case there would never be a need for recalls! Just because something seems to work doesn't make it safe!!!! I can't imagine being on the highway and something locked up on me with my son in the car! Then he tells me I bought it "as is". He asked me to then send him the mechanic slip so that's what I did. Not a good experience with this dealership. This is the first purchase we've made via internet and over phone and email communication. We purchase the vehicle and seemed to have good customer service at the beginning of discussions until we made the purchase. We were told the vehicle would be "shipped" to us, for a fee. Just a clarification, delivery means the vehicle was driven more than 350 miles to us. Upon delivery of the 2015 Honda Pilot, the mileage was almost 2000 more miles that what was advertised. I notified the manager via email the day we received it of the mileage difference. No paperwork was given us upon "delivery". It took several days and 2 phone calls to get the paperwork and temporary tag.The communication with the General Manager (who sold us the vehicle) was terrible after that. Once we did get in contact, he acted like he had no idea there was a problem, and in general was not helpful to us, the customer. Couple other things...we were told the interior was gray because we couldn't tell from the pics--it's black. Secondly, since the purchase I noticed the vibration in the front. We took it to the local Honda dealer and the front wheel bearings are bad--we've had it less than a month. So much for the 130 point inspection.
