More than that: while paying using credit card, I received messages from my bank indicating I was possibly charged twice. As the luck would have it, after completing the TMB loop, we happened to walk past this restaurant and I remembered. So I checked with the staff and the owner Ms Laure Muller was very responsive. She took my email and phone number. Very next day she followed up with her accountant and emailed me confirming I wasn't charged twice. It was really gracious of her to do this. Really appreciate their customer service. I of course, strongly recommend this.

The service is about what you would expect from an upscale French restaurant, so honestly, there are no complaints. The main reason I am giving 3 stars and not more is because there are many other restaurants in Chamonix where you can get equally good or better French food for cheaper. I found that the hotel I was staying at, (Les Aiglons) for example, had better food for cheaper, as did some other restaurants.

The place is tastefully decorated with an inviting alpine feel. There is the option to go al la carte or choose one of their set menus which start at €59 for 4 courses. We went for the winter menu. To start I had the foie gras, always a favourite! Served with homemade bread. For main, the filet which I opted to have with the hollandaise sauce and triple cooked chips. The steak was amazing, so tender and the sauce perfect. This was then followed by a cheese selection then dessert, a chocolate mille feuille which was beautifully presented and tasted really good. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than lots of the Argentiere restaurants (although no more than the posher Chamonix places) but it's definitely worth it and I'd highly recommend a visit!

We started off with two appetizers, the marinated salmon and onion soup, both of which were generously portioned and delicious. The salmon has that classic smoked salmon flavor although it's not, and the onion soup had enough cheese in it to satisfy any cheese aficionado. We then proceeded to order the 3-course dinner for only 29 euros each. The escargot were cooked perfectly, and I loved sopping up the leftover butter sauce with the provided crusty bread. Both of us also ordered the grilled lamb chops with herbs which were flavorful and tender. As an unexpected bonus, this dish also came with a small salad and crispy french fries. Lastly, we completed the meal with a huge creme brulee and caramel tarte tartin. Although the desserts tasted amazing, we were stuffed by this point and sadly unable to finish them. Talk about an amazing way to cap off our TMB hike though. Would definitely recommend this place to celebrate or start off any trip with a bang!
