Slip on into the delicious-smelling pizzeria, wave hello to the bartender as you're walking, and go on through the double silver doors in the back. Once there, you're in a small hallway. Which door leads to the speakeasy? It's hidden, and takes a special trick to open the swinging panel into the next room. Once you've got it, duck into the small, velvet-lined door into a true speakeasy, with a prohibition-era throwback feel. No pictures are allowed, so my description will have to suffice, but imagine high ceilings, chandeliers, and velvet-lined barstools. A friendly cocktail waitress will bring you a menu, which gives a cheeky nod to other taboo indulgences by way of including the Marquis de Sade. I had an Old Fashioned (what else would one order in a speakeasy?) made with Bulleit Bourbon. If that's not your favorite, there are a number of other bourbon whiskies on the menu to try. We sat, sipped, and spoke easily for a spell before heading out. All in all, a great way to cap off the evening!

Which was nicely presented and had a generous filling with cheese and ham inside. I opted for the beef of the day which was a grilled flank steak served with potatoes and a salad. I am very picky about my beef and this was fantastic grilled to perfection, medium rare and absolutely fantastic. I rarely finish a meal, but I ate every bit of this and enjoyed every bite. We had a nice dry riesling to go along with our meal and ordered crème brûlée for dessert. The service was also incredible attentive, but not smothering. Annie was kind to us non-French speakers and provided a menu in English. I would suggest making a reservation in the evening, although we did not have to wait the place filled up as we were there for a couple hours. The ambience is very sweet and cozy. I cannot recommend this place enough. Please give it a try they do have a very nice lunch special that I would suggest taking advantage of.

Food was delicious and the beer was so refreshing. They spoiled my princess with ice cream and tons of fresh fruit and whip cream that she took a 3 hour nap after lol.
