This is the store in Blowing Rock! The person in charge there was very upset about an order and called someone to yell at them! Not professional when you could here her all over the store. Then when I went to pay for a couple of things , she was on the phone about the same problem and wouldn't even walk to the register and cash me out! I walked out of the store!!! Very rude behavior . If I had been the owner I would have fired her on the spot. I did training and was HR for Sears for several years. Not a good representative for that company!!! read more

I had a great experience here they were super helpful and kind to me. Aside from them not greeting me when I very first came in, my only suggestion for them to make people feel even more welcome, but once I engaged them in conversation and questions, nothing but great customer service! I love this store, I do get a little overwhelmed with all the choices and soo soo much to look at, for me so many "shiny objects" I end up spending way more time than I anticipate. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. If I am in a hurry, I just have to ask for what I am looking for and they are always super helpful in taking me straight to it or making suggestions for me. I just have to put my blinders on as I walk past all those other "shiny objects". I just wish I lived closer. (Ft Mill isn't THAT far though) worth the drive! read more

If you're like me and ever wondered what this place was then this review will help you. All it is, is a overly priced, cluttered store. Granted they have some cute stuff, but $199 for a pillow!?!? You can EASILY find similar items on Amazon for more than half the price they are selling theirs for. I truly have no idea how they stay in business especially in this economy we live in. I can't review the staff because I was welcomed when I walked in but that was my only interaction, which I'm fine with. I like to be left alone when shopping/looking around. I love this store! They have beautiful accessories and furniture. The sales associates are always very helpful. I purchased a Bramble media console that I love, and Brass Exchange offered the best price. I also bought eight side chairs. They were very helpful with loading the chairs. Yes the staff is much friendlier and helpful, but the woman with the long blond hair was very ugly to me when I was in the store recently to return a lamp. I explained that I liked the lamp, but thought maybe it might be on sale soon since it's been in the store for over a year and I need two matching lamps anyway. (They only had one). She said in a very condescending manner that they order the same lamps over again. I said good maybe I can order another one from you. Which she came back with in an even nastier tone, or you can wait until I place the order for the store. Well, I don't shop where I'm treated poorly! read more

I went into the store today with the intention of buying some accessories for my home. No one greeted me or said hello. I ended up finding an awesome light fixture that I was debating on buying. I took pictures of it, was trying to see the tag with the price, hemmed and hawed for quite a while, sales associates walked by several times and no one even asked if I needed assistance or said hello. As much as I liked the light, I refuse to buy it at such an unwelcoming store. (So they just lost a $600 sale because no one approached me) Also, it is VERY off-putting to have signs all over the place that say "do not put anything on the table" or "do not play with the chess set". I've never seen so many rules in a home furnishing store before. This is in the Arboretum, for goodness sake, perhaps they should remember that! read more

I love the Brass Exchange! The people are wonderful. I am greeted at the door when I enter and told to have a good day when I leave. When I am on the hunt for a certain "look" I just ask them. They are familiar with their stock and can take my idea and bring it to life. There are new and different things whenever I go. Their things are unique and fairly priced. I visited the location in Blowing Rock last Saturday and had a horrible experience. I entered the store 15 minutes prior to closing and the employee yelled "We're closed". When I said "I thought you closed in 15 minutes", her response was "What do you need?" I told her I just wanted to look around and she said "I guess you can look for a minute, knock yourself out" in the snarkiest tone. I have never encountered someone so rude in a retail establishment before. I just bought a 4000 square foot house in Blowing Rock and was planning to purchase many pieces for my house in the store because I love Bramble furniture. I will NEVER give this business one dime after how rude the clerk was. Do not visit this store if you want good customer service. read more

I'm not a wealthy Myers Park customer, but over the years I visited the shop quite often when it was on Selwyn Road. I loved the style of the furnishings and decor and have purchased at least 5 pieces of furniture. However, I can not say that I ever had great customer service there or that the manager or any of the sales team ever gave me much attention. In fact, pretty much ignored. read more

The staff is unfriendly and arrogant. The prices are similar to any over priced store such as Restoration Hardware. At least RH is pleasant. We tried to make a return during the 5 day return policy. Apparently day one is the day you buy. Was a huge hassle to make the return. However, we have bought quite a bit from them. Recently we tried to buy another over priced item. We inquired about getting it ordered in a different color and were told "NO" this is "reclaimed wood" and that's the color it comes in.... Apparently the employees either lie to the customers or are ignorant of the products they sell. I am a professional wood worker....I know what color PINE comes in when reclaimed.... and "green with white" isn't it. If you cut the wood to make the doors and drawers, it won't be green with white high lites.... it's grey if anything! Regardless... The piece was on sale and they made us feel pressured and stressed to get it right then...however, we couldn't return it if the color wasn't right. Went back a few days later (Tuesday - two days later)....and they didn't want to honor the sale price. I tried to give the store a chance, but the other reviewers were right - stunningly rude employees. It's absurd how a customer could be treated in your store. After a misunderstanding during a transaction, the employee (Marge) raised her voice for over a minute shouting so loud as to attract the attention of other shoppers. It was absolutely uncalled for, unprofessional and certainly embarrassing. The other woman working the register even apologized to me afterwards, which was appreciated, but it's unfortunate that Marge would even treat customers in a way that would warrant an apology. That's the last time I'll be in that store. They have some lovely items, but it's not worth the abuse. read more

So RUDE. Try treating customers with respect please. I like some of your things, but your staff is NOT customer friendly. I will NOT be back. Also, I see a lot of your responses to negative reviews speaking to how friendly you are. The point is....you are not friendly and actually quite offputting to your clients. I have spent over $500 at your store in the past year or so and had another $200 in my hand to check out when your staff remarked, can't you see a I have a line here!! I was just trying to put things down and wait patiently to check out. After being put in my place like a 5 year old by your staff, I returned the items to their shelves and left. Customer service and simple etiquette is very important. Very upset at the way I was treated and expect an apology. This is not how we do it in the south (and I'm a 20 year transplant from Chicago) - please emphasize manners to your staff. It is lacking and you are losing customers. read more

I was treated very poorly by the blonde staff there. I did ask a number of questions which were met with looks like they would be required to do something or check something which they were not pleased with doing. I wish the owners, who I know to be extremely nice people would be made of aware of it. That being said, I LOVE the Brass Exchange furniture but have to admit I dont go as often and feel unwelcome and basically ignored when I do go there. What I experienced is absurd and multiple people are experience the same thing. I went in and wanted to buy a piece it was in the store and had a price tag on it. But nope they would not sell it to me because it was the last one they had and didn't know when they would get more in?!?!? Who is running this store because a simple solution would be ummmm maybe sell those and when you get more in put them back up in your store and not trick people into thinking things are for sale and really aren't. So basically don't go there to shop for anything because even though they are portraying that things are for sale they strangely are not.
