My son waited over one hour for a Philly cheesesteak. The fireworks were awesome. The logistic support for the parking and shuttle system were handled really well. Been there, saw the balloons. Don't need to go back.

They have convenient parking close by but for those that can not find parking they also provide shuttle service to and from the fairgrounds . We took the shuttle from Eversource. Its seems like every year this fair its getting bigger and bigger. With a buzz of people and an enormous amount of food and activities to do. THE FOOD oh my, the food , so many vendor to pick from its hard to decide. We are A LOT, street corn from Mexican vendors, grinders from church tents, and of course we can't forget the expected fried dough. I also noticed the decrease of animal activity, it seems like more comercial than a fair animal experience itself. And at night its so exciting to see the rides illuminated and music playing loud for everyone to hear. A lot of happy memories.

I love coming here every year, especially on Thursdays for demo Derby…read more When I'm not at demo Derby, which takes all day, I enjoy a different day with all the different local vendors, small Mom and pop shops, all the different shows, and of course, who could forget the food?! The different livestock, and the cute little chicks being hatched are one of my favorite things The carnival area is great for kids, which I don't have so personally I don't venture to this area often as it is a little wild, especially on the weekend Thursday is the best day to go because of demo Derby however it's a few hours long and being opening day you don't get much time at the fair. I would suggest going on a Friday as well to experience the full fair.

this was my first garlic fest and i literally had the time of my life. when they say they're over…read more200+ vendors, they seriously mean it!! it took me an hour just to browse around before really like stopping at the places i wanted to, it was incredible! they had so many unique booths and i got to try so many samples ranging from black garlic, garlic chocolate bark, garlic fudge, garlic vinegar, garlic cheese, so much more, i was in absolute heaven. all the non garlic vendors were also soo good, my bank account was definitely balling out this weekend, haha! can't wait for next year!

We saw carnival rides, carnival games, children's activities, two stages of live music, booths from 26 garlic growers, 97 Specialty Food Stands, 8 Soap vendors, 14 Food Court vendors, 60 craft vendors, 16 Snack Food Vendors, 12 Jewelry vendors, and 9 "miscellaneous" vendors. We walked around for an hour and picked up an eclectic group of stuff -a chili soup mix, a cinnamon chocolate chip bread, a salted caramel coconut beer blondie, a salted pretzel knot, two Asian dumplings, and a cup of chocolate Italian ices. It was outstanding, simply outstanding.

The food is priced according to the kind of event it is. There are people in costumes and people without. If you don't want to dress up you don't need to and they don't make you feel out of place for being in regular clothes. The faire is a great day of family fun doing something a little different from your ordinary festivals. I highly recommend this faire over "the other one" in Massachusetts.

I definitely believe that the tickets were severely oversold, parking took 2.5 hours, and the lines for drinks were 45-90mins each time. Prices were reasonable, food was just okay. I didn't get to try as much as I would have liked to due to the lines moving so slow. The costumes were super cool. Staff were all very nice, friendly, and in character; however I do not think anyone was equipped to deal with the crowding. Also, the petting zoo has animals kept with dirty water and empty food bowls. Wasn't a fan of that.

"What if we went to Italy…read more                                                                                             I don't speak a word of Italian Except for Campari and soda for two" (Mary Chapin Carpenter) What a nice time we had at the Southington Italian American Festival. Lower Center Street was closed off to vehicle traffic, creating a pedestrian mall of sorts. But no worries, there were tons of street parking and parking lots on upper Center Street. The street was lined with colorful high top tables and Italian flags making it quite festive. Many of the nearby restaurants had outdoor sales booths, so the festival kind of expanded beyond its boundaries. Once we entered the fairgrounds, there was live music from the big entertainment stage, a big tent to buy raffle tickets for dozens of gift baskets, and oh yeah-- the food stations. Sausage and peppers, gelato, pasta fagiole, soffrito, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and of course.... pizza! I had a pepperoni slice from Nonna's, and I swear, I was transported back to the great Italian pizza I grew up on from Jerome Avenue in the Bronx. Oh, and they even had a petting zoo for the little Bambinos and a Sunday morning Mass. The Festival is only open for a few days, and we were there on Sunday which marked the end of the Southington Italian American Festival's 2022 edition. I'd love to go back next year and try the sausage and peppers!

The price was $15 for adults and $8 for kids aged 5-12. All children are free on Sunday. What perfect timing, we passed by the Mohegan sun booth right in time for the 4pm Tao chef demo session. I've eaten at Tao before, so I was eager to participate. All I had to do was place a $25 bet on the app and it granted my party of 4 admission. The chef was very entertaining. We got a delicious BLT bao bun each and each got a ticket to redeem a $10 drink from a nearby juice truck, Ta' Deliciozo. The juices were made fresh with quality ingredients. To top it off, under our chairs was an envelope with a prize listed. We won merchandise and credit in the app. This was a very good steal! Definitely got our money's worth. We stop by a few tastyfood trucks then watched some of the 6pm Ready Go Dog Show. I enjoyed this event and will definitely be back next year!

We walked around & ended up @ the Mohegan Sun booth 1st. Any one of us (except my niece) could have bet $25 for a free appetizer & drink for each of us. My sister volunteered. The food was from Tao in Mohegan. It was a mini thick bacon sandwich w/ lettuce,tomatoes,& a special sauce. It was pretty good. The drinks were from Ta'Deliciozo truck(Norwich). I'm not gonna lie I found 4 free drink tickets so we all had 2 drinks each. Score!!! I got the guava & then the soursop juice. When I tell you those fresh drinks were soooooo yummy! I then saw a Mr. Softee ice cream truck. I had to get me a vanilla cone w/ rainbow sprinkles. That is my forever order. If you never had Mr.Softee ice cream I don't know what to tell you. You have no idea what you're missing. I also tried vegetable dumplings & bbq breaded chicken cutlets w/ nacho fries . I forget the name of the places. It wasn't that good anyways. Finally, to end it all I attended the dog show! Pretty cool experience overall. I will be back next year!
