During Canada Day, Fort George has a BBQ (hamburgers and hotdogs), live music, canon performance and fireworks. This location is ideal if you want some freedom to rest / go elsewhere throughout the day. Only a 6 min walk or so from Fort George. Room: A bit dated but if you are just staying one night it's fine. I wasn't in the room much. However, traditional rooms face parking lot so I recommend asking for 3rd floor. It is a bit dark but more privacy on a higher floor. Also I think room could have been cleaner, there was a lot of dust collected by the windows. Service: Staff at hotel are quite nice and during Canada Day, they served sangria in the lobby and had some cute Canada Day sparklers, stickers, a small candy bar, etc. They also text you asking if you need anything and rate your experience with them. Amenities: On the Basement level, open 7:00am-10:30pm there is an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and gym available. By the elevators they also provided a tea/coffee bar. I went right at 7am and no one was there, nice and quiet so you have it to yourself. Another service they have is a shuttle. You can request it to take you to fort york, into the town, and other areas but it's close to a lot of places so we never ended up using this service. Overall, not a bad stay and I wouldn't mind coming back if this location was near some activities I wanted to check out like Canada Day. If just coming for a regular stay/ anniversary/ celebration - I would lean towards like deluxe rooms and above. For instance, deluxe rooms face the marina with lots of sun but only has king beds.

We had great communication by text from Mariana, asking when they would expect us. She was there to meet us and show us to our perfect room with a king bed, soaking tub and sitting area. She asked us about our tray for our wake up, coffee or tea or both, juice and chocolate croissants. We chose the time for it to be delivered, for us 9am. Breakfast was from 9 to 11 and we chose 11 am. We enjoyed strolling around Niagara on the Lake for the afternoon, with a nice dinner in town. Arriving back at the B&B we chose a game to play from the library and retired to our lovely room. There is no TV which was nice, and wifi is free but not great, so enjoy the down time! We both also enjoyed a good soak and read in the tub and bath salts are provided. The bed was comfy and really there was nothing else needed! The grounds are relaxing. I noticed if you needed to plug in your car there is a place out in the parking lot. We chose to eat indoors as it was very humid and warm out and we had a lovely table in the living room by the window. Breakfast was a culinary delight! Each bite was a delight! We couldn't have gotten a better meal in a 5 star restaurant! I highly recommend and we would come back for sure.

We arrive so late Thursday (around midnight) and Brian was still up to greet us and show is around the house. This place is nothing short of beautiful. They're one of 9 houses on the Annual Garden Tour, which happened to be going on the weekend we stayed. Place was WELL stocked with Filtered water, coffee, tea, and toiletries (if you forgot any); he even had bathing suits you could borrow if you forgot yours and you want to take a dip in their pool! What?! Breakfasts are as incredible as everyone says they are. As a chef, he really does it up. 15+ diff kinds of (local) cheeses, fresh-sweet-in season fruits, yogurt, fresh-baked breads, some kind of sweet roll/muffin, homemade chutneys and jams, and omelets/eggs benedict/frittata (one of those as the "feature," depending on the day). Breakfast is served at 9am and you eat breakfast with the other guests, which was so nice because we met so many nice people and traded stories and tips and advice. We stayed in Mrs Butlers Chamber and it was just fine for us since we were out and about most of the day, but if you can, opt for the Colonels room (with a deck and nice view) or the other King-size-bed room with more space. Free wifi. Salt water-solar heated pool! Brian is an amazing host. Thrice bitten... We've stayed three times, always because of…read morethe convenience. The hotel is directly across the road from the theatre, which meant no driving and parking. The first time, we wanted a room with a jacuzzi. It had one. It just didn't work. Not a huge deal, but we paid additional for a jacuzzi. The second time we booked a jacuzzi room, which we sort of got - much smaller room, and it was just a bathtub with jets. Then the leak started. So they moved us to a new room. We moved everything to another building, and just got settled when water started coming through from the room above. Finally they moved us to a companion hotel - at 11:00 at night, and while it was a nice room, the pilot light from the gas furnace was on, heating up an already too-hot room. So they moved us again to another room, but only for one of our two nights because it was booked for the next night, so in the morning we had to move again. And this time - with nothing else in town available, we got to the room, and discovered that there was no cold water. Both taps, in the sink and the shower, were attached to the hot water pipes - and the water was scalding, dangerously hot. So basically, nice looking place, very convenient, and the maintenance staff is not just incompetent, but dangerously, inconveniently, annoyingly so. Three times burned, not returning. Edit - I am going to slightly alter my review. Yes, there have been problems every time we have stayed. But all the problems were maintenance related. The staff did their best to resolve the issues. And, in addition, there is Zees, the attached restaurant. The chef is outstanding offering terrific meals every time, the wine list of Niagara wines is extensive, and the service has always been excellent.

Breakfast was warm and inviting and the homemade cranberry bread was heavenly! The rooms were cozy and very clean. Nice thick sheets and very thick soft towels. Tom was great about giving us information on all the local attractions and where to eat to avoid the crowds and get the best prices. Just an FYI: They did ask all the guests to remove their shoes at the door, which I was ok with, but definitely good to know ahead of time! :) Great visit! Felt like we were staying with friends. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

If you use the greyhound, it's only a short 4 minute walk to the B&B. I also heard that they will package your stuff and mail it to you in case you leave anything there. Now to find a reason to be back here again even after visiting the falls! :P
