I feel sorry for people who say they were hurt by this church, but that hasn't been my experience or anyone I know who goes there. The location is right in the midst of a residential area... parking is a bit hectic so be early. If you're 15 minutes early parking is easy. If you're on time... you'll be praying for a parking space! Aside from the challenging -but not impossible parking... this ministry is SOLID! It is huge so be prepared to adjust if you're used to a smaller church (as I was/am). The staff as well as the congregation are very warm, friendly & inviting. You can truly sense the Holy Spirit at work. The worship is breath- taking... the team clearly seeks the Lord over what songs to share each week... the worship is passionate, joyful and centered on God (not just commercial songs about US) and it truly ushers you into God's presence and prepares your heart/mind for the Word. As for the teaching! Pastor John (lead Pastor) is not only an excellent teacher but you get a strong sense that everything he is teaching he has walked out or is walking out himself. It is not just a "sermon/report"... there is life in it! But one thing I have noticed as well about Pastor John is he is a good Shepherd too. Not all Pastors are both. Some are just good teachers who neglect the sheep emotionally. But John seeks to lift up the body of believers as well as individuals... he raises up a lot of other younger teachers in his church. Giving them opportunity to grow & be used by God. That's a sign of true humility and a deep understanding that Highland isn't his church, it's God's church & these are His people who ought to be "equipped for the work of the ministry"! John is being diligent & faithful to do that, as are so many others in this church. My grandson (baby) goes to the Children's Ministry and loves it... there is a great staff of servant volunteers there. I am excited to plug in more as time goes by (I have only been here a few months but have been SO EDIFIED!) I am anticipating Attending the women's fall study, and I can't wait for that. It is inductive which means it's going to be rich!!! So long story short this church is absolutely worth visiting and hopefully making YOUR new home church. From the worship music to the welcoming friendly people to the service and message, this was a different experience from many other churches I have attended (in approach and feel) in a positive way for me. They also happened to have had a guest pastor which made it even more unique. They were tying in Black History Month into the message, and it was a powerful message at that! I can tell this church really does work to face modern social/community issues through biblical references with Love being the key factor in approach. I was expecting this to be mostly Baylor students, but I was pleasantly surprised to have many young families there as well as older age groups. For a contemporary church, this is a great thing to see. It is also not an overwhelming church which was perfect for me. Everyone has different preferences, so it will not be the same experience. I would suggest visiting if you like smaller to medium-sized contemporary services and want to visit a church that ties their messages into modern community issues (tying secular and spiritual together).

I really love being in the presence of the Lord as we entered into Praise and Worship. Pastor Rose preaches the Word of God with a great anointing and depth of the Word . I asked Pastor to pray for healing in my body and when he laid hands on me I felt the presence of God so strong and I am not experiencing the severe pain in my hip and legs as I was before and not even on a daily basis. Praise God! I know healing isn't always instantaneous and I need to keep speaking that "the Power of God is continually working in my body" and thanking God. Pastor's Bryan and Darla both have a vision for WACO and I am excited to be a part of this whenever I have the opportunity to attend, as I don't live in Waco. I believe God is going to do great things here! Since joining, we've been met with nothing but authentic kindness, love, support and friendship. We've made close friends, our kids are loving their classes, and we attend as many extracurriculars at the church we can. HC is a wonderful example of how a church body can inconvenience themselves to love their congregation, they are so generous with their time & resources. Every staff & volunteer is a gem. Harris Creek genuinely stirs our affections for the Lord!

She thought the person she met was really kind and wanted to try it but was shy to go alone. When we arrived at church, the college group leader happened to welcome us and literally was so welcoming and authentic. Please keep following up with these college students. They may seem shy but they are watching and listening. Your kindness will help bring them back to church. Love the vision and heart and could not help but feel welcomed. Keep reaching out! They need the kindness and love of Jesus through your ministry! Just an FYI, I felt a presence of God when I entered the building. When we walked into the sanctuary I immediately felt that the building was already too small and God was moving to expand it. Been here multiple times since moving to waco…read more Enjoyed sunday school when i could make it. Service is pretty traditional but that is on purpose as they don't prefer loud rock concert type of services. Lots of service in the community and they truly care for the neighborhood surrounding the church which is not always the case for many churches.

We just had a great Easter weekend including Good Friday service Easter service and egg drop from a helicopter on Easter Sunday. There also was a food truck and bouncy castle and one of those tanks where you throw a ball and if hit the person is dropped into the water. I have had so many blessings here since I had joined about 8 years ago. So much wisdom and spiritual knowledge imparted here. I feel the presence of the Spirit here.
