Braendel Painting & Services, Inc. quoted me $3,500 to paint my kitchen. I signed a contract with Braendel on June 5, 2021, and they began the work shortly thereafter. However, the project was not completed until nine months later. I had expected the job to be finished within a few days. Throughout the project, I repeatedly contacted Braendel to address areas that had been left unpainted and sections where the paint had peeled from the cabinets. Braendel painted over cabinets that were more than 50 years old without sanding or priming them beforehand. I can personally attest to this because I was present throughout the entire project and observed the work being performed. As a result, the paint began peeling. I called several times requesting that the cabinets be repainted. Although Braendel later used a more expensive paint, the peeling problem continued. At no point did the owner or project manager contact me to ask whether I was satisfied with the work. Instead, a different painter was sent each time I reported problems. During one visit, I overheard a phone conversation between the company and the painter they had sent. Someone from the Company asked, "Is she for real?" The painter replied, "Yes. I am now painting the ceiling that was not completed." Even after these issues were addressed, the project manager never contacted me to discuss the quality of the work or my satisfaction with the project. Eventually, the last painter assigned to my job, Eric Godlewski, took the cabinet doors home and repainted them. I was pleased with the quality of his work. Before he left, I asked whether he knew anyone who installed replacement windows. Mr. Godlewski offered to do the work himself. Based on my positive experience with his cabinet work, I agreed. Mr. Godlewski measured the windows, purchased them, and stacked them on my back porch. On March 31, 2022, I gave him $4,300, and he provided me with a receipt. After that, I never heard from him again. I was out $4,300. To make matters worse, the windows that were purchased were all the wrong size and did not fit any of my window openings. Because they could not be returned, I donated them to Habitat for Humanity. I chose to work with Braendel because the company had a good reputation. Since then, I have learned that Mr. Godlewski has an extensive criminal record. In my opinion, Braendel should have exercised greater care in selecting and supervising individuals representing the company. I contacted Dan Bishop, the project manager for Braendel, several times regarding these issues. He returned only one call and informed me that Braendel was not responsible. We had Braendel Services remodel basically our whole condo. Could not be happier with this project. It's beautiful. So happy, we are doing more updates. Ben is a stellar craftsman. Very easy to work with and very creative. They did a lot of custom tile work, crown molding, custom closets, pull-out shelves in kitchen, countertops, changed all interior doors. repainted whole house. A year and a half ago, I hired Braendel to remove double ovens, and they removed my cupboards, which were above them. They reinstalled my top cupboards afterwards. This past December, just as I had left the Kitchen, I heard a very loud and scary crashing sound. To my shock, all my top cupboards on that same wall, had come crashing down! The scene was unbelievable, as I looked, and everything I owned and cherished, was broken and piled up on the floor of the whole Kitchen. The workmanship wasn't the greatest .When I mentioned to the manager of the company on Niagara Falls Blvd in the Town of Tonawanda, that if someone was in the Kitchen when they crashed, they would have been killed or hurt very badly, his comment was "Well, that didn't happen! If it did, we'd be having a different conversation!" Please consider before hiring!! . I should have searched for a more competent and reliable company! read more

Got a good recommendation for Braendel Painting and asked for a quote. Reasonable quote so I went with them. Dan was very responsive and seemed to know his work. Men came and did a very good job. We have been very happy with the work done at our former house and our new home when we moved this summer. Dan and Kellen provided the estimates. They are quite courteous, attentive and helpful when asked for suggestions. The price was fair and itemized for particular tasks as we requested. At the former house, Fred and Tim did a great job painting (including a cathedral ceiling), repairing drywall, carpentry work and completing odd jobs. They worked around us well during the four days they were present and left our home neat and clean each evening. Likewise, Mike, Brian and Mark painted several rooms in our new home and did a very nice job. We are happy to recommend Braendel. read more

The review of Joe M who gave a one star rating 4 years ago is far from a one star rating. I hired Braendel about three weeks ago to redo my family room by painting the 24 by 14 family room with two coats of paint which involved painting ceiling, ceiling beams , dark paneling,fireplace mantel and six doors and all the trim which was a different color. I also had this company do painting with two coats of most of my basement walls, ceiling and metal polls that involved about a 30 by 13 area and a 10 by 9 in another area. As to the painting. I would rate over a B to B (+).It could have been higher but my wife needed to point out a few areas that needed attention which were corrected quickly. Also, a little better job of cleaning up in the six days of painting.This company at the same time of the painting, did electrical work in installing five beam lights throughout the family room beams. They installed a new ceiling light in my family room entrance and hooked up my new tv on the wall without the wires sticking out of the walls by using a metal shelf below TV for the cable box. Overall I would rate the electrical work a high B([+]. In addition they did carpentry. They removed old folding doors in family room and installed new folding doors that they went and got to install. In addition, in the basement they built two new small wooden closets about 5 by 5 by 4 to hide water meter and sump pump areas with the closet and door. In addition they built a new wooden wall about 20 long that went from back wall ceiling to floor , and which separated the basement sinks, washing machine and dryer from the new livable area on the other side. Overall I would rate their carpentry with a B to B(+). In addition , Jeff the man in charge of the whole crew, did me a fantastic favor even before the work began. He volunteered to meet me at Walmart. He helped me pick out the new tv , the tv shelf for the cable box . He put it in his truck and brought it to our home. He unpacked it.He set it up and gave my wife and I directions on how to work this new ROKU tv. I would give Jeff an A (+) for this work that he did for this 78 year old man who had a 32 inch old tv for 25 years, and had no idea how new tv's worked. So the whole work project took six work days. I would rate the cost as fair that we paid. In addition, the crew removed a wall to wall thick carpeting from the family room. They cut it up and took that away plus all the wallboard and wood pieces that resulted from the new wall and closets. They started work about 830 and worked til 339 to 400. The men we met were very accommodating and hard workers..So overall I rate this work between a B and B(+)or an 88% grade. (I have a teaching degree so that's why my grades.).Lastly, if u r looking for an overall contractor to do painting, electrical and carpentry with a fair price then consider. read more

They did high quality work and were very friendly. They did an excellent job and were very helpful in suggesting improvements in my home, including picking out the best paint colours. Thanks to the very professional and courteous crew, I now have a fantastic kitchen....I feel like I'm in a new house. They put up plastic every day to contain the dust and drop clothes on the floor....which were removed every night so my house was not in a state of disarray. We own a Tudor style house. The boards and stucco work that needed replacement,were replaced or repaired. All the outside woodwork, windows and doors were painted. We could not be more pleased. Worst contractor I have ever used. The estimate was 2 weeks. After 3 months we told them not to come back. They did not finish the job and what they did was completely substandard at every step. Poor work in putting in a door. Horrible work in finishing a wall. Completely incompetent painters. Plumbing was a joke. Just miserable experience dealing with management, the owners in Erie, and the day-to-day problems. The person who does the estimates is very talented at telling you everything you want to hear. Then the nightmare begins. Run, don't walk, in the other direction. read more
