Its also an excellent place to advertise your business or events.I look forward to it arriving to see whats been going on, and what businesses that i may not know about have adverts in it.Unlike newspapers which are usually recycled the next day, i keep this magazine as a reference for local numbers etc. Also as a small business owner, i have used it myself to promote my company with very pleasing results. There are regularly changing exhibitions in the Art Gallery, and interesting history and art displays in Old Tullie House and in the new wing. They are really good at putting on activities for children at half term and in the school holidays, and these are usually free. It's a gem - and the cafe's good too! Tullie House is also the only place you will be able to see arthouse films in Carlisle now.

Considering Carlisle is a small place, the screenings never get very full or rarely do so meaning that you can pretty much have the pick of all the seats - great if you have preference to sitting in a particular area. Refreshments on the pricey side but show me a multiplex which has affordable popcorn and soft drinks. Also, word of warning - if you have a screening in either screen 4/5/6/7 prepare to walk a hell of lot of stairs!

A night out for 2 (for just the tickets) can cost in excess of £12, nevermind any refreshments. And you NEED the refreshments to get through the 20minutes of trailers and adverts before the film even starts. The seats are comfy, and the screens are a decent size. However the staff are not interested in the customers, and the joint queue for both refreshments AND tickets is ridiculous, especially if your film is about to start!

We had our Christmas Party here on a family fun day and it was so much fun. We had the pleasure of…read morebeing in a private box which had a balcony overlooking the racecourse and it was the most fantastic view. The box had it's own facilities such as a television to watch the coverage of the racing, a betting shop right outside the door, personal waitress service and an incredibly well stocked bar. We also had a three course meal which consisted of soup, Cranberry and Pork sausages with mashed Potato and vegetables and Eton Mess for pudding. It was fantastic. The food was gorgeous although it was served while the racing was taking place so we had to keep dashing from our seats to see who had won and then back to the table again. Included with the box we were given £20 of vouchers to place bets with which made the day even more fun and some of us even won money. For someone who had never been to the races before it was an amazing day and now we are thinking of having our wedding here.
