Before the engagement shoot, I was admittedly a bit nervous about feeling awkward with posing certain ways that I wasn't used to. Donnell was great about breaking the ice, making the photoshoot feel natural, and getting some laughs out of us. WMP exact words were: "Based on your feedback, I have made some changes to the process if we do a free engagement session drawing again. I called again at the beginning of the next week, and no reply, so today ( a week later)I decided to leave a Facebook review to ask if there were other avenues to contact him. He immediately, I mean within 30 seconds called me back and asked me to take the review down! Seriously?? You couldn't call me back for pictures, but you can call me about a Facebook post?? During the conversation, he told me he was ill, and has been out, to which I gave my apologies but not without letting him know that it's good customer service to leave a message for clients letting them know. His response?? That I wasn't a client and merely just inquiring about an engagement shoot?? I have a $5k budget for a photographer, and was looking for one- I could have easily been a client of his- but his attitude quickly made my decision for me! I scheduled an appointment with him and from our consultation I knew it would be a great experience. He was interested in knowing about me and what I wanted not only from my pictures, but from my career. He was interested in getting me the best shots to achieve my personal goals. Our shoot was immensely enjoyable. Johnny knows exactly how to put clients at ease and is a wonderful conversationalist; he was able to guide me as a novice model without being condescending or pushy. He has done a good deal of acting himself, so he understands how to get effective pictures out of actors. He gave me objectives to work with as he shot, which is brilliant. When it came to delivering the photos, he was incredibly quick. I have never gotten headshots back in less than 3 days. He brought two assistants along and captured the posed photos and spontaneous moments over the course of the day. His reception photography was particularly impressive--he photographed us in low lighting, so he used external flash to avoid blurry photos, but the end results looked as crisp and clear and not overblown as those from earlier in the day. Brian answered our questions thoroughly and patiently, smiling every second. He was so approachable and easy to talk to. He has an open door policy, and always made himself available to respond to emails, phone calls, and in person visits. We didn't have to lay out a detailed list of the shots we wanted - he just understands what you need and does it. He anticipates what you want. Our photos weren't those cheesy staged pictures that you often see. They were candid shots of us having the time of our lives. They were amazing! The lighting was incredible as well. Most of our reception was in really dark light, but the photos turned out so crisp and clear. Even with the glow sticks that we pulled out later in the evening. He is truly talented!
