The service here was phenomenally done. However, the after care and communication once the service was over was abysmal. I emailed my direct contact regarding a question and waited. And waited. Over 7 days I waited for a response. When there was no response, I called and left a message. No one returned my call regarding death certificates. My third attempt at contacting them I showed up in person. I was told the death certificates weren't ready yet. Come to find out from the city where my individual passed, that they never ordered the certificates until AFTER I visited in person. I was told that they would call me after they received them. I waited 10 days. No phone call. I decided to show up yet again as this was the only way that they would answer me. Upon showing up, I was told that they were not ready as the death was under investigation. Not true. I had already paid for a death certificate privately and it was available without any issue. Then they told me that they hadn't arrived. Again not true. I had called and confirmed when they would be at the funeral home from the city clerk. The funeral service may have been well done, but the customer service I had was lacking. Tracy also comes off as sweet, but disappears quickly when she doesn't want to deal with an issue. I do feel a little odd giving a review of a funeral, but I feel people should know how pleased we were with Brasco. My mother passed away a little over a year ago and we held the service at Brasco in Waltham on Moody Street. Overall it was a very lovely service. They did all of our requests and even took the huge amount of photos we gave them and put them into a video slide show and poster boards for the wake. Everything we asked for they answered with a Yes. they were very nice dealing with us. When it was time to transport my mother's body from the funeral to the church the men do a really nice salute where they march in a military formation, I cant think of a better way to describe it. It was very beautiful and respectful. My mother would have loved it. The price was not cheap but the service was lovely and they handled everything. I'm glad we went to Brascos. As a side note, we held a reception after at the Chateau in Waltham and everything went nicely. So if you are in the Waltham area and need to plan for this sad event, going with Brascos for the funeral and a reception at Chateau worked well for us. Brascos and Chateau work together many many times on this so they have a good system together. I told my sisters when I go I want the funeral at Brascos and then a reception at Chateau just like my mother had because her funeral was beautiful and doing it all together was very nice for everyone. read more

Lies, Neglect, Including Possible Theft, and Total Lack of Care When my father passed away in February, we asked Brasco & Son to handle the arrangements. We met with Paul Brasco and drew up a plan including information for the time for the service, my father's birth date, military service information, instructions for what Paul was going to say and do during the service, and plans for a military ceremony at the National Cemetery in Bourne. Brasco, however, messed up in every possible way. First, they published the wrong time for the service, causing people, even the priest, to come at the wrong time. Second, Paul failed to show up for the service. He had promised to be there to introduce the speakers. When I asked a Brasco employee where Paul was, I was told no one could find him. It turned out that a family wanting to talk about a funeral had walked into his office without an appointment, so he met with them instead of being with us as he had promised. Third, a minor, but irritating point, on the Brasco website they consistently posted incorrect information about my dad, including his date of birth. Even on the day of the service, above his casket they listed a date that would have made him 20 years younger than me. Fourth, Brasco either lost or stole my father's military medals and ribbons. They had promised to pack up personal items about my dad's life, including photos and his medals, while we went to lunch. But when we unpacked the boxes, we discovered that the medals and ribbons were missing. When I called, they said they'd "look around" for them, but they never called us back with an explanation. These medals were very important to my dad who served in both Normandy and the Pacific. Fifth, one of the duties of the funeral home was to arrange for a military ceremony at Bourne cemetery where my father's ashes are to be buried. Because Paul rarely answers the phone or returns phone calls, I gave the requested date for the ceremony to Naomi. I told her it was important for us to make solid arrangements because my nephews are in the service and will be flying in from Europe and many family members live on the west coast so they too need to make work, flight, and hotel arrangements. Naomi called and told me she had booked the date, so weeks ago, family members made their arrangements. In light of Brasco's previous negligence, last week I decided to check on the National Cemetery website to make sure that Brasco had not messed up once again. Sure enough, it turns out that the National Cemetery Association has never received a request from Brasco about my father. Naomi had lied to me when she assured me she made the reservation. Fortunately, I was able to contact someone at the National Cemetery Association (I was number 43 on hold, so it took all morning) who booked us for date we had requested. He told me that the date we had picked was popular and we are very lucky that there was still time available. It is a good thing I checked because I can only imagine how upsetting it would have been when my family showed up for the ceremony only to be told it had never been scheduled. In sum, Brasco did a terrible, terrible job in assisting us at our time of need. What makes it worse, is that Brasco knows my family because several of my father's siblings used Brasco for their funerals. In fact, the Brascos are second cousins to my father's family. If this is how they treat family, I can only imagine how they treat strangers. read more

Unbelievably kind, thoughtful and thorough. From the very first interaction to the last Brasco exceeded my expectations. Paul Brasco meticulously managed all arrangements from beginning to end. They have a new chapel at the Waltham site that is nothing short of magnificent if you want to have the service outside of the church. We brought in a minister to officiate the service/eulogy (Reverend Lee) and she was extremely helpful in melding a catholic-type service with a eulogy so that the whole family was happy. A family member of mine afterward said it was the best funeral they had ever been to and they wanted to plan theirs exactly the same way. We even recorded the funeral for those that couldn't be in attendance and it was perfect. I cannot say enough - if you are not sure which funeral home to use - choose Brasco all the way. read more
