Frank at Branson Cell Phone Repair was a gem!! I was passing through town and took my phone in for…read moreservice, as it had been acting up all week. Frank looked at it, did SOMETHING , and voila: my phone was no longer acting up! Thanks, Frank!

I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for small local businesses. I genuinely wanted this…read moreexperience to end well because I prefer supporting local shops whenever I can. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this one based on my experience. The repair itself initially wasn't properly completed. After the screen replacement, my phone's GPS no longer worked. When I returned the next day, I calmly explained that I wasn't trying to blame anyone. In fact, I specifically told the technician that I understood a loose connector or antenna cable was a simple thing to miss during a repair and that I just wanted my GPS working again before leaving on an extended trip. Instead of simply checking the phone, I was immediately met with hostility and repeated profanity. I was told it must be something I had done in my settings, there's no effing way it was his fault, but sure he'd take the effing blame, eff this and eff that. Before he would even consider reopening the phone, I was demanded to factory reset it despite telling him there was no change of settings. Throughout the interaction, I found myself trying to de-escalate the situation even though I was the customer bringing back a warranty issue. Finally, after over an hour of back and forth, he took the phone and reopened it, put it back together correctly, and the GPS magically was working perfectly again. I verified with a GPS diagnostic app that it was once again seeing over 70 satellites, but he wouldn't even look at the screen or acknowledge that the problem had been corrected. There was no explanation or apology for the way the situation had been handled. Another issue was payment. At no point while requesting a quote or while the repair was being performed was I told the shop only accepted cash. I didn't find out until the repair was complete, when I handed over my credit card and was simply pointed toward a small dirty "Cash Only" sticker on the counter. That put me in an awkward position that could have been completely avoided with a simple heads-up. While I was there I witnessed other customers facing the same frustration. The customer service issues continued after that. I explained that I needed an itemized receipt for a Chase Purchase Protection insurance claim with a deadline. I was told it would be emailed to me. It never arrived. I even created my own receipt form with all of the business information and repair details already filled in so all that remained was for the technician to verify the information and fill in the parts and labor amounts. He refused to do that as well. I was also told I would receive my original damaged screen/frame assembly back, but that never happened either. The phone is also having issues with the microphone after the repair, but I'm not even going to try dealing with that technician again, I'm done. A quality repair experience is about standing behind the work, communicating professionally when a customer returns with a legitimate concern, being upfront about payment expectations, and following through on promises. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of that standard. If you choose to use this shop, I strongly recommend taking a deep breath before entry and not leaving until you have thoroughly tested every function of your phone, confirmed everything works correctly, received any promised original parts, and have a complete receipt or invoice in your hand. Buyer beware.
