The original number he came up with was something like 25K (for a call about a light switch). We seemed to have reached some sort of agreement; and since I'm facilitating selling my mother's house, I got them in touch. Things seemed fine with the lesser fix of 2K. Two weeks before the house goes on the market, I text him and he tells me verbatim "I'm not fixing your electric". Pièce de ré·sis·tance, he blocks my number. 1. My mom & stepfather flew out from CA and fixed the problem in about two hours (along with a bunch of other things him and his buddy Austin left halfway finished: those took several days). 2. I don't think Roger's even a licensed electrician, and if he is, he needs to go back to school. 3. And wouldn't ya know it, he charged me $150 to do less than nothing--He pulled out wires and plates, ripped off part of my door frame for some reason, and then just left them for me to deal with. I wouldn't let this guy anywhere near my house again.

Roger was helpful and straightforward about adding a dishwasher to our kitchen. It's a completely functional fix until we're ready to do a full remodel.

(This project was shortly after Covid and contractors were in very short supply.) When it was ready he informed me that the prices had gone up and he needed $17K. Then I requested a price for a portion of the basement (walls but minus ceilings in two small rooms and a closet) the price jumper to $30K! AND he demanded CASH. In any other situation I would have told him to go fly a kite but I desperately needed to keep the job moving so I acquiesced. The work took forever but they did end up doing a good job even though I felt like I got completely hosed. To make it worse, he responded to my review by claiming that it was fake and written by a competitor. I just saw that today and it really put me off so I decided to revel more about his business shortcomings: I should've added that one of the reasons it took forever to do the job is that his crew would stop every couple of hours to go out and smoke weed. And I was considering contacting the IRS to inform them that he was demanding cash but I stopped short of that action. My strongest suggestion is beware of doing business with this person because he is cleary dishonest and unethical. It would not surprise me at all if by this time he is out of business (this is July 2026). Fortunately the neighbors have CCTV installed because he is obviously a vindictive type.

We enlisted the services of Apollo Drywall & Painting to eliminate the unsightly popcorn ceilings and to fresh paint our new retirement home. Like anyone I contacted other companies and by far Apollo was the best response and price wise. We even had one that never even cared to respond and another that came and looked for the estimate and never called back. Their losses! So Apollo was a no brainer choice for us and dealing with with Russell the owner and his Office Admin. Bridget was an easy and pure joy as we pretty much communicated all long distance by texting before we finally moved in . The process took 2 weeks of excruciating detail and effort by Mike & Chris who were on our project. Their work was above and beyond what we could have expected and they were always prompt and early and left behind "the cleanest job site ever" every day as my son in law who checked in daily in our absence would attest to. When we arrived the 2nd week they worked around us to get the job done so we were able to see first hand the tremendous effort to get it ALL done perfect. They were personable and pleasant to have around which was a big help. They even helped us move some boxes around and assist with setting up our beds at their request- they also went back and tightened up loose fans as they had to move them to remove ceiling and to paint ! They were apologetic but had no need to be. In the end the home is absolutely beautiful thanks to their extra effort in the final stages of the painting. They were meticulous and told us that until we saw all and they touched up all they would not leave! They would not leave till we were 100% satisfied. Well we werent- We were 110% satisfied and happy. We met Russell and he could not have been nicer as he too was very pleased and explained how much work the job really took- a few of our ceilings were very uncooperative in leaving their home for so many years but gone they are and we couldn`t be happier. Our home looks new and happy with its face lift as are we. We are so grateful for the personality - work ethic and professionalism shown by Mike- Chris- Russell- and Bridget throughout our project and give them the most respected recommendation for anyone else looking for similar work.

This dude does it right, does it well, and does it for reasonable prices. He works clean and is honest and trustworthy. If you hire him once it's pretty much a guarantee you will hire him again because he is really good at what he does. My 1st floor bathroom was devastatingly brown. Brown tile floor, brown wood vanity. Why would anyone choose to make a bathroom the color of poop I cannot reconcile to myself. I have been annoying my husband for two years since we moved in to the house with my rants about it. This year I convinced him to let me spend some of our tax return on changing that. Thanks to my raging addiction to HGTV I knew exactly what I wanted to do in there and contacted Brian about my vision in mind. He is the most laid back dude, super chill and easy to work with. Brian does beautiful tile work, he made some very helpful suggestions about the tile and how to lay it so it would look the nicest. Aside from the tile work, he also changed out the shower head, replaced the vanity sink and installed faucets and a new backsplash, replaced the mirror, light fixture and toilet. Oh! And he hung up some shelves and changed the light above the shower. He did an amazing job. My husband was very happy with the changes that were made, his only negative was "This is so nice now the rest of the house looks like crap". Ha! Sounds like he's challenging me to think of new projects to hire Brian for. Two Ells for the win!

Kelly B recommended Brian at Two Ells. I called him that day, left a message. He returned the message that day and we set up a time for an estimate. I love prompt responsiveness, and right off the bat, I had a good feeling about Brian. My parents haven't had any major work done in their 1980-built house since they moved in, circa 1984. Partly because they didn't want to spend the money and partly because it can be difficult finding an honest, affordable contractor, which has to do with the first reason really. Two of the several things I'm super grateful for regarding the way Brian works are his honesty and his ability to see projects in a cost-effective way. He is also extremely patient. My Mom had some health issues arise during our plans and Brian was so patient with us and having to push the date back (& our slacking on picking out materials, mostly because my mom is a perfectionist procrastinator). While we were waiting on the bathroom finalization, Brian painted our upstairs hallway and our family room and did a great job. He also replaced all of the gross fluorescent tube lighting in our kitchen and powder room with recessed lighting. I swear if you can only change one thing in a house built in the 70's-80's, the upgrade in lighting will make a WORLD of difference. My parents home only has one shower so it was VITAL that the tub and shower tile work was done relatively quickly. Brian and Bryce had the tub, tiles, and fixtures installed and ready to be used in 3.5 days. We were blown away with how quickly they worked and how beautiful the tile work turned out. The remainder of the bathroom work (new floor, new toilet, new lighting, painting, new doors, new vanity and counter top) took about 7-8 work days, at the most. We had a delay in getting the vanity and counter top from the materials supplier, but Brian checked in every couple of days to let us know what was going on. The project altogether probably took about 10 days. To remodel a full bathroom. Yay! I highly recommend Two Ells. Their pricing for our projects was SUPER reasonable and Brian is a really good, honest guy. He had great communication with us throughout our projects. We had estimates from a couple of other contractors initially but we got the best feeling from Brian and knew he was the man for our job! We look forward to working more with him in the future! It disappoints me to see so many of the reviews for this business filtered because I'm sure they are legit. Brian deserves all of that praise for the quality work he does. Thanks Brian! We'll see ya' soon! :D
