Incredible service from start to finish - but more importantly an amazing instrument... thanks Doug..!

As many have stated here the store has wonderful items but the owner would do herself/himself justice to get better employees!! RUDE is not the biggest issue.. no telling how much $ has been lost because of horrible customer service for this place... My husband and I took a weekend to visit Blowing Rock. I found an amazing bag and politely asked if they could hold it behind the counter. The girl (pink hair) was busy unpacking boxes and said "absolutely not, we have way to much on the counter right now I can't make room" News flash:: all that inventory won't mean crap if you can't take care of the customer FIRST. Rude is putting it mildly. Lady checking me out this week was very rude. From the time we entered the store it was as though we were invisible. Never a word said to my husband and I except for how much they wanted for the 5 items I purchased. Never again. My money spends well at other businesses who are polite and helpful. read more

I love this store and it's ever changing collection of accoutrements. It's very tight and they're often busy but it's very worth a long look. So much to see snd love, good to go in with a plan - often devised by having scouted before and thinking about what you are going to do with any treasures found in the Brass Exchange. Friendly staff, great prices. I have a new space to fill, time to head to Blowing Rock for lunch and shopping! read more

Woman at front counter was rude and demanding. As I walked away from the counter she leaned over and made a comment about me to another customer! Are you kidding me ? Other customer looked around uncomfortably. There are so many wonderful shops in Blowing Rock , with kind courteous owners and employees. I will be spending my money at their establishments . They all employee adults . read more

Do not visit the Brass Exchange in Blowing Rock unless you want to interact with rude unprofessional employees. I tried to visit for the first time today and called before I came to confirm what time they closed. I arrived 15 min before closing and when I walked in the store the employee yelled "we're closed". When I said "I thought you closed in 15 minutes", she said "well what do you need?" then said "I guess you can look for a minute, knock yourself out" in the snarkiest tone. My daughter said to me "mommy why is that lady so mean to you?". Needless to say, I did not go in and they will never get a dime from me. There is a cute new home decor store right across the street...I went there instead and the employees were very nice. read more

This is one of my favorite shops in Blowing Rock. They have a wide selection of all kinds of fun and beautiful items at really great prices! A must-see shop! They have everything from seasonal items to great smelling candles to unique home decor. read more

I would say Michelle L. is correct (the first one to review). My husband and I went to Blowing Rock, NC for a three day vacation and checked this store. The sales person are not warm and did not even greeted the customer. I bought a lantern and unfortunately, it does not come with a price. So the cashier went inside to look for the tag price. I said, you can you give me discount since it is a display item? She said we don't give discount iwth display item in a dry tone. So I said I will take it. She wrapped it right away but I said, did you checked it first if there are cracks in the glass? She said I did but go ahead and checked it yourself then she looked at her co worker. The two sales personnel are not friendly and looks like they don't want to be there. I will not recommend going to this store as you can find items that they are selling ib Kirklands anyway. Next time, be friendly and always say welcome to the customer. I was in the sales when I was in college and I learned that if you want customers keep coming back, you have to always smile as well. In other words, build goodwill. Whoever is the owner of this store, you have to train your worker to make your business a success!!!!!!!!! read more

The selection, as well as the people who work at Brass Exchange, are top notch. They had a beautiful painting (one of many) that I bought for my fiancee for Christmas, and stayed open late so that I could pick it up before heading out of town. Check them out!! read more

On Friday, October 28, my husband and I went into the Brass Exchange in order to purchase some home items. While we were there, a customer came in to return an item and get a refund. She was told they do not give cash refunds even though she paid cash, and she calmly asked to speak to the manager. The manager came downstairs and loudly said, "I'm sorry you don't like our return policy!" The customer very calmly explained that she had paid cash for the item and would like cash on her return. The manager kept getting louder and louder. The customer would not budge, but was still speaking in a quiet, calm voice. She said that she read the return policy and it did not state that she could not receive cash for her return. The manager shrieked, "You must be a Hillary supporter!!!" Really? What would that have to do with a return? This was extremely unprofessional! Politics had absolutely nothing to do with the "confrontation." My husband and I were very upset, and told the manager that we would not be back. She stated that that was fine with her. Please do not patronize this establishment. Not only do they write checks for refunds, but they are extremely disrespectful to their clients. read more
