But so worth it... The prices are kinda high on most things but you'll be taken in by the literal mountains of neat things available to you. The display walls run overwhelmingly from floor to ceiling - that has to be a fire hazard! I always feel so hemmed in here. Within two hours I got a notification that it was ready and that curbside was available. Before I could make room in my trunk for the box, an employee was pushing a cart out with my order. He helped me get the box in the trunk and I was on my way. I love when I get prompt service, and when I receive what I paid for. No complaints from me.

Unlike the full IKEA in Charlotte's University neighborhood, this is a much smaller footprint in the Promenade on Providence shopping center. Some similarities exist. The display area upstairs at the other IKEA locations has been shrunk down and this store has several setups of their furniture that you can walk through and get a proper feel for how it might fit in your home. Kitchens, bedrooms, closets, living room areas all set up with shelving, accessories and other accoutrements. A few other display areas with beds and furniture are set up with chairs and tables so that you can test and try out various IKEA pieces. You'll find some smaller accent items - clocks, picture frames, lamps, bedding, etc. Pricing on all is clearly marked. A handful of associates are here, ready and willing to help you with working out the various designs and customizing them for your order. There is no food to be purchased here, sadly. No meatballs or salmon or other great Swedish treats from coolers or from a cafeteria. This is a nice browse but it's not a destination shopping experience. We just reserved our spot with $25. When you get there, you choose your glass vase at different price points and just pay the difference. I chose a $25 cylinder that included 2 succulents or 3 air plants. They have a huge variety of decorative items to create a beautiful terrarium. There is no bar at this location and you aren't allowed to bring in your own alcohol. So I just took water for myself. The workshop took 30 minutes or so to complete. Otherwise, they have a big selection of all kinds of plants to choose from if you're in the market for a baby to take home. This location is much smaller than the Dilworth building.
